What a great experience im not sure why the bad reviews ? the owner was very nice to me ! They are so nice and they took me right away no waiting. Very reasonable prices and so close to my house too ! Margarita did a fantastic job on my color and even cut my bangs for free which was so nice of her cuz other places charge for bang trims ! She was very careful when cutting them too and checking with me and asking if i wanted her to trim more or to stop which i appreciated . Thank You Margarita ! :)

Wow! I stopped in for a wash/cut without an appointment and they were so accommodating! They washed my hair and then even massaged my shoulders! My haircut is perfect and the gentleman blew dry and curled my hair! Nice music, nice vibe, very kind folks and a great cut/style! Thank you!

Stopped by to get a quick trim.
I was surprised. The service was GREAT . The lady who shampooed my hair was very nice and after she was done she even massaged my head and neck /shoulder area . I then went to Leos chair . He transformed my nappy looking hair .I walked out and my daughter was surprised how nice it looked and asked how did he dye my hair so fast . He brought life to my hair !!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katherine H.Walnut, CA549267Mar 26, 2021
I've been here two times now. I enjoyed the A-line cut he did for me the first time (even though that's not really what I asked for...). I appreciate how nice he is to my mom and me. Also, his rates are cheaper than most places for just a haircut/trim or coloring. Cheap, however, doesn't mean quality...
Disclaimer: I'm not super experienced with getting my hair dyed, dyeing hair, or dyeing hair techniques. What I know comes just from watching hair stylists on the internet.
I showed him pictures for chocolate brown hair and lighter brown balayage. What I got was messy yellow highlights on my existing brown hair. If you want to look like a bee, go right ahead and get your hair done here, but I personally don't prefer it.
Another preference of mine, if not a standard in this industry, is a proper consultation stage. Communicate clearly with your client before moving forward into coloring. Here are the benefits. Clear communication minimizes the amount of surprise at the end if things don't turn out the way you like. Transparency on the whole process of treatment also minimizes confusion, giving your client a lot more peace when said client is sitting through the process. For my first experience coloring my hair (at Salon Paz, highly recommend), my stylist made sure we were on the same page, which gave me a lot of peace, taught me a lot, and I couldn't really complain about the result at the end because it was pretty close to what we discussed. I didn't get that here, but it's hard to expect that from the 2 Korean stylists whose native language is not English... Just keep this in mind, if you go in, to ask him/her thoroughly to what level of lightning they are going to achieve with the bleaching and what color she/he's planning on putting on your head to get what result and how they're gonna do all that... or just go to a different salon man. This is too much to expect from them.
Balayage has precise application techniques to get that fade into a different color. I didn't feel that on my hair or get that result. Leonard bleached sections of my hair with a slap on technique that I find very dubious if not wrong. It basically results in these highlights that have a unnatural horizontal line demarcating where color change happens near my roots. I wanted a root shadow :( so that it grows out easy and balayage around my head, not highlights at my roots, sigh. What a waste of money, mistake on my part.
Lastly, the color treatment process was painful on my head. Leonard and the lady, while very nice and mild-mannered people, are very rough when it comes to work. They tug, scrub, and push around your hair. It was not comfortable to say the least and I was actually worried about my hair/hair follicles being even more damaged through it all, especially after they had just weakened it with bleach.
There's more I could say, but they are more fine details, nit-picky complaints on my end. In general, I'm sorry to say... I would not do business here again if it comes to getting a hair dye/balayage done. Cuts may be fine though? It's okay, you live and you learn. And I hope this review helps.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Daisy M C.Walnut, CA11141Feb 21, 2022
I visited this salon every few months. Their price is really reasonable and they are very careful with Covid precaution. Usually there is only one or two customers so a lot of social distancing. Everyone wears mask at all time.

Leo does a great job cutting and styling my hair. I love it! His lady assistant massages my hair gently and even adds a little massage on my head and neck/shoulder area. (If sometimes he says something that might sound rude, I attribute to cultural differences and it's no big deal.)

This is my 3rd time here. And honestly it's an okay experience if you don't really care about your hair. Like I went in for a trim, the guy called me "not skinny?" Which like okay dude. Fair, ya girl is thick. But, rude. Also he cut all my hair off. My shoulder length hair is now jaw length and in an a-line...which I did not ask for. He clearly just did his own thing. And in all fairness it's a nice haircut. ITS JUST NOT AT ALL WHAT I WENT IN FOR. So months of hair masks and supplements to get my hair length long and healthy and...I'm right back where I started. But I'd like to reiterate, it's a nice haircut. Like it looks really good, it's just not what I asked for. Update. I've come home to style it and it's.... it's so much shorter. I went from being able to throw my hair in a bun or ponytail, to now not being able to. I understand trimming hair means cutting off dead ends but I DID NOT have 3-4 inches worth of dead ends. After a year plus of trying to grow out a pixie cut, this is infuriating. To finally have length and then have someone take it because THEY thought it would look better? It's disgusting.

My son & hubby's go to place when they need a haircut. The gentleman with curly hair is very skillful and stylish. I highly recommend this place. Two thumbs up!

Probably the most uncomfortable haircut experience I've ever had. Although I like the end result, I won't be coming back.
Pros
- Quick service. Appointment available same day.
- Good eye for style and framing.
- Reasonable price ($25 long hair + layers).
Cons
- Rough on hair, lots of tugging and pulling when brushing, blowing, and layering. Layering scissors may have been dull.
- Stylist kept pressing hips forward when in front of me. Felt like he was humping my leg. It wasn't sexual, just really awkward.
- Asked for 2-3 inches off total length (not including the layering). Took off closer to 6 inches.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
