This little nine hole golf course can be summed up in "you get what you pay for". It is a golf course great for beginners or someone who just wants to get their golf jones on for a cheap price. It was nine holes for $9. I would call it the last resort, when it comes to whcich golf course you want to play at in the Elk Grove-South Sacramento area.
My friend and I wanted to get nine holes of golf in this morning, but every place that we usually go to was busy and had long waits. I had remembered passing Champions and wondering what the course was like. I gave them a call and they said that there was no traffic on the course. When my friend and I arrived we were greeted by extremely friendly and humorous staff. The price could not be beat.
The course is mostly par 3's with three par 4's. The greens were not the normal grass most courses use, it looked more like the fairway at Emerald Lakes. The fairways were well maintained. The only major problem I had was that the sprinklers were on in a couple of the fairways. I had to time my swing so that I could not get soaking wet. Overall it was a good experience for the price I paid.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jay A.Elk Grove, CA12831Jul 17, 2008
Yes, Id have to agree about Champions Golf Course this would be the last resort place to play a quick 9. The up keep of this course went "south of the border". ( no offense to any one living south of a border) It was like Emerald Lakes before the CSD took it over.
There was no one on the course when my friend and I walked in.
One of my big complaints though was the guessing of where the next hole was and the sprinklers.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marty H.Sacramento, CA0156Jan 28, 2015
I used to enjoy this course in the mid-ought years. It was fairly short, 9 holes, and very creative, challenging, and affordable. And the 19th hole did beers and burgers perfectly. I see from the satellite view on Google it's still there, but wonder if it's for sale? If so, who would I speak to? I'd say it is worth rejuvenating.

Worst ever. Years ago, under the old owner it was great. Since the change of owners, the upkeep is terrible. Wife and I used to play there all the time.....NO MORE !
