Cox Farms is the best!!! Even though it is very catered to kids, my boyfriend and I still come every year. In fact, this year we brought a group of our mid-20's friends to enjoy it with us!

Best parts: goat petting zoo (you might get dirty from goats jumping up on you), the hayride (just trust me), the giant slide (yes, the one with the GIANT line), and the school-cafeteria-style cheeseburgers are surprisingly delicious!

To note: they have fun food options, but it's limited. I brought some vegetarian friends and their main option was a salad. Also, the pretzel stand does not offer cheese to dip your pretzel in, as of fall 2023. Hoping that changes!!!

The fall festival seems to be what they are most known for but the holiday market during the winter is also fun to visit. Parking is free and overall it wasn't as busy or overwhelming crowd wise as the fall festival. We didn't get a Christmas tree this year but we saw how there was an organized process for them to help tie trees to the tops of cars if you select one.

Some of the employees were nice enough to offer to take pictures of our family. There were an abundance of fun photo opportunities with a quirky sense of humor in some instances. Plenty of local gifts to buy as stocking stuffers. The sparkling cider and burgundy (grape juice) were good as well as the cider donuts.

My friend and I were hoping to go to a cider mill/apple orchard/fall-themed farm while she was in town this past weekend. Being from the midwest, this was a yearly tradition we went to in college. If you are looking to stop by to grab some fall based foods and pastries and/or enjoy a cup of hot cider, then Cox Farms is a good spot to go and probably the easiest to get to if you're in Nova.

Note, this review has nothing to do with activities or attractions. We just walked around the store part to see what kind of goods we can buy. We ended up buying a small loaf of apple nut bread and pumpkin bread (8.99 each), some apple butter, and a couple half-dozen containers of cider donuts. The apple nut bread was so good and moist, definitely the "apple" version of banana nut bread that would be the perfect alternative if you don't like bananas. It's also not too sweet. I found the pumpkin bread to be a bit dry, dense and too sweet. Overall, expensive for how much we got, but worth it for the fall festivities. The cider donuts (9.50 for 6) were sugary, cake donuts that went perfectly with a cup of coffee in the morning. These were a hit when we brought them to group gatherings.

We also stopped by the cafe area to get a cup of hot spiced cider. It was perfectly hot (not to the point where your tongue will burn) and smooth, perfect for the slightly breezy fall weather. We sat on the benches sipping the cider while chatting. We also took some pictures by the pumpkin section.

Overall, a great time. We got the types of pastries and drinks we wanted and checked off the essential, annual midwest fall activity for 2023.

Fall festival is open Thursdays through Sundays through November 6, plus Tuesday, November 7! Tickets are only available online. Free spacious parking.

Beautiful location, plenty of areas to enjoy shade when needed, well thought out entertainment activities as well as spacious layout to enjoy things with just your group. They have many beautiful areas set up to take photos, great for fall family pictures.

Filled with family-friendly entertainment and attractions including slides, swings, animals, hayrides and a fun winding maze, filled with many surprises.

loved the complementary apple cider juice, apples, pumpkin and every bit of the farm. They sell fruits, vegetables, hot chocolate, coffee, apple cider, apple cider donuts and much more...

Its not an actual pumpkin patch where you go out into a field and pick your pumpkin. cannot bring any food or drinks in with you.

      Wonderful experience!!!

This place is huge but also has a lot of people. It can be quite chaotic - best to purchase tickets online ahead of time. Hay rides are fun but they have the most random collection of things, so it's not well curated. However, most kids don't care about that. They are just happy to have big slides to play on. The cool part is you can take a pumpkin/squash home on your way out. Only porta potty available for bathroom.

A staple for families and friends who want to experience some fall in VA! I've been going almost every year since I was in high school, and had so much fun every time. Recently went with friends who haven't been before, and they really enjoyed their time as well as seeing all of the animals. We really loved the friendly goats, petting them is free and it costs very little to feed them as well. The place was quite busy as we went during peak fall season, which is indicated on their website. There are many children and activities specific to kids, like slides, medieval setups, etc. where they can play. They also provide free cider, apples, and a pumpkin per person which is always a great keepsake to have throughout the rest of the fall season. A fair warning, if you're scared of bees, it may be a bit harder to get to the cider as they like to fly around there for the spilled cider. Would definitely recommend going at least once!

Great family-friendly harvest festival perfect for kids - you can easily spend 3+ hours, there's so much to do! There's lots of thrilling long slides, a galore of free apple cider and apple, a fun forest walk, an interactive hay ride, and you get to pick your a free pumpkin at the end. Our toddler loved it!

The main attraction to the park are the 1/2 dozen tall slides near the back of the farm. My hubby and I took turns sliding down with our 2 1/2 year old daughter. I saw some tots going by themselves or their parents taking their turn after them. There's no height, age, or parental restriction. There was a dino wavy slide that looked scary, but my fearless toddler conquered it! The smaller slides are towards the front. There's no last entry cut-off before closing like the forest walk or hayrides.

