Casa Nori Sushi Bar & Grill

This place is dope!! After a phenomenal dinner experience, it's earned our favorite sushi spot in Chula Vista.

Happy hour Monday through Wednesday is all day. Lucky us, we had dinner on a Wednesday night here. They have HH on Thursday and weekends as well from 4 to 6?

Immediately loved the vibes.

Drinks were great. I loved the mango martini with chili. Our food was just as good. Lemon cilantro roll was the perfect amount of fresh fish, lemon and yummy goodness. The crunchy roll wasn't bad either! I loved how fresh the shrimp tempura is. We also loved the seared tuna nigiri on the HH menu. It was super spicy and had a smoky kick. We loved it!

We were most surprised at the top tier service. All the employees were kind. Everyone greeted us when we got there and when we left. Our food came out soooo fast! I couldn't believe it. All of our rolls were ready within 5 minutes of ordering it. Insane! Shout out to our server Nika. She recommended the spicy ponzu sauce and I loved it so much.

The restaurant is almost like a club. If it's your birthday, there's a mini show with cow bells, a happy birthday sign, lights and all.

We can't wait to come back.

I've been a regular at Casa Nori due to its convenient walking distance from my home and the genuinely great food they serve. However, during my recent visit with my family, I noticed that the service didn't quite match the quality of the meals we've come to enjoy.

On a night that wasn't particularly busy, our glasses remained empty for about 10 minutes. Upon requesting refills for water and my iced tea, only the water glasses were attended to. Despite the restaurant having just one other occupied table, it seemed our server was more focused on her phone than on guest service. Unfortunately, my iced tea never arrived.

I believe in the importance of tipping, so I still left one, albeit not as generous as usual, reflecting the service received. I hope to see an improvement in attentiveness on future visits, as the cuisine is definitely worth coming back for.

Service from the front staff ladies was great and they were friendly. They offered me options as I ordered and were helpful.
The restaurant is always clean and nice ambiance when I stop in. They have great happy hour deals as well. Today I ordered to-go as I live within walking distance, by the time I got home, opened everything and took this photo, everything was still hot! Very tasty and nicely made. Appreciate our local restaurants, thank you!

A great hidden gem on East palomar, this sushi and fun appetizer spot is great for families and friends to enjoy. Portions are big, especially the rolls. They really pack in the fish to the point it barely fits in my mouth in one bite! Grilled salmon was a hit with the 10 year old and nigiri was solid. Lots of seating outside and it's shaded so great if it's hot out but they do have heaters for when it's cold. Great service too, always checking up on us.

Our family had dinner for the first time here and it exceeded expectations. Our waitress name was Carol and she gave the best service. All the food and drinks were fast and delicious. Everyone was kind and fast and we will most definitely be coming again! Thank you Carol you were the best!

Came here yesterday for the first time and it did not disappoint! I got the Torrey Torrey nigiri special and it was sooooooo good. Super flavorful and fresh. I also got a spicy hamachi roll and it was perfect. Fresh, tasty, and there wasn't too much rice on the roll. My husband got fried rice with steak and it was probably one of the best I've had . I wish we lived closer so we could come more often lol but I'll definately make the drive again soon.

We've been coming to casa nori for a while now. We also do a lot of take out from them through door dash.

So location, it's ok. Parking can be hard to find mid day. But there is also a park across the street so you can use that parking there otherwise if you don't find street parking uhmmm good luck lol because there's tons of condos and apartments around it, so makes it a tad hard but not a deal breaker. Walking is good for you

As far as the atmosphere inside the restaurant is a hit or miss, the staff is friendly but busy. Understandably so, though sometimes it seems like the servers friends come to hang out and eat and good luck getting their attention. The music can be so loud sometimes you can't really hear the person sitting next to you at the table. Hence why we do take out a lot.

The food. Here comes the meat and potatoes of Japanese food. While I wouldn't call this authentic sushi by any means, the food is amazing! Their fried calamari never disappoints. We often get the tempura shrimp which is always delicious too. My all time favorite roll that keeps me coming back is their cilantro lime roll and it's to die for! It's soooo good.

As for delivery options I only use door dash and every time I've ordered it comes pretty fresh, some places when you order fried food it doesn't make it home crispy, not from casa nori! That fried calamari always has the right crisp! What I would like to see is that the restaurant allows for alterations to your order in the app itself. Because if we need to modify something (one of my kids doesn't like siracha for example) I have to call the restaurant to make the modifications. They're very accommodating however, it just adds an extra step that could be done on the app otherwise.

Living in Otay Ranch I've seen all kinds of recommendations for sushi places in the area and tried a ton of them but none of them come close to casa nori! They're just that good!

Since we moved homes and the changes COVID brought upon us I haven't been back until today!
I am a long time customer since it was Valentinos and man the food has upgraded for sure! Definitely was impressed with the excellent service and how attentive everyone was to accommodate our needs. The ambiance is still very pretty- lighting and music sets the mood. My boys love basketball so it was nice to watch the game over dinner. Can't wait to come back. Come check it out! You don't want to miss their DAILY HAPPY HOUR (starting at $7 to $11) Monday-Wednesday ALL DAY and Thursday-Sunday 2-6pm!
Their drinks specials start at $5 beer to $8 margaritas!!! The best!
