Bua 9 is our go-to Thai takeout spot. Very convenient for us to order and pick up. Always fast and friendly.
I feel badly for not taking photos but you can see plenty on other reviews. Pictures of take out packaged food never really does justice to a restaurant so let's just get to the food.
Reliably good. My better half loves Pad Thai and is never disappointed with it at Bua 9. She likes a little zip in the seasoning but not too much so 1 star heat is just right. Some places seem like they use catsup in their Pad Thai which we both hate and thankfully Bua 9 is not one of them. :)
I like big fat egg noodles so Pad Se-Ew for me. Good stuff. I'd like a little more egg and other goodies but the heart of it - the noodles and sauce are good.
Tried the Catfish Prik today - savory good.
We've had a good number of their dishes over the years and it's always been solid.
Not exactly where you go for a romantic night out in terms of ambiance but with that in mind - they always come through.

Not much atmosphere, but the food and service are on point. Great neighborhood Thai carry out. Loved the Pad See Ewe. Great egg rolls. The garlic noodles were a little underwhelming. Not bad just bland. People were very sweet.

Really great neighborhood Thai spot!
We usually order to go and phone ahead. This time we dined in and got the garlic noodles and khao soi for lunch. Would highly recommend both dishes and also recommend getting the khao soi at least a little spicy since it tends to lean sweet otherwise. Also their spice level have been pretty true to level imo which makes me happy since it's hard to find places that make things spicy enough.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jacqueline W.Seattle, WA0225Jul 9, 2023
Our go to Thai spot. We've gotten take-out here so many times and it's good and consistent.

I love Bua 9. Best Thai food in the city. Even though I move away from CC, I still manage to get my fix. Peanut sauce is a banger and generally there's nothing I wouldn't recommend. Go here and take ya mama!

These are perfected, generational recipes from a beautiful group of folks. Mad respect for the crew! Thank you for filling a missing piece in my tummy that I miss from back home (LA has bomb Thai food -- Bua 9 is on this level). Chat with the staff too, they're super sweet!
May 1, 2018Previous reviewYum! Fresh rolls are delicious and piled high. Peanut sauce is arguably the best on the south end. The staff (potentially the owner) was so kind and friendly. Give this place a try! Also had stir fry cashews with tofu which was very flavorful. The brown rice is a deep purplish brown that is so good. This is my new go-to for a late lunch.

This is our go to Thai takeout place bc it's in walking distance for us. The food is super solid, and though it's not the cheapest, the quality feels worth it for the price.
We've gotten the pad thai, Larb, Tom Kha, pad kee mao, and pad woon sen on different occasions. Everything was pretty good, fresh, and not too greasy. It's worth checking out if you're hankering for Thai food and are nearby.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nikhil T.Seattle, WA034May 21, 2023
Returned here after two years. The appetizers - spring rolls with plum sauce and fresh rolls with peanut sauce- were nice.
However, the entrees - yellow spice chicken fried rice, and cashew nut chicken - were both incredibly hot. This is when I ordered only three stars in spice level. We eat Thai food all the time from hole in the wall places, so it's not like we don't like spicy food. Another thing we noticed was that the entrees didn't really have a lot of chicken. We couldn't take leftovers - it was that hot.
I think they could also improve the service. We will gulping down our waters, and they should've just refilled it once without us, having to flag them down.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nittaya S.Seattle, WA711565Aug 15, 2023
I really wanted to like this place due to representing my culture. I showed our waitress what I wanted and didn't receive it. I wanted the papaya salad with the boiled eggs and extra veggies in and on the side along with the fried pieces of protein. However, I just received papaya salad. It was very salty, no flavor. The pad Thai was soggy and had absolutely no flavor. It was more ketchup flavor than tamarind and lime, plus 4 pieces of green onions. There was no presentation or flavor into their dishes. Thai/Laos dishes have lots of greens. Thai tea had more milk than tea. I cannot recommend this place.

Not impressed with Bua 9. First, this is the most expensive and overpriced Thai food I've ever had. I've gone to more fancy, upscale Thai restaurants and they are cheaper than this hole in the wall. Almost $19 for pad Thai is a ripoff. There's almost no protein in the dish and it was extremely spicy even though we asked for mild. The service was not good either. I think they should focus on take out and allow people to order at the counter and seat themselves. I definitely won't return for the main reason they ripoff their guests with the overly inflated prices.
