Exceptional care of my 11 month old daughter. Kind, welcoming and attentive care from the valet person, to secretory, to the front desk, nurses, and physician. All around fantastic care and so happy we decided to go here when our child became ill when we were visiting the area. Can't express enough gratitude.

I would like to provide feedback specifically about the emergency room service at this hospital. While I have had positive experiences with other departments in this facility, I must express my disappointment with the service in the ER.
The wait time at this hospital is incredibly long. We have been waiting for 3.5 hours to see a doctor. After waiting for 2.5 hours, we were finally taken into a room, but now we have been waiting for another full hour with no sign of the doctor. It is currently 2:30am, and we have been here since 11pm. This is supposed to be an "emergency" room, but the waiting times are ridiculous. It is especially frustrating considering this is a children's hospital, and there seems to be no respect for the children or their caregivers. If possible, I would recommend avoiding this hospital or being prepared to wait for several hours.
Additionally, after waiting in the room for over an hour, when we inquired at the nurse station about the wait time, the doctor who happened to be there informed us that she was the only provider on the floor and was working as quickly as possible. However, it was disheartening to see that while patients were waiting for hours in their rooms, the nurses seemed to be having a tea party, laughing and gossiping amongst themselves. This lack of professionalism and disregard for the patients' time only added to our frustration and disappointment with the overall experience at this hospital.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniela O.GA, GA01May 3, 2024
Holly young was very rude made no eye contact. She wouldn't speak to me but to the interpreter when I speak perfect English. Was very ruff with my baby of 11 months. How do you expect for a baby to let you touch them when you are treating them poorly and being very aggressive. Compared to the nurses who were nice on her.
As a formal Choa employee if you can't handle kids DON'T work with kids.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Beth S.Dallas, GA04Apr 22, 2024
Messages by office staff and surgery scheduler in ENT department are not returned, when they do talk to you they are very rude. They scheduled a procedure (BMT and hearing test under sedation) in Duluth and said it was the only place the procedure was done. That was a lie, I found out from a friend who works at CHOA Meridien Mark Surgery Center that the procedure was done there all the time. Dr Berg and Dr Aaron are now at Wellstar, I can take my child there and Wellstar now has a Pediatric ICU. With service like you are giving CHOA, residents in the metro area now have a choice, you are not the only game in town. Dr Bansal is at Wellstar now, along with many orthopods from CHOA.

All i can say is go early an hope to be seen soon , key word hope your child is seen soon because Wheww the wait here is ridiculous . Bring your bags an snacks and be ready to wait because that's all you will be doing is sitting in the waiting room an then 2 more hours once they see you before they send you right on home . This was my second time bringing my baby here , i was there for about a good 5 hours i got there at 6:50pm checking in at 7pm because it took about 10 mins to check in then the wait started i checked out at 11:30pm .

I'm here in the ER with my mentally challenged son and CHOA keeps blaming the state of GA for them not having the proper resources for mentally challenged kids. The psychologist and ER Doctor are say CHOA don't treat yhe mental side of DIGEORGE syndrome. However they claim to have a clinic that provides treatment. I asked for an evaluation they suggested I consult with my sons school. To my understanding is the ONLY treat the medical side and not the mental side. My son has been in their care for over 3 years and they are just beginning to tell me this. This is sad and the state of GA really needs to do better. The doctors here are (pad pushers) they right a thick script every visit for certain.

My 12 year old son was referred by his pediatrician to have a day procedure. Parking was a nightmare, but get there early to park in hospital parking lot. The service was impeccable. Very clean.
They calmed his anxiety with explaining to him every step of the way what was going on, what was about to happen, and how to care for his self (& I had instructions as well).
There was a rehab dog name Chocolate who came around and his caretaker was very friendly. The doctors and nurses communicated very well with each other, which made our stay quick! Hopefully this is helpful for someone to know that they provide great care.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cecilia G.Daytona Beach, FL05Nov 14, 2023
The Brain Unit nurse, doctors and care staff were absolutely amazing with 24 hour care for my son - it was so good that my son actually said he missed being there.

Came in bc my sons pediatrician was concerned about a clicking sound his hips made during an exam so we were referred to come to CHOA for X-rays.
Parking was a bit confusing at first bc you can't really see the signage good on where to turn into the parking garage and just like every other hospital in Atlanta parking isn't free. (Something I'll never understand bc where I'm from hospital parking is free)
I had to go through 3 check in desks before we were taken back to get the X-rays done. The first being the front desk when you first walk in which is security the men were extremely nice and considerate. Second check in was to my left and the women here took my insurance info and background information so instead of filling out a bunch of paperwork I pretty much verbally gave all the info at this point. After being cleared I was sent over to the radiology area which was luckily right across the hall checked in with their desk filled out some forms and after 10 minutes of waiting was called back.
The radiologists were so gentle with my 6 month old and they explained everything in detail I'm sure they could sense how nervous I was about everything but they were calm and made sure to answer anything that possibly came to mind before I left. One of the techs even walked me down to the elevators on my way out still telling me information to be aware of.
I'm glad there's a hospital as diligent as this one I had a really great experienceHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 24, 2022
I am soo impressed with this location! Great protocols and procedures. My son and I were in and out within 1 hour on a Friday night. Everyone that works there is nice and professional. We will be back next time we need urgent care services!
