First the positive, the sandwich was tasty, good, and consistent with those at other Charleys. My issue was the service, in particular this guy. While he did have the disposable plastic gloves on, I watched him take his ear buds out and then making a sandwich immediately after. So he touched the cheese and the bread right after taking his ear buds out and keep in mind, he is in dreadlocks so who knows the last time he washed his hair. Not very hygienic...

Franchise, yes. Looking past that, however. I got to the airport around 11 am. I needed to eat something to suffice for lunch, so when I so Charley's while headed to the security check point, I took a detour.
Meats and toppings are cooked right in front of you. Fries are cooking behind the line cooks. Oh, and they put their buns through a conveyor toaster thingy to get is warm and soft. I chose the Chicken Philly & Fries special for $5. Sandwich? Tried and true. Fries? Well, I personally am not a giant fan of the thick cut design. They were fresh out of the fryer though, hot and soft. Could have used a bit of salt or seasoning. But not bad at all.
The two gentlemen working the food counter were efficient and fast. No complaints. Hey, when pressed for time and /or destination, I'm glad this joint was a small detour off the main path.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Feb 7, 2013Previous reviewI stopped in at Charlie's on our way to our gate, inside the Columbus Airport. Since our flight was schedules to take off at 2:30, I decided to just eat at the airport, after passing thru security.
This Charley's is located in the food court. The airport was quite spare with people, this I didn't have to wait in line at all! I ordered Charley's Philly Chicken sub: Shaved bed, green peppers, onion, extra mushroom (mmm!!), provolone cheese, lettuce, and light mayo.
It was fresh and hot - had great taste!! I also got a small fries and drink. The fries were steaming fresh. The y had the perfect amount of salt sprinkled on top - not too much.
Out was a great meal before leaving on an airplane :) - Jul 22, 2017
We were stuck in John Glenn Columbus Airport due to a 2 hour flight delay and were looking for something to eat. Charley's Grilled Subs is in the small food court but it applied to all 3 of us and thus became our restaurant of choice. Two of us had their classic Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with all the fixings (lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and peppers) with fries and a drink. My son had their #7 which has 3 kinds of cheese without the grilled onions and peppers.
Charley's toasts all their buns being loading them up with the grilled meat and toppings. All 3 of us thought the sandwiches were excellent. AND -- the fries were hot out of the fryer and were fried to perfection.
For an airport eatery - this is an excellent choice.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ralph W.Saint Louis, MO08Jun 30, 2019

Very good food, very clean, but where is the value? I ordered the Italian for $7.49. That is with no drink and does not include fries. It came with nothing It was $7.49. As I was eating the sub it was very good, it was very easy to eat, and it hit the spot. Those are all great things to experience while eating, But I feel that I could have experienced all those things for cheaper some where else.
I would eat there again if stuck in an airport and its the only thing openHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - A. L.New Orleans, LA103707Oct 7, 2016
The food isn't bad. The cook was extremely nice and even asked us how our food was. But the woman at the cash register was an honest to god nightmare, she rolled her eyes at us when we didn't hear her. Then as I was clear as day ordering, she said with such sass uhh are you ordering?" Nope I just enjoying saying things I want to eat at a louder than normal volume in your direction for fun. We got our food then listened to her complain about the costumers and be rude to others as well. I didn't get her name since she wasn't wearing a name tag.

There arent many options for food in this airport unfortunately, but this place is decent enough. The portions are goos, except for the glass of water they gave me which looked like it was meant to drown a door mouse's child in.
The staff was very personable, though.
The bread didnt look very fresh, but it did taste better than it looked, so that was a positive.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
