I planned a trip to Holiday World with my family for two days. We chose Comfort Inn because it was the closest chain hotel to the park. We arrived on 6/18/2013 and departed on 6/21/2013.
We faced several issues during this stay.
1. There was leftover chinese food in the room fridge. No telling how long it was there. It stunk pretty bad when you open the fridge.
2. We found a half rotted apple under the couch in the room when we were cleaning up the five year old's legos.
3. Breakfast was more "sorry we are out of" signs than food. We had to end up eating at Mcdonalds for breakfast each day.
4. The A/C in the main hallways did not work. It was almost 90 in these hallways.
5. They did not have any vending service. Only a sign that apologized for the inconvenience and told everyone to go across the street to the gas station. The sign did state that they were changing vending companies, but it was a pretty old sign.
6. The ice machine on the third floor smelled of mildew pretty bad.
7. There was a small blood stain on one of the pillows (drop in size). Threw that in the corder.
8. I had to fix a lamp in the corner of the room in order to get lighting on that side of the room. The bulb was loose, but it was so big that I had to disassemble the shade and shade holder to pun the bulb back in the socket.
9. The floor of the pool was chipping away. You could see visible cracks in the floor. One piece came off and jammed a family member in the toe.
10. Housekeeping did no type of cleaning each day. They only made the bed and replaced the towels. The coffee pot sat there dirty for three days.
11. Wifi did not work properly. Could not stay connected.
All this for $129 a night. What a rip off.
There were other areas of the hotel that had 'sorry for the inconveniece' signs, but I'd had enough and just left for home.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wayne S.Saint Peters, MO411716Mar 26, 2013First to Review
Nice as usual, breakfast eggs-cereal, bread, waffle, etc. Rooms clean comfortable beds, had great sleep...

Breakfast Left much to be desired. Room was not ready on time. And our window had been left open from the day before. I expect a little more effort for $100/ night. I won't be back.

I only stayed here because I was too tired to continue driving.
For $100.00 for a single, I'd expect at least for the room to be reasonably clean. However, I had small bugs in my bed, and the bathroom (while reasonably "clean") smelled terribly of mildew. The mini-fridge in the room ticked like a clock until I unplugged it. Never looked inside, probably best I didn't. The TV remote was covered in a sticky looking substance, so I used a cloth to handle it.
Also, cellular service here is bad, at least it was for me. If you don't have cell service, as I didn't, and have to make a long distance call, it will not be cheap. I was billed $8.79 for a 1-2 min call to my family letting them know I had stopped for the night.
If you like bugs and mildew, this is your kind of lodging.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Austin S.Sparks, NV054Oct 16, 2014
Worst hotel experience of my life. Room smelled like mildew. Blood, black and brown stains on all the towels. TV did not work. I called the front desk and she came to try and fix. She could not, so she offered a 25 dollar discount. In the morning, we went down for breakfast and everything was stale and even the yogurt being served was expired. I went to the front desk to check out and it was the owner/manager. He was too busy on Facebook though to help me. I asked to check out and he said he forgot his password for the computer and to come back later. I came back and he said that he was going to charge me for my service dog if I did not show proof. I told him that was against the law. He said he didn't care. Then he refused to honor the discount the night shift offered us. I told him the tv didn't work and he said he could fix it. I told him it doesn't matter now as we are checking out. It did not work all night. He said that it was not his problem. I said yes it is and this is not how you run a hotel. He told me that it is his hotel and he will run it how he feels and told us to get out or he will call the cops. He said he will not give us a dime off.
