The park was deeded to the city by one of its earliest benefactors, Chicago Industrialist, Charles Hosmer Morse. He donated Central Park to the town, but only so long as it is kept as a park. Central Park will revert to Mr. Morse's heirs if the town uses the property in any way other than as a public park.

Running along Central Park is Park Avenue, a street lined with cute cafe's and interesting shops. SunRail operates a rail line through Winter Park on the former Atlantic Coast Line which brought the first pioneers to the area. There is an Amtrak and SunRail commuter rail station located in Central Park.

The 11 acre park itself is large and open with towering trees, beautiful fountains, and inviting benches. My favorite part is the exquisite rose garden with the peacock fountain at the southern border of the park. It's perfect for taking pictures. Many events and activities are held here throughout the year including the annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival, and the Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration. A visit to Winter park would not be complete without a stroll through this historic gem.

5 Stars for a beautiful park on a prime street for shopping, dining, enjoying the sunshine, and festivals!

Central Park is located in the heart of Winter Park (on Park Ave). Park Ave is shops and restaurants on one side and gorgeous Central Park on the other. It's always busy, with people hurrying from one place to another, folks waiting at the train station, and people picnicking by the roses.

The park is also used for Movies on the Park, put on by Enzian theater, the annual Winter Park Art Festival, Christmas performances, and Park Ave Fashion Week, among other things. It's a perfect point for gathering, boasting wide open fields, fountains with benches, a rose garden, and a stage for performances.

This public park is a great way to enjoy the City of Winter Park, without having to spend a dime. Truly a prime picnic location where you'll feel like part of the community!

Central Park is located in Winter Park's trendy Park Avenue shopping area and offers a nice spot to take a break from shopping or to let yourself relax after a fine meal at one if the bounty of restaurants here. You can even chill here waiting to catch a train as the Winter Park SunRail train station connects to it.

If you are seeking a spot to lose yourself in nature, this is not the place, it is little more than an open area with a few benches, fountains, and a nice little rose garden. But it is a great spot to stroll, to step away from the shops and restaurants and grab a bench for a few minutes.

To sum it up, this park is a great fit for this neighborhood.

Central Park in Winter Park is a great way to spend some time outside in the Florida sunshine! There is a big open field with shade, benches, and a stage for events. It's nice to lay out a blanket in the grassy area and people watch. Make a visit to the rose garden when the flowers are in season.

My go-to parking area is in the garage behind Panera. I usually patronize Panera and use their restrooms as well. Keep in mind there are rules on where and how long you can park in this garage. You can also test your parallel parking skills on Park Avenue.

Surprisingly no dogs are allowed in the park area, but you'll see plenty of furry animals on Park Ave.

Meet Central Park-- a cute, quaint, and quite scenic city park in Winter Park!
(I'm not a rapper, I just rhyme a lot!-- accidentally. lol)

Anywho, on my last visit to Orlando with the girls, we meandered through the park (and lost Debbie F. to the Wine Room) when we stopped to smell the roses and admire the view.

Central Park is perfectly nestled into (and bordering) the wonderful cobblestone streets, restaurants, cafes, and stellar boutiques that Winter Park's antique district has to offer.

I've visited Winter Park several times and never knew what I was missing in Central Park-- it's gorge!

Beautiful park for a stroll or a nice picnic with friends and family. It does not allow for pets, so be aware! No pets allowed, even if just out walking them on a leash. The stage is also currently being remodeled, so no live shows currently.

I absolutely love how beautiful and open this park is in the heart of Downtown Winter Park! Even though there's lots of traffic on either side and there's the constant hustle and bustle of pedestrians and shoppers going to and from the many restaurants and shops that line the streets, when you step into this park, you feel a sense of peace and calm. Things just kinda slow down as you walk the paths and see people reading on the benches or enjoying the sun on the grassy lawns. The rose garden has a decent amount of rose varieties and in the middle, is a beautiful peacock fountain. Around the park is also a variety of local artwork that is displayed, some of which puts me in the fall/holiday mood. This park is perfect for relaxing, perfect for working up an appetite before you go to the many restaurants in the area, or perfect for walking off that oncoming food coma after a hearty meal. This park is well worth spending some time here :)

Really scenic, well kept park in the heart of downtown Winter Park. I especially love all of the varied plants from different sponsors in the area, from community organizations to corporations.

The park itself is always kept up and clean. From time to time they have 5ks start and end runs here, which makes for a very scenic run.

Plenty of restaurants, shops and cafes are close by to grab a cool drink or refuel. I suggest 310 South for a stuffed burger, fries and a cocktail! Panera also makes a good to go option if you prefer to picnic in the park without bringing anything to lug around.

      Overall: A
Smaller park, but plenty of fun!

When you are walking around Winter Park and need a green place to sit or take the dogs then this is a nice location. I love the roses gardens. There are some homeless as any park, but I have rarely been accosted for money like in the Orlando city or downtown Daytona. Located in front of the Train Station and surrounded by multiple shops and restaurants. This park is a nice meeting place when needed or to sit in and enjoy the blessings of being in Florida.
