First and last time coming to this location. Food was served very sloppy. Staff was not pleasant and slow. Food was also not appetizing, as you could see Food from nearby by items in other food trays.

I appreciate having Chipotle on speed dial whenever I'm close to any of their locations. Choose what I want, and one press of a button later, my order will be there ready for me to pick up.
What I don't appreciate is how this Chipotle fell way short of my expectations compared to my usual Chipotle in a nearby city that starts with an L and ends with wood (hint: it's not Lynwood lol). But even if I did live in Lynwood or some other city close to South Gate, I would never make this my usual Chipotle.
To clarify, no I did not drive all the way to South Gate just for Chipotle. Rather, I was in the area to explore a park and pick up a couple of drinks from a nearby cafe. This Chipotle happened to be nearby, and I needed to make an order before the end of the week to score some bonus points! It was my first time in the area, and I wasn't sure when I'd return, so I made it a point to try this Chipotle and see how they would fare.
As I mentioned before, I love having Chipotle on speed dial whenever I'm craving my to go. How do I Chipotle? My usual is a burrito bowl with a tortilla on the side. You might think that's the equivalent of a regular burrito with the tortilla already wrapped around, but trust me when I say I can make two meals out of it. And when you order online, you can also request extras of everything and even some on the side, though they recently limited to three that can be placed in those small cups.
After getting my drinks nearby, I booked it to the Chipotle at Azalea Regional Shopping Center on the northwest corner of Firestone and Atlantic. I requested ASAP pickup, and even though I got there a few minutes before my scheduled pickup time, my order was ready for the taking, though it wasn't on the Mobile Order pickup shelves when I walked in. Rather, I had to ask the cashier for my order, which was behind her. I suppose they keep mobile orders there instead of on the shelves to reduce the chances of stealing another customer's order, but then why even have those shelves there?
I wanted to get a spoon to go with my burrito bowl, but all I could find were forks and knives. No spoons?! Luckily, forks are good enough for me, but I much prefer spoons over forks when it comes to burrito bowls.
While my order was correct, I was disappointed at how they skimped on the salsas and even the sour cream, all of which I ordered on the side. The cups were only filled halfway, and the mild salsa was chunkier than what I'm used to seeing. Not sure why?
The burrito bowl was barely lukewarm at best, and the bowl itself was much less durable! I discovered that there was a slit in the aluminum cover, and the slit was over a ridge in the bowl. The bowl would buckle at that ridge, so I had to be very careful in handling the bowl so as to not let anything spill out. Unfortunate how that lid passed the inspection test because it could easily cause someone's finger to get cut!
And that's not even the end of it. The quality of the tortilla was not there either. The thickness was very inconsistent throughout the tortilla that there were some parts you could actually see through it! I placed my tortilla on one of my dinner plates, and you actually can see the color of my plate through the tortilla! Yeah it was that weak. When I tried to make a burrito out of it, it was literally on the verge of tearing apart!
Quality control is definitely heading south at this South Gate Chipotle. Glad there are other locations that are closer and *much* better. No reason for me to go back to this one. If this location is closest to you, I would highly recommend driving the extra mile(s) to a different location instead to satisfy your Chipotle cravings.Helpful 37Thanks 4Love this 22Oh no 13Business owner information

If I could give them a 0 stars I would! We ordered a bowl and a kids meal to be delivered to me for lunch; i ordered a bowl with rice, chicken, beans, sour cream, corn, lettuce and salsa. When I open my food I there was only chicken, beans and rice! I called and I could not get through! I was able to speak with someone to tell me i needed to contact Uber Eats! Uber Eats did not make my bowl! So they couldn't do anything about it! So upsetting and disappointing!!

Disappointing Experience at Chipotle: Inconsistent Portioning

I dont even know why I even bothered going back to this location after having a bad experience with the same item!! Shame on me for sure. Ordered the small guac and chips, and as I was halfway done, I found a hair in the guac!! I pulled it out slowly, and it was pretty long. Needless to say, I was so disgusted and tossed it out. I'm done with this place.

-ScottJan 18, 2024Previous reviewBe careful when you order take out. My guac was old (definitely looked old) and did not taste good at all. Tried calling them but the customer service number is just an automated system guiding you to place an order. There is no option to speak to anyone. If they know the guac is no longer good, they should not sell it or make a fresh one. Chipotle should be ashamed of themselves for allowing its employees to sell old food that can make us sick. I tossed my guac away. There is no way I was going to eat something that can potentially get me sick.

This place consistently doesn't have any food on their steam table, and are not truly prepared to serve people they had no guac or white rice today. Managers excuse was nobody made it this morning and stated to me that he would appreciate it if we don't order online because it would set him behind.
