I really don't know why anyone would take motorcycle training elsewhere, as Black B.A.G. is as good as it gets, and Bob Frank is one of a kind. Oh, Black B.A.G. is now located in Thornton and not Lakewood.
This weekend I attended the Basic Rider Course that was taught by coach extraordinaire, Bob Frank. I consider him the "rain man" of the motorcycle world, because he probably knows more about motorcycles and motorcycle safety, then any other human being on the planet. I'm not exaggerating. My class had 6 people, and was told they limit the class to 8. Most other places have 12 to a class. That meant I had a lot of one-on-one time if needed, and more practice time. Also, the cost for the two day BRC course was $180 ($150 for the weekday class). Compare that to the price of other local BRC classes, and you will find it is substantially less. Black B.A.G. is also on the DMV's preferred training facility list, and the course allows you to test at the class, and if you pass, present your card to the DMV and you get your endorsement. Woot!
The class is NOT easy, and was the most physically and mentally draining thing I've done. It was so worth it though. I met some wonderful people, and Bob is a great resource for any rider. I went in the class with NO motorcycle skills, and left with tons of knowledge and skills, and passed all my exams. It has also changed my mind set when I drive my car - all around a better driver.
They also offer the Experienced Rider Course, Introductory Course (to see if you like biking), and many other safety courses. This place is top notch and blows all the other places out of the water (I researched them all).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Craig C.Thornton, CO055Sep 29, 2022
Bob is a great teacher and trainer. Both of my sons (at different times) took the driving portion of the motorcycle test with Bob. I highly recommend Bob if you need to take the driving portion of your motorcycle test.

Bob and black bag was a very good experience for me. I have riding experience so I scheduled a dmv riding test and bob made everything very clear on what was passing and what was failing. He made sure you were completely comfortable before you start your riding test. I'm glad I went to black bag and would recommend this business to anyone. Thank you

Bob, was very unprofessional. Cancelled my course after asking a question to clarify since his obstacle riding course is not marked very well. Would not recommend...

I have never ridden a motorcycle before this class and was very nervous from the get go. I signed up for the basic rider course because I have been saying I wanted to learn for years now. I finally took that first step and called to make a reservation, in the middle of winter. Once the weather cooperated I was put in a weekend class and off I went. It was amazing! Educational, comfortable, enjoyable and full of good information. Out of 6 I was the only person who had never rode before and I was also the only female. I never felt intimidated, uncomfortable or disrespected. I was actually encouraged not only by the instructor Bob but also my peers. I did fail my first test, and you can only test once in a day. I was so bummed but we rescheduled and the next time I passed!!!!
Very little classroom time
A lot of riding time
Knowledgeable information from a skilled instructor who is passionate about motorcycle safety.
Treated with respect and as an adult, never talked down to
I am lucky to have been introduced to Black B.A.G. I question if I would have gotten as much out of any other course.

Took my endorsement test here. Was given some practice time on the course with a few tips to go with it! The facilitator even helped me with a low tire he noticed after the test. Highly recommend this place.

I have ridden dirt bikes and little 110s so I had some experience on bikes. I recently purchased a street bike, but street riding is much different than trail riding. I decided to take the weekend beginner class and Black Bag was recommended to me. I am so glad that I took the class. Bob is an amazing instructor, with a fun personality. He is very serious about riding and riding safely, while still making the class fun. I feel much more confident about getting on the streets after taking the class.

Can't say enough good things about Bob. I went thinking I would just be taking the riding test. I left far more knowledgeable about safe riding techniques, avoiding obstacles and nuances of riding in traffic. He was patient, positive, reinforcing and encouraging while I practiced and took the test. Although I now have my endorsement, I will definitely go back and take the full course.

Business hours are advertised on their website as 6am thru 8pm. I went there at 1:30pm to pick up my required handbook...doors locked, no one there. A waste of my time and gas. I decided to cancel my registration, and after 4 days had not received a refund. I called at 7:15am to ask for my money, no answer. I received a text back saying I had never asked for my money back, that's why no refund, and made a comment that I called before they opened. I CANCELLED MY CLASS! Why should I have to ask for a refund? I called over an hour after your advertised opening time by the way. If you're never going to be there, you should put that on your website. I never even set foot in the place, and I'm extremely dissatisfied. If I decide to take a class in the future, I will spend the extra money to be taught by a professional business.
