The fridge at my rental condo would randomly pool water in the freezer and then drip onto the floor. Living 4 hours away, I was unable to go there and diagnose the issue myself. My tenants had tried the usual tricks of turning off water to the ice maker and also making sure the fridge was level, but nothing worked. Water would still pool up and drip to the floor.
I called Boston & Cambridge Appliance repair and they had a guy out a few days later (it wasn't an emergency so this was fine). They arrived slightly late, but my tenants work from home so it was fine. They resolved the issue in under an hour by unclogging a condensation drain line. The cost was reasonable and I would use them again. The office staff is friendly and the tech seemed knowledgeable according to my tenant. My only complaint is that they did not contact me (the landlord) as i had requested. However my tenant kept me notified about what was going on so all worked out fine.
This company seems honest and the prices are reasonable compared to some other companies that will try to rip landlords off.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John K.West Town, Chicago, IL2423Feb 28, 2024
I recently contacted this company for a dishwasher that was not draining. Was able to get a technician within 24 hours which is amazing. Technician came on time, with a 15 min heads up and was extremely professional. Fixed the issue within 15 min and only charged a reasonable service fee.
100% would use this company again for any appliance service needs!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicolas C.Cambridge, MA374Aug 5, 2023
B & C saved us when we were on vacation and our washer started leaking, creating a minor flood.
Their service is outstanding and prices are very reasonable.

My landlord called them for the dishwasher, and they sent a scumbag who constantly complained and insulted me as I tried to fix the filter and didnt put some pieces bad.
He put them back in two mins but complain and shittalked for half an hour. When the landlord came, that doublefaced piece of **** became the "kindest" person.
He probably charged for the initial work which took him 2 mins but kept complaining.
This company may wanna train their employees for client interaction so their repairman wont constantly bark at the clients.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bucking H.Stoneham, MA01Mar 21, 2023
I called this Appliance Repair Company in the Morning after getting the run around from Home Depot on my just expired warranty and Frigidaire. The Tech named Jay was here in the early afternoon, very professional, diagnosed and repaired my fridge in about an hour, great service, great price, I would highly recommend..

For those with water dispensing issues with your fridge, simply turn up the temperature on your fridge to let the water defrost and run again.
Our fridge intermittently stopped dispensing water so I messaged Boston & Cambridge Appliances on yelp to come fix it. When he first got here he claimed the switch for the dispenser was broken so he changed the switch for $219.70. Of course that wasn't actually the problem as it still worked intermittently after that. I told them and he came again to replace the inlet valve for $97.75. And still the dispenser worked intermittently. I didn't want to waste any more money with them so I didn't call again. However, I realized the fridge temp was set very low, so I raised it and the water dispenser worked again. My property manager said I got scammed and that changing the fridge temperature is the first thing you do to check if that's the problem.
Then I called GE and they sent their tech. The mechanic said that the guy (at Boston & Cambridge Appliances) didn't know what was wrong with it so he was just replacing parts randomly and driving up the bill.
If your fridge is broken you should call your fridge manufacturer first as they should have their own technicians who actually know what they're doing at a fraction of the cost.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jules B.New Hope, PA03Mar 25, 2021
My front load washer stopped working so I was delighted that BCAR could come quickly and the technician turned up on time. He was friendly and polite. That's the one star. After that, however, it was a complete waste of time and money. After pressing a few buttons the BCAR technician announced it was the control board and it was uneconomical to repair ($409-$600 quote) and I needed a new washer. I asked a few questions about draining etc and he just smiled and restated no, needed a new washer. I paid the $89.95 call out fee. When he left, I noticed a Samsung customer care call number (I wish I had seen this earlier). I called and it took two minutes for the technician to get me to drain the drum, clean the filter and recalibrate the machine. It is now working perfectly! I would NOT recommend BCAR.

Honestly don't bother, they do not know what service is. Do not waste your time they will just hang up on you I called to ask if they can provide assistance with a drier and explained where it was leaking and they hung up

My fiancee and I recently discovered the hot water setting on our washing machine wasn't working. Naturally I went to Yelp to find local repairmen with good ratings. I stumbled upon Boston and Cambridge Appliance Repair. When I called they were professional and courteous and scheduled an appointment that week.
The repairman had to come by twice. The first visit he diagnosed the problem fairly quickly. The washing machine needed a new part which he had to order. Boston and Cambridge Appliance Repair called right when the part came in a few days later and scheduled a follow-up appointment. The same repairman came back, installed the part, and gave me advice on how to avoid the problem in the future. They gave prompt and professional service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joshua G.Cambridge, MA277Feb 22, 2017
Great, quick fast, and fixed the problem. In and out in 30 min and everything is working great.
