Budget Blinds of Lake Oswego

We really gave this company a chance. We ordered blinds and curtains for our living room in January. The woman who came out was very polite and helpful. However, it took several months for our curtains to be installed, which we were told was a vendor issue. We would have chosen a different style had we known it would take months after we had already paid them close to $400 up front. When the curtains were installed, they had been horribly mismeasured and the style we were recommended looked terrible in our home. The man who installed the curtains recommended we not pay until we were satisfied, so we called to have them fixed. Another month or so later, the problem was fixed, but we did have to spend extra to have them changed on our dime. After close to 4 months total and $700+, we had curtains. However, when an end piece broke off, I called and spoke with Dave (the owner) who told me he would order a new piece and I would have it shortly. Since then, it has been over a month and I have not received the piece. I have called at least a dozen times to speak with Dave about this, but the answering service the company uses takes a message and then I never get called back. I feel incredibly disappointed. We have been more than gracious about this company's many mix ups and delays, and I feel taken advantage of because the owner is completely ignoring me. Dave, if you're reading this CALL ME BACK. Ordering the part will take you five minutes. I will be filing a BBB complaint and sharing this experience with everyone I know.

I bet these folks do great work. I'm going to assume that.

But as a novice about blinds, I searched my options and considered:
- Budget Blinds - for budget
- 3-Day Blinds - for speed
- Hunter Douglas installer - for quality

I decided my priority was the "budget" angle. I had one main set of windows to cover, but I was open to also updating a few other windows. I didn't know what I should expect to pay. The person who came out was very professional and showed me some beautiful things, including Hunter Douglas, at which point I asked, "is that budget?"

Anyhow, I so appreciated the professional consultation, the options I was presented with...all good. I chose what I liked, with no conversation about price. And then I got the estimate later that day. 3 rooms for $3k. Ouch. Apparently, I have expensive taste. I was hoping to spend much less.

My husband and my realtor said I should check Home Depot. I was annoyed because I just wanted to go with the estimate I had. But then I did go to Home Depot. And I'm glad I did.

There was a sale on some nice blinds, and I worked with the person there to order window coverings for 6 rooms for less than the price that I was going to be charged for four from Budget Blinds. I had hoped that Budget Blinds would have either asked up front about my budget to make a recommendation that fit my expectations, or, that they would have contacted me within a week or so of providing their estimate to see what I thought. Instead, they allowed time for the other decision-maker in my home (husband) to inject his thoughts and then I actually had a more favorable estimate in hand before they reached out to follow up.

All of this is to say... I'd love to support Budget Blinds. But my recommendation if you contact them is to be clear about what your budget is, and to ask to see options that may best fit your price range.

I went with Budget Blinds because of price...big mistake. Terrible customer service. I had to call to check on blinds. Each time was told, "oh we were just going to call you." First time coincidence. Second time a pattern. Had to reorder due to wrong color header. Very frustrating. Would not recommend this particular Budget Blinds. Another location may be better.

I am thrilled with my Budget Blinds! Budget Blinds covered a total of 14 windows in my home with a combination of Hunter Douglas motorized product and Budget Blind Signature woven woods. The product the designer, Jennifer, recommended is the perfect style, application and color for my home. After a nightmare of an experience with another local company and almost a year in the process of returning and refunding defective and ill advised products, working with Budget Blinds Lake Oswego and their professional design and installation staff has been a breath of fresh air and competency. Jennifer is patient and very well informed about the products she represents. She will walk you through application, function and style with knowledge and has excellent taste. The installer, Derek, installed the products with care and sincere regard for my home and does a masterful job making sure everything is aligned and perfect. The products were all received within the time frame quoted and were installed within a week. I will call Budget Blinds the next time I need window treatments and have already recommended them to my friends and family. Thank you Budget Blinds for making me smile every time I look at my windows now!

I had budget blinds come to my home and I was immediately impressed. The designer had a great selection and she was super easy to work with. I was a little overwhelmed by all the choices and she really helped me come up with something that looked amazing and still worked with my VERY active household. The install went smoothly and most importantly, I felt comfortable with him in my home. I would definitely recommend them. Price was right, consultation was extremely helpful and the installer was awesome.
