I had very negative experience with Canada Drives. Vehicle looked great in photos but it had quite a few problems that were not disclosed and that I will probably have to pay myself to get fixed (they are hiding behind OMVIC minimum). Overall the vehicle was neglected. It came with a dirty interior, dirty filters, a lot of work past due, with unsafe brakes (which they covered only ), questionable maintenance history, and old and unsafe tires. So far I am $3000+ in repairs. I really wish I had a chance to read comments before making a decision to buy from CD. I hope someone else would be more cautious and require to see the vehicle first and have a qualified mechanic do an inspection before committing to a purchase.

These guys are rats. Purchased a car in September 2022. Go to pick it up and notice a dented wheel. Notes are taken. Promised are made to make it right. Appt is scheduled at a local mechanic shop to check it out. Yes, dented wheel. Should not have passed Ontario safety. Will need to get wheel fixed or replaced. Needs alignment and balance. Possibly two front tires. Return period of 7 days expires and they are no longer willing to take care of it. Long story short, filing a claim with Ontario court. Reporting to MTO for for falsifying safety certificates.

They offered a higher price online but then call and offer a much reduced price even after confirming all the car information/detail. Their online quote is just to get people to call or apply; it is not reliable.

DANGER!!! BEWARE WHEN BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY!
Got a lot of promises and never once did they keep their word. We were told to pick up car on Saturday, Thank god we were unable to! They emailed us today (day of delivery) an hour before they were supposed to deliver our van, just to let us know THAT THERE WAS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES !!! WHAT?!? They said the car was in perfect condition!! If we had picked it up on Saturday who knows what could've happened! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! The manager Elias was a total joke, don't waste your time with these people, THEY DONT EVEN CHECK THEIR CARS BEFORE PUTTING THEM UP FOR SALE!! Please be safe out there, It seemed too good to be true, and IT TRULY WAS! I wish I could give them -10 stars, what a jokeHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sean E.Roseland, Windsor, Canada03Sep 19, 2022
After trading my car in to Canada drives and buying a car of their website I was still being charged for my old car a month later. I was told I would get a reimbursement for these payments but two months after selling my car to Canada drives I still haven't gotten anything. After emailing back and fourth they just keep passing me off to my previous auto credit company. This has been such a hassle and a waste of time. I regret giving my business to this company.

Hi Sean,
We are sorry to hear your experience was anything less than positive. Customer service is our top priority, and we would like the opportunity to address your concerns. We tried looking you up in our system and were, unfortunately, unable to find your application with us. Our team purchases many trade-in vehicles many of which have a current lien on them. Our priority when we purchase a vehicle with a lien on it is to payout the lien amount and request a lien release from the financial institution the lien was with. A lien release is a document created by the financial institution or bank stating they no longer hold any interest on the vehicle and that the lien has been paid in full. This can typically take 10 business days or more as once they receive the funds it takes a few days for the bank to close out the account entirely. Our team works diligently to get the lien closed out as soon as possible, any payments that may have been made during the lien payout process will be reimbursed to the customer by the financial institution after the account is closed as it is an overpayment on the loan. We are always willing to assist our customers who have made an overpayment on their accounts, please reach out to us by phone and we will be happy to assist you in getting a reimbursement with your financial institution.
Thank you,

What a disappointment....service representatives s/b screaming for training. This Company is a joke. Worse experience, extremely poor customer service. I applied for a specific car (hybrid or electric). After hours gathering documents and documents including documents that was Company's job to obtained, they just wrote an email advising that I was only approved for a maximum amount of $32,000 and sent me a link with bunch of cars older and with more kms than the one I wanted to trade in. Thinking it was the true and there was nothing else to do, I declined the application. Two weeks after I was contacted now by a serious company and I was not only approved for the car I wanted with 0 not $27,000.00 (ridiculous) down payment (Santa Fe 2022 Hybrid), I also traded my son's car for another hybrid (Fusion Ford). I have been in the financial industry for years and never seen such a poor service and lack of training. This Company is garbage and I promise I will make sure that all people I know including peers and contacts that I have in the Financial Industry not to deal with this "Company" again

