CVS Pharmacy

I've been coming to this location for the past few years to get my MODERNA COVID-19 and Flu shots. I was an Assistant Manger at Longs Drugs for about 4 years out of college. During that time I supported the Pharmacy, so I have an understanding how difficult the role of pharmacist is.
The pharmacist at this location (apologies, I didn't get his name) is a professional.
Each time I've visited the store, he has taken the time to make sure that my insurance covers my shots.
He also does a great job making sure that I am comfortable before he administers the shot.
Matt says if you need a Covid shot or a Flu shot, make an appointment at this location.
They do a great job!

Some of the people working here are so freakin rude geeez. I needed help and tried to ask the person in the Pharmacy. She ignored me - literally, just completely ignored me while standing 3 feet away and continued doing whatever she was doing without looking up. I loudly repeated myself, I know she heard me. So yeah I just stopped going here.

Absolute worst experience here. I had an emergency and was bleeding through my pants & needed to desperately use the bathroom. I understand that most places won't let you use bathrooms now bc of Covid; however, there are times when exceptions can be made and a little bit of empathy goes a long way.
I asked the front store manager, Gladis, if I could use the restroom. She said 'NO' like a drill sergeant. I proceeded to show her why it was an emergency, as my pants were now soaked. Again, she basically yelled no and walked away.
Unfortunately, I had to purchase a few things & when it came time to go up and pay, she saw me & walked away from the register, leaving another coworker to ring me up. Woman to woman, she could have been way more understanding and sympathetic to the situation with her attitude. She has zero personal people skills and should never treat someone that way.

This is a very beautiful CVS. And it should be as I believe it to be the former Mercedes showroom. Its near all the downtown action and the car dealers. I ran in to grab some Chap Stick after being at VW of Oakland.

I first looked for it near the register but they didn't have any there at the moment as an impulse item. I was quickly helped and was shown to the back of the store.

Sure enough just as I get back a short line forms when there was none before but it moves fast as the young lady who left her register to help me gets back to work. She is great at multitasking.

As I get to the register I get the impulse item that I was thirsting for - a car charger for my cell phone. Good to have one in each car and they tend to always break.

Come in here and look at the beautiful store. Full of windows. Imagine all the fine Mercedes that used to sit over the years where your currently standing.

I never thought I'd feel strongly enough to write a review of a CVS but here we are...

The people who work at the pharmacy are very nice but they are understaffed, mismanaged, insanely disorganized, or all of the above. So, fill your prescriptions here at your own risk. They would tell me refills would be ready by the next day and then take a week to fill them. Their response would be "oh, it's been busy." Cool, but I need my meds? and I was promised them days ago? On top of that, they messed up my prescriptions multiple times, despite the fact that my prescriptions don't. change.

And a general store note, there is almost NEVER more than one person working check-out, even with crazy lines. And one aisle says bread but it has no bread. It usually has chips. I cannot explain why this bothers me but it gets me every time.

NEVER SHOP HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR!! I mention ethnicities of people involved in this story because it is relevant to what happened. My brother, who is Afican American, was here two nights ago. A Black security guard falsely accused him of shoplifting, shouting at him in the middle of the store and demanding that he empty the contents of his backpack. When the guard realized he was wrong, he offered my brother's FRIEND his HALF-EATEN HAMBURGER as an apology!! Right before the false accusation happened, my brother had noticed a Black female employee whom he thought was watching him suspiciously.

My brother has a flawless record. And he also has high blood pressure and has had an aneurysm in the past at a young age. He did not need the stress and embarrassment of this unjust situation. AND THEY OFFERED HIM OLD FOOD AS AN APOLOGY!!! This is terrible to do to anybody, let alone your own people. SHAME! Never shop here.

Everything in the store of value is now locked down There are no shopping carts because merchandise was being wheeled out of the sore without being paid for. If the sales associates tried to stop them they were run over with the filled carts. It's a disgrace. It's dangerous to shop there and even more dangerous to work there. The store should be shuttered!!!!!!!!

Okay I thought it was just me....every single time I go to the pharmacy there's an issue and I leave without my prescription. They're horrible rude and super unorganized. I'm taking my business elsewhere!!!!

Update- Walgreens down the street on telegraph has been amazing. Plus there is a drive thru!

This CVS has hardly any stock! Who's the stock manager and what is he doing with the money? Not sure I will ever bother to go in again since I still need to go to another store to find all the items they didn't carry. Way too bad since it's right around the corner from me. Perhaps they are trying to go out of business or get some tax right off. Just plain crazy.

Easy parking, big store and when you have extra rewards like $5 coupon or $10 off $40, you can find some basic necessities and some of them are on sale. I like to shop there when I have alot of sale items on my list and I have $10 off $40. It's great!
