Staz-a-Licious Bakery & cafe

I saw this bakery while driving. I've never heard of it before, so you know i had to try it... When i walked in we were greeted by the friendly staff.

Its a small bakery that has cookies, scones, quiches, homemade breads, and more. It smells good when you first walk in. Like Grandmas house while shes baking... Lol. Mmmmm. Nostalgia!!

The breads are only $7 for a loaf which is a great deal. I really wanna try the breads the next time. I got a quiche with bacon, eggs, and spinach. It says you can also freeze it for 5 days if you can't eat it right away. It was pretty good with flakey crust. Its about $6 per slice and a whole one is $14, so it made sense to me to get the whole one.

I'm sure I'll go back to try something else. Check them out!!!

Staz-a-Licious Bakery (formerly Carrie's Cakes) has been my preferred bakery over the past couple of years and they never disappoint. Last year, my sister wanted to visit me and celebrate her 45th birthday in Virginia Beach so she sent me a picture of the cake she wanted. I sent the cake design to Staz-a-Licious and low and behold, they nailed it perfectly. Not only was the cake decorated beautifully but it tasted divine.

I ordered my daughter a cake for her 18th birthday in March and sent the designs over to the bakery, and not only did they execute but they also gave us a complimentary "18" cake for my daughter. I thought that was so extremely thoughtful! They are very accommodating to your deadlines as well so if you call enough in advance, they will have your cake ready for pickup by the time you need. Staz-a-Licious has amazing baked goods and outstanding customer service.

I hosted a sandwich blt class, and I needed freshly baked bread. I had always wanted to check out staz a licious, so I headed over there and took a shot; I wasn't disappointed. When I first walked in, I was greeted immediately by the employees and the amazing smells! The young lady answered all of my questions and helped me with my purchase. I ordered the sourdough bread, apple cinnamon Bearclaw, and the Neopolitan. The bread is fantastic, the bear claw impressive, the Neopolitan amazing! I've found my home bakery!

Here is my amended review based on this businesses reply which was to explain it away instead of accepting accountability for not providing the ordered product. And to add to the issue the " missing filling did not keep the cake moist" driest king cake I have ever had. Ended up tossing it the day after I picked it up.

I had been driving past this place and finally went in with all intentions to purchase something......that quickly changed when I seen the flys in the food display case. The employee seemed unbothered but clearly it bothered me so I left without purchasing anything and will not be returning!!!!

I was introduced to Carrie's Cakes recently because my best friend ordered my Hawaiian themed wedding cake through Carrie. The cake topper was a very cool pineapple with amazing traditional almond cake inside, the cupcakes were 3 different flavors (strawberry, lemon, and chocolate) all very moist! We even received a small anniversary cake to take home! It wasn't until after the wedding that my friend told me Carrie's had an entire line of keto treats!!! I showed up the next day and there they were! Multiple cases all with keto treats! I came at the end of the day so naturally they were sold out of most so I preordered everything I could for the next day! I came to pick up my treats and there was some kind of mixup with the order so I was only able to take home about half so they gave me a feee ooey gooey cake! Not mad at all! I picked up the rest the next day and snazzy new shirt!

If you are keto, do yourself a favor and ditch all the Pinterest keto treat recipes right now. Don't even bother, you can't make anything better than Carrie's. I highly recommend the ooey gooey cake! I've literally tried every keto treat at Carrie's and I will be back for sure. THE BEST!

I got a 6 inch cake for my friends birthday. They had a few flavors available which was awesome. The strawberry one was delicious! I got it on the suggestion of the nice women at the counter. It's a cute little place, but she mentioned they also have a cafe at a separate location.

I happen to be in the Virginia Beach area for a quick errand. I needed to try some sort of cake place. Something new was what I needed. So I looked on Yelp of course... I searched cake. I came across Carries Cakes & Confections. There were about 24 reviews and 5 stars throughout. We drove about 7 minutes to get to Carrie's. When we arrived we waited outside for what we thought was a customer to depart. There was a sign in the door that they were on accepting two customers at a time due to covid. Turns out he was an employee. He welcomed us in. I had my two kiddos with me. I bought a pack of 2 lemon cupcakes and a pack of 3 chocolate cupcakes. They were $6.75 totally... DEAL! The cost was perfect! They are your basic size you would make at home. They were moist! The cake was good. The lemon was a light lemon taste. The chocolate was good but reminded me of the Walmart cupcakes I would get from time to time. By the looks of photos their cakes look amazing! I'm sure they do most of their business with cakes. The staff were nice. I will be back. It is nice to know a place where I can order a cake.

My stepmom ordered my dad's 70th birthday cake from here. I picked it up and this was my first time coming here. They had lots of different goodies and u could smell the cheesecake icing as soon as you walk through the door.

I learned that they have keto ice cream...not that this is my thing but I do know people who are on a keto diet. The bakery said they sell out pretty quickly. People order online and pick it up at the store.

Dave wanted to try their lemon cupcake. Delish! We left with 6 lol.

I want to say first and foremost. If you're looking for a bakery that meets your needs, please see Ms. Carrie! She knew exactly how I wanted my cupcake/ cake to turn out. When we had our sit down and tasting, it wasn't all about business. I shared with her that I lost my mom and that I was doing most of my planning by myself. She instantly took over and gathered all of my ideas in her book.

This review is long overdue. My wedding was a year ago. We met up at Starbucks on independence for the tasting. The cake slices she bought with her were so moist. I ended up choosing 3 flavors for my cupcake portion. I commend her because at the same time, she was looking to open up the storefront that's now on Holland rd. She continued to check in and touchbase with me as it got closer to the wedding.

The day of, she came with her family to set up. She was shown the area, and that's all she needed. See the final results. The first tier is a solid almond cake. Second and third tiers are a mix of Irish cream, amaretto and rum cupcakes.
