Drove 30 miles, arrived at 5:25 to a locked door. Hours sign said 6 and the open sign was on display. Lucky they had a find us on yelp sticker on the door to send me here.

I love how only bad reviews are displayed on Yelp and zero great ones are displayed unless we pay for advertising. TIM... We are very sorry you caught us when we in the back of the building, as you can see the open sign was on and we were open at that time. Please accept our apologizes and hope to see you soon. .

My name is Monica and I really appreciated the business with you today and I do think you have a really nice place there and seems pretty friendly to me. Thank you very much for taking time to help me and I do plan on coming back for future planning.

it's already said, but the owner has a terrible business model. The store is completely without any real organization and the prices are outrageous for the most part.
The man did tell me about how he looks on EBay for prices, and apparently he does pick the highest imaginable price. He does not show any regard for quality, and half the time you see something in the store you can find it at a reputable store much cheaper. A good example is video games. I saw stickers on the video games there that I found cheaper, new, at Gamestop or Walmart.
On top of this the man is incredibly rude and shopping there is uncomfortable. He seems very suspicious and aggressive when asking customers if they need help. On a recent visit he looked at me while assisting another customer and rudely asked, "Can I help you?" and completely ignored the customers in the middle of him explaining something. I left the store after this and isn't the first time I've noticed him doing this.
Without a doubt this is the worst pawn shop in the Peoria area. If you want to go to a quality pawn shop in the area A-Z is considerably better, as is Adams Street Exchange and R & B Pawn Shop. At least they have better prices and an actual pricing model instead of arbitrarily placing prices based on EBay listings that probably didn't sell anyways.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Josh E.Peoria, IL011Jan 16, 2012First to Review
The prices here aren't good. On most items the guy just looks up prices on eBay and gives you the price of the most expensive listing, with no regard for quality. If you attempt to negotiate, he gets angry. He got irate with another customer because the customer wanted to return a piece of equipment that didn't work when he bought it. So, the prices are above market value and the staff is quick to anger. In my opinion, those are valid reasons to stay away from this place.

We treat all our customers like Family here in our store and welcome anyone to stop in and see for yourself we are nothing like this person has posted. We never get angry with anyone and will try to help anyone we can find that special item, even if it means sending them to our competitor if they may have it in stock and we know it. Obviously this post is all about attacking our business when he was asked to leave for being rude to us and other customers shopping.
