Probably several years overdue but every time I take clothing out of my dresser I remember shopping at Blessings and how kind the 'lady at the counter' was. They even delivered my purchase for a minimal charge. Blessings is a blessing . I've shopped there often over the years & love the new location. Bright and spacious, clean & tidy.

Nice variety of items with great prices. Staff was very friendly. Shop is set up like a boutique.

I have been in blessings when a young woman was walked all thru the clothing department by a worker there in an effort to find her the exact outfit. Apparently she had an interview and had nothing appropriate to wear to it. Blessings helped her out at no charge. I have heard other stories like this also. Bring your things to blessings instead of places like Good Will where the salaries of the management are huge.

Oh all right. I've decided to stop being selfish and share my favorite thrift shop with you all ... but if the same thing happens as last time I did this, (i.e. it gets so popular that they get all snooty and overpriced and have a bunch of bored rich women working there looking down their noses at the shoppers), NEVER AGAIN! But I don't think it will, not these folks. That said...
You guys ... THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB! It's like the thrift shops that we used to love all those years ago; there to help, not to make a fortune. What took the joy out of other shops for me was that they took away the thrill of the hunt. They brought in people to research every item on line, and anything wonderful would be marked sky-high and stuck in their "boutique" section or whatever their store called it. NOT HERE. At Blessings they just gratefully take in donations, mark FA-BU low prices on them, and put them out there. Everything from jewelry and clothes to kitchen goods and furniture CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! I got a 3-pc white leather lounging sectional couch in great shape for (are you ready?) $49.00. No typo: FORTY-NINE. Delivered. Set up. AND the old one hauled off. All included. I also got a Lord & Taylor brand new beautiful white cotton nightgown for 3 bucks. AND an Eileen Fisher like-new two piece top set for 5 dollars.
Now granted, I go most every day, I spend a LOT of time looking, and I NEVER insult them by trying to talk them down on anything. (And SHAME ON ANYONE who would!) Sometimes I hit a dry spell that lasts a couple weeks. But the people are SO nice (waving to fellow Chihuahua mom Linda here) and helpful and friendly and just plain wonderful, I don't mind dropping in even when I don't make a great find.
PLEASE, real bargain hunters, encourage thrift shops that still exist because they CARE. Donate to them, shop there, and yes, durn it (sorry Linda) (they ARE a church shop) I guess you might as well tell your friends. Hey, let's hope more shoppers competing also translates to LOTS MORE GREAT AND GENEROUS DONATIONS.
Thanks, Blessings; you all are the BEST and a definite blessing in my impoverished life!!
