Q:
Pet friendly? How much for 1 bdrm? Any lofts?
A:
Hi Dianne! Yes, it is Pet-friendly, no lofts, and for a one bedroom, not sure. I was renting a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom for $975 which went to $995 in the new year because of the extra city fee that was split between tenant and management.

I find their recent business business practice of raising the rent ($55) a month DISTURBING to say the least. At this time COVID19 and businesses are closing down, not mention oil prices have dropped and oil companies are laying off. Their justification for raising the rent MINIMUM WAGE HAS GONE UP!
It's a nice place to live the old management was great (don't know about the management yet) maintenance is great always helpful.
As a long resident I find this practice disgusting!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marilyn M.Bakersfield, CA32232Sep 19, 2020Updated review
When I moved I spent 2 and a half days cleaning, it was spotless, they came in and started writing stuff down, he took a cap off the cone in the center of the washer bowl (had no idea it came) apart and said it was dirty inside, was charging to redo all the windows because there was a smudge (he said) on the windows, he was rude, I ended up in tears, I had taken a day unpaid leave to clean, you will never see your deposit back.
Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 9, 2018Previous reviewI have lived here for two months and am quite happy, it is well maintained, friendly staff, clean grounds. I see people mentioning the loss of deposits, but I have read a lot of apartment reviews and have rented before, you should go in realizing that your deposit probably won't come back to you. They took lots of pictures of existing nicks etc so I wouldn't be charged, and they went out of their way to make an apartment available when I needed. They will put deliver packages that come for you in your apartment (if you'd like).

Belcourt was great when we lived there. Then we bought a house and moved out. When we were handed our itemized statement regarding our deposit, we were charged for paint all throughout the apartment: every wall (only on wall needed paint), baseboards, even the laundry room! We were charged for cleaning things we had already cleaned and we were charged for things that they did not write down "needed complete cleaning". We were charged for a closet guide when it wasn't broken. One of the shower handles were broken in our extra bath but they charged us for three. They charge you to replace the toilet seat and have the carpets cleaned. It's in the contract but it's actually against the law. California tenant/landlord laws say that the landlord can only charge the tenant for "normal wear and tear" small holes in the wall to hang pictures and cleaning the carpet for the next tenant is the landlords responsibility. Painting is the landlords responsibility if they choose. Damage is if someone punches a hole in the wall. Research CA laws anywhere you choose to live. The girls in the front are somewhat nice at first, but they don't know what they're doing and corporate is a joke. I had a conversation with the man on the phone and he wouldn't let me record our conversation because "no one has ever asked him" if they could record. He was so appalled at my request which is ridiculous because work of mouth does not mean anything. We live in an age where proof matters. Belcourt will take your deposit and claim you owe more. It's ridiculous.
Also, we had a problem with food going bad quickly. We would buy bread and in a matter of days, it would become moldy. I think (not sure) it's because it's a small area, a lot of people/activities, and everything you do can produce moisture (washing the dishes, running the dishwasher/washing machine, even breathing). There is poor ventilation in the kitchen and I think this attributes to mold growing quickly especially on food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 19, 2020Previous reviewBelcourt was great when we lived there. Feb 15, 2019Previous reviewBelcourt is a fantastic place to live! My husband and I moved here as newlyweds and we've been here for about a year and a half. Management is really kind and honest. Maintenance works really hard to keep the place clean. We've barely had any problems with neighbors -it's pretty quiet. I have never been disappointed. We don't plan to renew our lease when the contract is up only because we will have a baby and need some more room. If they rented houses too, we'd rent from them!
HIGHLY recommended! - Maddison R.Rohnert Park, CA394Sep 21, 2020
The first year was great. Once the new (and current) management came in it was such a joke. Our neighbors had new people living in the apartment constantly, and every time we called about it they didn't do anything. They actually asked us if we knew how many people were in there because they were clueless. We spent so much time cleaning before our final inspection, scrubbed walls, baseboards, everything. Yet we were charged for them cleaning the exact same things. The security is such a joke too. A man wrecked into the fountain out front and a bunch of us walked out and he had no idea anything even happened because he always has his headphones in playing games on his phone. We ended up moving because we no longer felt safe. We now have a bigger place, for less money because they also raised the rent when we were given our notice our lease was ending. Do not recommend.

