Braid Masters

Went there in August for braids they did a fantastic job now I need it taken out I wonder if this is something they do also ????
Went back last week and had my braids taken out only cost $60,00 not bad, they even washed my hair and offered to braid my own hair at no additional price!
I really like this place located at 52nd & LancasterAve.
Located on the second floor, The ladies do a fantastic job and they do all kind of braids , althought I didn't understand their language which I think is French they do a good job,if u want some great braids check them out bring your own hair color are limited

They use to do an excellent job which is why I gave them 3 stars instead of the two they deserve but pricing , work and time haven't been consistent. I got my hair done in May after not having braids for a few months same style and length I usually get they charged me $250. I got small butt length knotless which was only $50 more than what I used to pay them so I didn't mind. I recommended my friend who went the following week she got waist length and medium they charged her the same price?! I went back in July for cornrows (2 layers) and they tried charging me $270 which is insane. I ended up getting boho knotless instead of cornrows bc who's paying that for a style that doesn't last as long ? They charged me $300 for shorter and bigger braids and some of my braids had knots. I also was getting my hair done from 8:30-7 which was way too long.
If they could keep consistent pricing and not try to add knotted braids to a knotless style I would recommend them to everyone but every time my friends or myself have patronized this business the pricing is NEVER consistent and lately the braids have been mediocre. Ladies take the trip to NY where the braid shops will braid your hair to the ground and get you out in no more than 6 hours for the price of $200 any size they are all over NYC and we'll worth it

Call ahead of time

I got some knotless individuals. Firstly they slayed my hair. This was the first time I've gotten braids and the next day was pain free. Quality is amazing. It's a small no frills shop so go in knowing that. The quality though is really singular.

So I have been coming to this place for about 3 years now and absolutely love this salon. This is one of the most professional and clean salons I have been to and I am so glad I found this place when I moved to Philly.

My stylist is Bintuo and she is very sweet and does a great job with my hair. I've had her do my Box braids, Senegalese twists, Kinky twists, Crochet braids, and Marley twists. She also works with your schedule and is very timely. ( No 10 hour braiding sessions, I just don't have the time or patience for that).

I also appreciate her professionalism. She doesn't chat on the phone the entire time or stop braiding in the middle and ask me to pay, or have me hold her messy cheese curl eating child. Yes, I've experienced those things from other salons (craziness) so this place is truly a breath of fresh air.

I've recommended 2 friends and my sister and they all loved their hair as well. Next style I'll be getting is Marley locs. Can't wait

I love this salon! These women are FANTASTIC! I've been coming here for three years and I always bring my own brightly colored hair that I order online and they never give me a problem with the texture or length! They're fast as well, the blue braids I got only took 4 hours. Can't speak highly of this place enough!

Braidmasters definitely slayed my hair and I love my jumbo marley twist. I came here a few weeks ago because I knew a couple of people who frequent the shop and I saw that their work was pretty good.

Braidmasters definitely lived up to the hype. I'm not sure of the ladies names that did my hair, but one thing for sure, they did not come to play! they came to work, and it showed. I was in and out the shop in less than 2 hours, plus I still have my edges and they won't literally snacthed!

Overall I would definitely be coming back soon to continue putting my hair in protective styling for the summer. The service was friendly, professional and of course quick and fast for braids.

This is what I left out with after paying $180 plus a $30 tip for accommodating my need to be in and out in 2 hours. I asked before sitting down if it could even be done in that amount of time and was told yes when the answer was clearly NO. After not being able to fix it myself I was told I'd have to pay another $80 to fix her mistake. I will NEVER use this salon service and if you're reading this neither should you! Unprofessional loudly talking to each other in my ear the entire time, just an all around horrible experience.

I have visited this place twice and guess what? I have allll my edges (if you get braids you know what I'm talking about), I have fine hair so this is a big deal to me. So far I've done cornrolls and crochet and both times I've been out in an 1-1.5 hours. Highly recommend! They will have you in and out!

It's been said, " first impression is the lasting impression", and I can tell you Braid Masters left an exceptional one. Bintou was very patient, kind, and gentle. With little edges, I first came to the shop so that she could consider the condition of my hair as I requested crochet locs. Bintou was able to honor my request and did an amazing job!
