Regardless what these Karens are saying on here, this place is the bomb. And since this does not allow someone to say something to another person. I am going to say it now...who goes to a Chinese place for wings, of course they were not right, that is like going to a steak house and ordering fish. This place is the bomb. The only thing I can say is please check your orders, because it seems like they do not.

Fantastic food. I had not visited in over a year, because my first visit was meh. I had a craving for Chinese, and wanted to support my local. It is the nearest to me. Extensive menu. Great service. I picked up and came home. Enjoyed szechwan tofu, curry chicken, and shrimp lo mein. To the person complaining about the wings, it is a Chinese food restaurant. Get Chinese food! It was all wonderful. Either because of new management or new cooking, a vast improvement. If you need Chinese food, visit here. Solid menu. Great food. Wonderful service. My new regular stop!

38 years ago, my wife and I went to China Pavillion for our first date. Back then, it was a real restaurant located on the Southern Bypass. It had table service, authentic Oriental decor and great food.
Fast forward. They have moved, which is understandable. The new China Pavillion only has counter service, although they did deliver our food to our table.
Meals are served in disposable aluminum pans. Flatware is plastic.
As for the quality of the food, I'd say I've had better. Much better. But it was passable. We both has sweet and sour chicken. The chicken had apparently been frozen, but was cooked correctly. The sauce and the fried rice were both pretty good. The egg roll was passable- probably a good solid "C+", but I have had better.
The lady who took our order was pretty bland. We tried to make pleasant conversation with her, but she seemed there to just do her job.
Overall, this restaurant is a far cry from what it was 38 years ago. But if you're in the area and need some Chinese food, it will do.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liu C.Montgomery, AL01Nov 6, 2017

If you like everything covered in oil this is your place. Only redeeming quality is the veggies were crisp.

I've lived near China Pavilion for the last 15 years, and I can honestly say that I only go here out of convenience. You will not find another Chinese/Szechuan style place within almost 10 miles either way, and I ain't one for driving. If another one opened up anywhere NEAR this one, I would bet my left kidney that CP would lose enough business to force a change. Now to the actual food--it is bottom of the barrel mediocre. Just barely edible in some cases, average in others. I've tried all of their basic lunch fare over the years, and i have never finished any of their coated chicken combos because of their strange, "off" texture and smell. They come with sauces that are heavy and sugary, and I can taste no real difference between the honey chicken and the sesame chicken (save the presence of seeds) and General Tso's chicken. The one redeeming food they have is Lo Mein--not overly oily, but not dry. Lost of basic veggies. They do have good vegetable dishes and rangoon, so all is not lost. But on those days where I choose driving versus gambling, I avoid China Pavilion.

The food is decent enough, nothing special. No where near as good as some of the other Chinese places I've had in Montgomery. I work near here so we go here often and the food leaves a lot to be desired. The service is good, they're fast with the orders. They only take cash, another down side for me, as someone who only carries a debit card. Not the best, but not the worst either.
