Came here for a friend's wedding this past weekend. It is a beautiful, intimate venue that literally is an oasis in the middle of the desert. The decor was eclectic (mustache toting stone crocodile in the water mixed in with some Mexican decor) but it didn't distract from the overall peaceful ambiance. To add, the couple was able to have both the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception all in one place. The newlyweds did a fabulous job decorating the spot and making it their own. This place was an excellent choice.

Awwwwww.... we totally wanted a destination wedding but we wanted to share all our memories with our family.

We were married March 2nd, 2010 and we couldnt have picked a better place to be married.

Everything was perfect. Except dont expect to get your deposit back unless you hire a cleaning crew that will cost you just about the same amount as the deposit. They should call it a cleaning fee not a deposit.

My husband and I stayed until 12am cleaning up the mess our selves in our wedding attire. Then once we got everything cleaned up we were told we also have to take all the trash to the dumpsters half a mile away. So we didnt make it to our honeymoon cabin till 3am and I ruined my dress with trash because of this.

For the price they should DEFINITELY have included a cleaning fee.
I only write this so that other couples can expect to not get there deposit back or hire a cleaning crew. Either way I felt that we had the best wedding ever.

Corona (showcasing lower teeth and in a Thurston Howell the III voice) Yaacht Club is fun to say. It's a lush oasis that begs to be experienced and fortunately, doesn't borderline campy. For some reason, it reminded me of Hawaii with its setup.

We came here for a birthday party (cousin's wife's cousin's daughter...I hope I got that right). I felt like a little kid having fun exploring the nooks and crannies of the grounds, but I didn't have the chance to see the rest of the place. A walkway built for couples surrounds the perimeter of this beautiful lagoon. Actually, I think the walkways are just wide enough for Skipper to walk through. Sorry, Gilligan.

Benches, huts, a firepit for toasting S'mores, tiki torches, and various live tropical foliage embellish your journey throughout the vast walkway. I remember hearing another party next door, but wasn't sure if it was within Corona Yacht Club's domain or a neighboring competitor. They have two bathrooms for women and one for men, which would be along the path to your left once you enter the main hall... in case you realize that the 10 freeway was much much longer than you expected. I didn't make it and had to go at a gas station.

All of their staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The food on the other hand, was average, but I enjoyed their mini-burgers and chicken quesadillas. I think they may have gone through a vendor for this, so I can't have that impact my review that much. The open bar made my night, but dancing on the dock over the lake and constant laughing with family and friends guaranteed that I had a night to remember.

Party on little buddy. Party on.

*A Note on Directions: After exiting Dillon Rd on the 10 Freeway you'll make a right onto Dillon Road, then a QUICK left onto Vista Del Sur. If you pass the gentleman's club, you've gone too far. We got lost trying to look for (in English) View of the South. Once on Vista Del Sur though, you can then make a right onto Tyler Street. The place is on the left side. You're welcome.

P.S. Here's their website, which I noticed wasn't listed at the top: http://www.coronayachtclub.com/

      First to Review

My first "First to Review" and a "Yacht Club" in the desert; is this is a mirage? After contemplating a visit to an obscure McDonalds or a dodgy hostess bar so I can pop that cherry and get my very own first review; I finally get it by travelling to Coachella.

Usually, it is used as a wedding facility for the nearby residents. However, we came for the Filter Magazine pre-party for our yearly visit to the Coachella Valley Music festival. Warning, my review is slanted because of the weekend buzz from the festival.

Upon entering, we were hit by the many Filter Magazine advertisements but a small price of annoyance for free alcohol. When walking throughout the facility, Cancun comes to mind because of the Mexican style dcor. There is a dock where the DJ was spinning and a big lagoon in the middle of the facility with garden paths surrounding it. Also, there is an open space where the interactive entertainment and a band eventually played. The place looked nice enough for the event, especially with the lighting but probably would go elsewhere for a wedding. However, I'm not sure about all the options people have in Coachella.

The major flaw of this place is there aren't enough bathrooms for the facility, especially for this event. People were waiting in long lines. In order to avoid the lines, I went to a discrete part of the facility so I can avoid them. After the second time paying a visit to this location, a security guard came around and told me to put it back in my pants. Unfortunately, I didn't oblige right away since I was midstream so he had to come a little closer. However, as he led me back to the party, I was able to find out that it is called the yacht club because the previous owner used to play with his model boats in the lagoon. At least, I was able to get some useful yelp information out of the situation.

The facility was alright (3 stars) but the event was a good start to the weekend (4 stars). Highlights were the free drinks and entertainment, the really drunk cougar on the prowl, and the cute Brazilian girl; who I can always count on running into during Coachella weekend :)

I had my wedding here in November 2011. I was not initially excited by the website and photos, but once I visited it in person, I knew it was for me. I had visited countless wedding venues in LA and Palm Springs area. If you are like me: you'll want something in budget / not a wedding factory / unique enough for a lasting memory = CYC fulfills those requirements and then some.

You get the choice of 3 areas OR the entire area: Main clubhouse (with lagoon), lawn area (best for ceremony) and palm court (where you have amazing dinner). They only have 1 event per night so the entire place is YOURS. All you need is typical insurance and security guard (duh).

I can't recommend this place enough. I hear again and again from my friends and family that our wedding was the best they went to (sorry for bragging) but I really feel a lot of it was due to this venue. We rented the entire place, stocked it with our own booze, a great caterer (Crayons Catering in Palm Springs) and DJ, etc.

Also - our pictures came out amazing. You cannot go wrong. Just be sure to rent out the ENTIRE venue.

I had my wedding here on October 25th, 2014 with about 220 people. Because it was a destination wedding it was very hard to plan and I was extremely nervous about everything. However Crystal that works there made everything so easy for us. She was by far the kindest person I have dealt with in the wedding industry. I felt like she truly cared about how our wedding turned out and made everything so easy for us and gave me a list of good vendors and good ideas, she was truly amazing! Also there onsite staff Martin provided everything for us and helped us set up and take down and cleanup he was also great. I honestly can say everyone had the best time at our wedding, everything went really smooth, and the venue was gorgeous! Not one complaint! I would highly recommend this venue for weddings or large parties its definitely a diamond in the ruff!

I attended a family member's wedding at this wonderful venue last year. When I walked up the steps and saw the site for the first time, I literally gasped! Who knew that this beautiful tropical paradise existed? The site is set up perfectly for a wedding! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I misplaced my camera during the event and the site manager found it for me. I highly recommend this little gem to anyone planning to have a wedding or any other private event.