Don't miss out on the forest walk - there are lots of cool sculptures and little rooms to explore. It takes about 20 min to walk through and last entry is 1/2 hour before closing.

The hayride was hands-down my favorite part! The ride was a solid 1/2 hour and so interactive with cowboys, aliens, superman, and cool sculptures. We went through water multiple times! Not a dull moment. Can't imagine how much the haunted hay ride would be at night - next time!

There were barrels of apple cider and bushels of apples. Bees were swarming around the barrels and just couldn't get past them! The cider ran out early around 3:30pm.

The warm fluffy cider donuts were divine! So good that one wasn't satisfying enough and went back and bought another one!

In addition to the slides, there are other smaller attractions like pirate ships, hay tunnels, bubble machine (my daughter loved it!), wooden pictures frames where you stick your face in the hole, and petting zoo (big mama pig and cute little piglets). The petting zoo isn't a particular section and the fenced animals are scattered throughout the farm (chickens, goats, sheep, and pigs). My daughter had a blast playing in this wooden train.

As you exit, you get to pick a free pumpkin to take home (1 pumpkin/ticket) from a galore of different colors and sizes (except for the super big ones!). I was quite satisfied with my miniature pumpkin. My hubby and toddler opted out their pumpkins since we already had a few at home that we carved. Next year, I'm going to go before Halloween so we can pick out our pumpkins to carve! As a bonus, the park stays open an hour later until 6pm in Sept and Oct (closes early at 5pm in Nov)

On your way out, there's a small market. The local cider is delicious and bought a 1/2 gallon of cider (only $6.50), which pairs well with Bourbon!

Weekdays are definitely the way to go with super short lines for the slides (less than 5 min) and cheaper discount tickets, we only paid $10/ticket on Thurs and our little one was free (tots under 2). The weekends are peak prices which can be quite steep at $25/ticket.

We got there late afternoon on Thurs and 2.5 hours felt a little rushed, but were able to hit the main attractions and tall slides (lines would be longer on weekends). While we could have easily spent another hour, my toddler was utterly exhausted.

Our family of 4 had a blast - $30 well spent on tickets and looking forward to coming back next year!

Went to the Fall Festival on a late Saturday afternoon. Paid $25/piece for my partner and I. My first thought upon arriving was that it looked and seemed cute, but then realized it was very much a family (kid) event and not very adult friendly. I wish there were more activities for adults. We didn't have much to do and for $50, I feel like there should've been more than just staring at a few animals. The rest of the grounds is mostly slides and kiddie play areas. Other than that, the decorations are nice and they have really good Apple cider donuts (kinda pricey though).

We also decided to try out the haunted house portion of the farm (Fields of Fear) the following weekend and wow, not impressed at all! I'm afraid it was a waste of money, sadly. Tickets were $40/piece for three attractions (haunted hayride, corn maze, and haunted Forrest). We went on a Friday night when they opened at 7:30 to avoid late night lines and we were wrong. Line was already long when arriving at 7:20. Luckily, they were letting people in before the official opening at 7:30 so there wasn't much waiting there. They give you timed bracelets for each attraction and that was nice. We had no issues with lines at the attractions. My biggest complaint is with the actual attractions.

      1. Hayride-- DO NOT SIT IN THE BACK OF THE TRACTOR! You will never be scared and it's a total waste. The tractor runs through 5-6 "haunted houses" and you know when/where actors are going to pop out. If you're in the back, you see people up front be scared and it's not enjoyable as the actors don't care to scare the people in the back.

      2. Forrest-- Very few actors and not many scares at all. The path is long and has great potential but it felt like there was no one working the attraction. We were only jump scared a few times and even then it wasn't much of a scare considering you can see where the actors are hiding and also the actors are all seemingly 14 year old kids. Not fun or scary at all.

3.Cornmaze-- Was sad to realize this isn't actually a cornmaze. It's simply small houses out in the cornfield where actors (just like in the Forrest) are supposed to scare. It was the same as the Forrest whereas you could see the jump scares coming. Also, they put us in such large groups that you had to wait for the people in the front to be "scared" until it was your turn. At one point we were all shoulder to shoulder just walking through the houses where there was "scaring" going on. Also, I've noticed overall that this place doesn't utilize animatronic hardly at all. They depend on actors. However, if that's your strategy, then put more actors in rooms to scare. Just like in the Forrest, there would be rooms in the maze where there were no actors and no animatronics, just "spooky decor".... Like what's the point in that.

Overall, I'm not impressed at all and I'm sad to say I'm not because I really did have high hopes and really thought this place was going to be fun both times. A waste of $175 (bought food there that was also overpriced and not good) overall. 2/5 stars.
