Columbus Garage

I park here whenever I'm in town. Today my car battery died.I called the phone number for Columbus Garage.someone answered Immediately. I explained what had happened . He was at my car within 10 minutes and jumped my battery. He refused a tip. He was extremely pleasant and efficient. I wish I had thought to ask his name. This garage is the best! Thank you very much

Columbus garage is a LIVE FREAKING SAVER. My boyfriend and I were circling around for - not even exaggerating - MORE THAN 40 minutes, looking for parking in the downtown Jersey City to find absolutely NOTHING! We were so tired and frustrated and expected every parking lot around to be ridiculously expensive. I gave this garage a quick call to see if they could tell me the prices, they answered right away - which I didn't expect - and let us know that the rates were $20 for 12 hours and $28 overnight. At that point it literally wasn't even a question, we were headed over the the garage for the night. Next time, we're going here first. Especially if there's a festival or something going on downtown, it's so hard to find parking! Easy payment machine is also accessible on the way out.

I had Triple AAA come to give my car a jump in the parking garage. I called the garage to give them a heads up and explained that I'm a monthly parking member and live in 70 Columbus, at which point the parking attendant (Elias) says there will be an $8 charge, even though the Triple AAA guy will be in the garage for less than 10 minutes. Elias goes on to say only his manager (Perry) can waive the $8 fee for Triple AAA.

Listen, $8 is not alot of money compared to the $240 or whatever I pay monthly for the past 2 years, but give me a break here, a little courtesy would be nice...

Anyone else have to deal with this level of nickel and dime behavior by the Parking Garage?

Lived at 50 columbus for three years and leaving.

Time at the garage has been great. Ilias is a huge help and has made himself available to my wife and I several times (including jump her car once when it died). Can't comment on the attendants but Ilias is super helpful and maintenance guy while quiet is very considerate and both are hardworking.

Required to park here if I live at the apartment, but could not be happier with the professional behavior of those at the garage.

Price is now $15 if you take the early bird special. I used to park at the open parking spot but the cranky guy had way too much negativity to deal with. I rather pay the extra $5 and get a secure covered parking space from Columbus Garage without dealing with negative people in the morning.

Tip: If you arrive at around 9:30 AM, it's best to park at the 6th floor and be closer to the elevator.

Columbus Garage rocks! We were desperately looking for a parking garage after a very long and tiring day and needed to park our UHaul overnight somewhere. It was the only garage that allowed a 9" clearance vehicle to be parked overnight in the area!

I have only parked once here. That was during the "Sandy" , last october.
Its a huge parking lot, probably 7-8 floors. The parking is easy and there is always someone to help with the queries. The parking here, potentially saved my car from flood damage, which happened to most of the vehicle parked on the low lying washington st/blvd and paulus hook area.
Even with no electricity, post sandy, the garage did their best in managing the flow of the vehicles. I was pretty satisfied with the service and would recommend to others.

I parked here before the hurricane hit to prevent my car flooding out or getting blown away. There was plenty of space on the upper levels, and they very nicely gave a significant discount because of the storm. One attendant was kind of despondent, but the one I dealt with the most was patient and courteous even though there were a bunch of people asking him questions. Will be using them for all my future parking needs :)

Nice place to park. Need a change in the management. If you have a problem don't expect it to be solved without being yelled at. Avoid paying via pay stations as it may charge you twice.
