Chico Lou's Fine Tattoos

Challenging to book with. Took over 3 months to book an appt for 2 months out, then when had to reschedule for COVID symptoms, took another 2 months before I finally was removed from the wait list by the business owner. Poor communication and response times. Lack of desire to work things out with the client.

Sara is the real deal, man. I booked a consult with her after an Atlanta shop canceled an appointment I'd had on the books for 4 months the night before the appointment. I was worried that no one would be able to capture the style I was going for as I felt I'd searched every shop in the metro Atlanta area and never saw the right fit.

From the second we sat down, I knew she got it as she explained the style I was going for better than I ever could have. She was also very respectful and realistic about timeline as I was getting married in the fall and did not want to have a half finished piece or a fresh tattoo at my wedding/honeymoon. I decided to move forward on the spot.

At my first appointment, she worked with me to design and re-design the sketch until she had it perfect. She's willing to put in the long hours on a piece, but is also super efficient. I was shocked she was able to do as much as she did at the first appointment so it looked like I had a "complete" tattoo and wasn't walking around with an outline. She was also super mindful of the positions she was putting me in and when I was in need of a break.

At our second appointment, I thought I was just going in for a quick background fill, which is what she envisioned too. However, when she started sketching out possible backgrounds, she placed this full sunset scene behind it and we were both convinced that's what the background had to be. Despite thinking she'd only have me there a couple hours, she willingly put in a full day of work to get me the tattoo I wanted.

It turned out incredible--beyond what I could have imagined someone executing with my vision. Her mastery of color is amazing and her attention to detail and ability to work on a relatively small scale is wild. I can't believe the detail she was able to work in to the facial features and the planes in the background of my tattoo.

The shop is also very cool--lots of fun decor to look at, clean, and welcoming. All the other artists I've seen and interacted with while there are super kind. Great environment and always happy to support a badass woman owned business. Highly recommend getting your tattoos here.

I can't say enough good things about my experience at Chico Lou's. The shop itself is exactly what you should expect - has a killer vibe, super clean, and just the right mix of music filling the space. The staff is super friendly, all with a great sense of humor, and they all have a great connection with each other that really makes you feel welcome.

Veronica Hahn is a total badass. She took my idea and made the most beautiful piece that I will cherish forever. It was a 20+ year old cover-up that she simply wasn't fazed by, and worked around easily. She talked through her idea and sketch, and was amazing to work with all of the details. I'd been following her work on social and had been on her waiting list, so I knew she would create something great. But, she has a confidence in her process that really sets your mind at ease and you just inherently trust her eye and expertise. Watching her create this piece on my leg was amazing - so fluid and natural, with this amazing eye for shading and contours in blackwork. I'm so grateful for her and this tattoo.

Veronica and Sara share a room to work in, and the 10+ year relationship between them was a blast to see. The stories, the jokes and just the friendship between them made the time fly by. Love Chico Lou's and can't wait for my next piece with them!

So beyond blessed I found this place and Darya to help me fix an older tattoo. All the staff are super nice, and the shop is extremely clean and has such a good vibe to it. Darya took an older tattoo I had and revamped into an entirely new piece that far exceed all expectations I had for what could be done with the original work. She is so friendly, knowledgeable and efficient with her craft it makes sitting for any extended time feel like a walk in the park.

Highly, HIGHLY recommend this place. Will absolutely go back for any future tattoos!

Very professional! And a wonderful woman owned, woman run business in Athens. The shop is also one of the coolest places I've visited. Two dragons on the front lawn and odd ball taxidermy everywhere. I love it! Even with covid, their artists have done their best to get back to clients/prospective clients for bookings. I really appreciate what they've had to do, considering the impact covid has had on small businesses, tattoo shops in particular. Keep doing what you're doing!

You won't find a better place to get a tattoo than Chico Lou's. Sara is tremendous. She's the CEO at Chico Lou's and the best tattoo artist I've ever met. Sara is very professional. She has a firm grasp of the color wheel and I'm talking secondary and tertiary colors, folks. I will never go anywhere else.

10 out of 10 recommend this place. The shop is clean, classy, and fun, all the ladies who work there are sweet and fun but know what the hell they are doing! Veronica was my artist and did a beautiful floral piece for me. She worked closely with me every step of the way to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted (and never seemed frustrated at my dozens of questions! Lol). She had no problem working within my budget and I walked away with exactly what I wanted. Whether this is your first tattoo or you're already covered and just adding to the collection you should 100% check them out

Chico Lou's is the only place to go if you are new to tattoos. Actually I would recommend Chico Lou's to anyone. Clean. Professional. I have seen doctors' office that do not go to the lengths to be clean and safe. Sara was very helpful in helping decide on a tattoo; great design that totally fits my personality...she is a great artist. I look forward to my next tattoo- this could be habit forming!
