I loved the atmosphere and that alone would be five stars. I absolutely hate buffets---first off the people that are also there to dine act like it's the last meal they will ever get and you have to feel like you are in a competition to just get to the food. Seriously people calm down they will bring more out---pretty sure they are not going to run out of that shit! There were scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausages, and bacon for hot food. None of it was any good. I opted for a box of cereal which I love! My coffee was outstanding!!!! I would never come here specifically for the breakfast or want to pay for it but if it comes with your hotel stay---eat a muffin and have some coffee!

Myself and six of my family members attended the Mother's Day brunch yesterday at Creekside Cafe at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. We were disappointed by the brunch this year and won't be returning next year. Several of the items listed on the advertised menu were not available (smoked salmon, mashed potatoes), and many of the hot items were cold and/or undercooked. The waffles were cold and dry. The boursin hash browns were undercooked (crunchy potatoes) and cold, even when a fresh pan was brought out. By the time we were going up for a second plate, many things were running out and when we asked they were gone with no plan to replace them. My niece really wanted mac and cheese but it was gone before she could take any. This was at 12:45 pm. As far as I knew the brunch lasted until 2 pm.
Also, our $10 mimosas were all orange juice. There was no champagne in them. Additionally, my sister found a plastic whipped cream can cap in her food.
Our experience this year was completely different from last year, however. Everything was amazing last year.
I understand inflation has affected everyone, but $39 per person for brunch is a lot of money. We spent nearly $400 and left feeling disappointed ($70 of our bill was just orange juice in a champagne glass).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liz B.Minneapolis, MN3313Jul 23, 2022
Underwhelming and overpriced, portion size is small the sever did not know what was in a sauce and instead of finding out just was like "I don't know".... Glad there were no allergies at the table... service was mediocre at best. The atmosphere was nice for it being at a hotel with multiple events going on, the view was nice as it looked over a cute pond. Will not go back, as I was walking up to the bar to pay the bartender was eating off of the garnishes with not even an attempt to hide the fact that he was doing so...

This concerns the Sunday brunch buffet, which has existed for many years and recently re-opened after being closed down for a good while. This is a really solid buffet. As of the time of this review, it is $22/person and open from 9am-1pm. It includes: omelette station, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, creamy hash browns, waffles with whipped cream/strawberries, french toast sticks, fresh fruit, caramel rolls, cold cereal, beverages, a couple hot entrees (today it was some kind of fish and some kind of beef, both tasty enough; in the past, other hot entrees have included, salmon, pork loin, and ham), cheese blintzes, a small salad bar, and a nice array of desserts/pastries/soft serve ice cream. Everything is at least "pretty good" or better, and it all tastes fresh and/or homemade.
The staff do a really nice job and clearly take pride in their work. The seating space is pleasant and sunny. I've been there 4 times in the last 6-7 weeks, and it's usually been pretty quiet. I think people overlook it because it's hidden inside a hotel.
Show some love and support a brunch buffet, that for the price and quality, is definitely one of the better brunch buffets in the city.
Edit: Looks like I left a review in 2014 too! Clearly, I remain a fan.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shirley R.Blaine, MN08Sep 3, 2022
Great breakfast food and generous portions. Chicken fried steak with pork gravy was divine!

Have had brunch and dinner here many times during their brunch and dinner buffets. Great food, beautiful restaurant, great view. Ask for a table by the window.

I normally don't think much for hotel food. I associate bland, fast food, and poorly made food. But I am very impressed with the menu. I have tried the salmon, Cesar salad, fries, chicken wings, steak, pasta, burger, and even the chicken wrap. They were nicely served hot and with a bam of flavor. My fav was the salmon dish. It was fresh, served hot, and the size of the entree was decent. I like the white sauce they pour over the fish. Not too rich but bold with flavor.
The staff were all very friendly and will always try their best to accommodate your requests. I also called a few times for room service and they were quick to deliver the food hot. The wait time is between 30-40 mins.
The restaurant has a lounge and a few big TVs. This place is a good hang out place to catch up with friends over an intimate cocktails. Or it can be a good place to have a drinks and watch sport games with a crowd. Either way, it's an overall good hangout spot for everyone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jack S.Mustang, OK210139Sep 8, 2015
The Crowne Plaza hotel's restaurant is quite good. Staying here during a business trip I grabbed lunch there today and it was delicious. Both a buffet and menu ordering are offered and the buffet is a solid offering. The salad bar was really fresh and the soups (2) were good as well. The quality of the entrees were also very high. The lemon pepper catfish fillets were awesome and several healthy offerings will meet any diner's desire.
Hotel restaurant quality has steadily improved nationwide and Creekside is a good example. I highly recommend it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brandy R.Fargo, ND23429Jun 2, 2018
We ate here for both breakfast and dinner bc of convenience/transport issues. The food on the buffet was lukewarm so I'm not sure it meets food safety standards. Service this morning wasn't great but dinner was downright terrible. They were not busy either time. There appeared to be one server per table. It took forever to get drinks refilled. And the kicker was that one person ordered dinner from the menu instead of the buffet. They finally brought that meal and hour and a half later and it wasn't even the correct item that he ordered. By then he was desperate so he ate it. We all waited to eat until his food came so we all had a terrible dining experience bc of it. Honestly they should have just comped our entire meal bc it was that terrible of an experience. They kept trying to blame the kitchen but other tables ordering off the menu got their food in a timely manner. I can only sum up this restaurant as "over-priced mediocre food with terrible service". They should be ashamed of the way this facility is run.

Out of all the Sunday brunch buffets I've been to, Creekside cafe has the most variety for the price. Coffee is included, as well as juice which you can serve yourself. They have a create-your-own omelet bar which central in the room, hot caramel rolls, various pastries and other baked goods, cream cheese blintzes, fresh fruit and yogurt, and scrambled eggs. They even had a toaster available if you wanted to make toast. It's set up nicely so it's easy to go back for more food without feeling like you're walking though the same line over and over, too. There is a nice large window with a view of the creek surrounding the restaurant. It's the closest thing to a "relaxing" brunch buffet I've been to, and I didn't leave feeling like I paid too much for sub-par food. I'll go back some day, after "trying new things" dissappoints me enough...