Hi Jorge,
We are sorry to hear your experience was anything less than positive, customer service is our top priority and we would like the opportunity to address your concerns. We looked into your file and reviewed your concerns with our customer service team. When you applied with us, our finance team worked diligently to secure an approval from one of our partnered lenders. Unfortunately, in some cases, banks will request additional documentation to satisfy any stipulations they may require. If the bank does require stipulations to be met, our finance team will request and send all required documents to be confirmed by the lender. We work with many lenders who help individuals in all different credit situations, we try our best to get each and every one of our customers approved for the vehicle of their original choosing. If we are unable to get the selected vehicle approved by the lender; yet we have the approval secured, our customer service team will send a list of vehicles available on our website within the lender's specific approval parameters. This option was presented to you, however, you ultimately decided to decline to move forward with a different vehicle. We understand your frustration on this matter, and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you have any further questions or feedback please feel free to reach out to me directly.
Thank you,

The air conditioning on my car did not work and when I called them about it, the customer service rep and his manager both said that because it passed their initial inspection they would not cover it. Terrible attitude for a new conpany. I had the car for less than two months. Just be aware that their cars have issues and they will not cover items under warranty and even lie to you that that item passed inspection. Buyer beware, for sure.

Hi Edward,
We are sorry to hear your experience was anything less than positive, customer service is our top priority and we would like the opportunity to address your concerns. I looked into your file and spoke to the customer support team assisting with your concerns. When you initially brought up your air conditioning concern, our team looked into the issue and referred you to the extended warranty provider Global Warranty. Global was able to cover the repair of your air conditioning in the vehicle and Canada Drives agreed to pay for half of your deductible amount. Your concern has since been repaired and your deductible amount has been reimbursed. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me directly.
Thank you,

Canada Drives does more to protect criminals and itself than its customers. Do not use this company.
Recently they asked me to guarantor a loan for a fraudulent account. They initially told me the name of the person who made the request but now are refusing to tell me anything about them. I had to go as far as to hire a PI to get them to divulge information related to me only for it to be so redacted it cannot be used as evidence. They also tried to verify my identity by sending an email TO THE EMAIL LISTED ON THE FRAUD ACCOUNT! This not only alerted the fraud I am trying to find them but will make them act on it. Rest assured the lawyer said he was "very vague which is reassuring since they didn't realize the fraud account might also have a fraud email on it.... The same lawyer straight up told me he wasn't sure why I was told the persons name initially and refused to offer any more help than "go to the police" whom have done little to help. I am now contacting the privacy commissioner to get this information but want people to be aware. This company is all about shady business and will protect them first, not you.
Edit 1: Despite the post below saying they are happy to help, the local police have stated to me they refused to give them any info when they contacted them when I first reported, hence why I am STILL here trying to get it. The officer seemed shocked the PI I hired was also denied the info. So, no, they are not "Happy to comply" they are only happy to now since its public they're being useless.
Edit 2: The reply says their internal fraud prevention measures stopped the transaction, this is also false, the transaction was ONLY stopped when I was called by this company to ASK my permission to guarantor the loan and I was only called BECAUSE there was a Fraud alert on my credit profiles placed by me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Jesse,
We appreciate you bringing your concerns forward, we take fraud very seriously and fraud prevention is crucial as we are an online business. We have many fraud prevention methods in place to deter fraudulent applications and terminate any fraudulent applications that do come through. Our internal fraud prevention measures prohibited the transaction using your information from going through and the file was flagged and confirmed as fraud. We would be happy to provide your investigating officer with anything they need for your case, please have your investigating officer contact us and we would be happy to assist you.
Thank you,

Last Sunday I wanted to purchase a car; so I asked about (a) a specific feature on one car and (b) about receiving detailed documents before the car was scheduled for delivery. John answered (a) details delivered tomorrow morning, and (b) detailed documents available after financial qualification. Canada Drives failed on both promises, despite more phone calls and more empty promises. They seem to be more focussed on my agreement to take delivery of the car than follow through. The reasons can be guessed by reading other reviews on this site. I will never deal with them again. Take this word to the wise.
