Really liked the more intimate nature of Fifty-Third compared to a lot of the other larger wineries you'd find in Northern VA. The staff is very friendly and helpful in explaining the wines, and you can't go wrong with any of them! The Chardonnel is a great crowdpleaser for white wine lovers, and the red options are very good. We had some guest winemaker wines (by Joy Ting), and they were very cool to try due to their limited production. Loved sitting outside and looking out across the field.
Bought a bunch of bottles to take home, and definitely will be back when in the area!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John P.Woodbridge, VA257Apr 13, 2024
My wife and I are members of several wineries and this is by far our favorite. Great wine and a great staff. You need to try their taste the future or other special event.

How many times have you gone to a winery and liked everyone of their wines on the tasting flight? Crazy, but absolutely true. I loved Fifty-Third Winery.
The scenery is absolutely stunning. Thank you to Tony, for helping us with our wine flight selections. She was so much fun and her wine recommendations were spot on.
We also ordered a cheese and pepperoni platter. It was very good. The winery looks new and is well organized. Our flight and food came out quickly and efficiently.
This is a bit of a drive, but if you are looking for great wine, excellent service, and tasty food selections, then Fifty Third winery is the place to go.
I also wanted to mention that their prices were great. Thanks Fifty Third Winery for a spectacular time.Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 16Oh no 0 - Nov 11, 2023
Attentive service, beautiful views, nice wines, and still small enough to be "homey" (not overrun with buses of people and oodles of rambunctious children). I am not going to be apologetic about my view on this - while some may like a lot of hustle-bustle and don't mind waiting in lines, masses of people, and a playground full of kids running all over while sipping on a glass of vino, not me. Somewhere betwixt and between is the sweet spot, and 53rd hits it. They allow you to bring your own food (and we did) as nothing beyond small, prepackaged nibbles are offered. However, I would gladly trade the presence of food for scenic views and welcoming hosts with good wines accompanied by a dose of serenity. There is seating inside and out, and wine flights as well as wine by the glass. A delightful afternoon not far from Richmond. Family owned, and by folks who really care about customer service. I'm so glad this sunny (and near-enough) place was recommended to me, and I now recommend it to you, the reader of this review!

I just had to rave about 53rd again!! We have come several times and still love being here...love the wines...the atmosphere...the people who work here! We had a very rough June 30 (our anniversary) trying to find a new (to us) winery to hang for the day. After a horrible experience (at Veritas Vineyards), we knew to come back to 53rd! Here we sat for over an hour and enjoyed a bottle of wine and were encouraged to sit back, relax and enjoy. And so we did! We will continue to come here time and time again! Thank you!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 5, 2019Previous reviewWe have been to over 75 Virginia wineries. We are now soooo excited that this winery, Fifty Third Winery and Vineyard is 33 minutes from our vacation home! We tried 3 other local wineries, much closer to our house, and we were not impressed at all. From the moment we drove in and saw the really cool contemporary building and beautiful vineyards to the moment we stepped inside, we were hooked (of course hoping the wine would taste good!). The tastings are $10 to taste 15 wines! The pours were a very good portion. All three of us loved each and every wine that we tasted. I must say that we have never had that experience before! We absolutely loved the man pouring for us...very pleasant and knowledgable. This made for a great experience as well. After the tasting we sat out on the covered deck and had a glass of wine each. We will be back...with family and friends and a picnic lunch. Can't wait to return over and over again and drink more of this delicious wine.

A winery/vineyard that will always remain in my Top 10. Fifty-Third is really a total package. A vast and quality wine list for anyone looking to have dry reds to sweet whites. Fifty-Third not only has tasty wines but an ever growing footprint. This gives plenty of space indoors/outdoors for wine club members and visitors to enjoy the sites and sounds.
The owner, staff and winemaker are on another level with how important they make you feel while visiting - yet another reason to make a person want to visit and hang out. Zero pretentious vibes here!!
Food trucks and live music are occasional and never make the ears bleed here (at least not during my visits lol).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jul 17, 2021
Beautiful views. We dropped by one day for a tasting. We found one or two of their local varietals to be interesting.
Try a tasting with some crackers and cheese and enjoy their outdoor seating overlooking the vineyard. Come for the view.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Krista M.Henrico, VA1432Jul 3, 2022
This is one of my favorite wineries in Virginia! Great quality so close to Richmond. It's a great way to get out of the city without going to far away. Not only is their wine fantastic, but the scenery and live music make it a great place to bring a picnic lunch and hang out all afternoon.
Make sure you try the Albariño, noche, and petite Verdot!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