What started out as a great experience has dwindled to almost nothing. I have lived here in my own place for over 2 years, before that I lived in the back with my best friend. I wanted my own place and moved more towards the front. My first night here in my own place, a crazy man was on the property asking me for a ride. I told him "no" and another man told him to leave me alone and to leave the property (He was a resident) The guy became irate and ran back towards me, and I screamed and ran in my apartment (security was not there) The man stole one of my bags out of my car. Afterward, I was devastated but blamed myself as my doors were open on my car(I didn't have time to close them as I was running in my apartment to get away from the crazy man)
Afterwards, everything was very quiet and nice until . . . one night my beautiful brand new car was broken into. Nothing stolen as nothing was inside. Security stared at me and shrugged and walked away, they were fired. Flash forward to several months later . . new security company . . again, my same beautiful new car was broken into, and several things taken. Things hidden inside the car that I use while driving. Again, security out front smoking and texting.
At this point, I am done. The place is beautiful, bug free and EXPENSIVE. I love the maintenance guys and I adore the girls in the office. But, I am so sad at the crime. Bye bye Belecourt.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Sep 30, 2014Previous reviewI moved here with my best friend almost 2 months ago. So far, I LOVE IT. It is clean, fresh and still rather new. Security walks the premises at night and absolutely NO CRIME . . . Ever!!!! Gated and secure property with a remote to open gates. I love how clean it is and how it takes such little maintenance to keep up. This is a no smoking complex for the most part as smoking is only allowed in a certain area. No bbq's on patios are allowed either. I love it and would stay forever except I miss having my own place. Hopefully I will move up in the world and can get my own place here. If you are looking for clean and well maintained apartment, this is the right place. Rather pricey but worth the money. Also, no bugs. Not even one.

I absolutely loved living here!!! I was on assignment here in Bakersfield for one year and had chosen Belcourt apartments after searching and touring several properties in the area and I am so glad I did! Everything from the management team, and maintenance staff were excellent. Every request I had was taken care of immediately. The property was constantly being maintained which in my opinion is very important. If Bakersfield was my forever home, I hands down would choose Belcourt apartments-Extremely comfortable, and safe place to live.

I moved here mid-August 2014. So far, it's been a pleasant experience. Gated community that is safe and well-kept. The ladies in the office are really nice and friendly. Maintenance always waves to you when you are driving by. Overnight security on premises willing to help if asked.
There are specific buildings designated for pets and smoking. Dumpsters close to each building - not so close that you can smell it, but the pick up truck will wake you in the morning! Community pool and clubhouse are clean and maintained. There is a gym, but only suitable for kids. You won't get a real workout here!
Belcourt Apartments offers one and two bedroom apartments. You get one designated, covered parking spot per bedroom, which is a thumbs down from me. My husband and I each have a car, but would have to pay extra ($25) per month to get an extra uncovered parking spot since we rent a one bedroom apartment. There is limited free parking outside the gate, but they also only give one gate key per parking spot...so you can't get through the gates after hours.
Rent is due by the first of each month but checks don't get deposited until the 7th-15th of the month. Pricey, but a nice place to live considering so close to Oildale.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ashley K.Bakersfield, CA1322Oct 17, 2018
First month our truck was broken into "during security hours" with an oh we're sorry to hear that happened unable to do anything about it. Then in our non smoking area we had smokers under our bedroom window every night for 5 months, and we always had bums in our trash. On the day of our moveout we paid for someone to professional clean our apartment and as we walked through with the maintace guy himself said all he has to do is touch up paint. I just received our invoice on everything maintenance did with our deposit and it literally listed everything possible that was already taken care of!!! We would never recommend these appartments to anyone and if you think you might get a deposit back don't bother they charge for things that were already taken care of!
Horrible managed company and very unprofessionalHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Madison K.Bakersfield, CA17Feb 24, 2020
I understand that this is your guys' job and everything, but some of the standards are ridiculous. The women in the office were extremely nice and prompt, but their corporate office is ridiculous. My sister applied for an apartment and was turned down when her co-signer got a background check and was found to have something minuscule from 16 years ago! This man owns his own house, as well as fire arms that he also had a background check done for, worked for the same company for 15 years, not an easy job to gain and keep for that long. Again, the office was extremely genuine, but the corporate office was unacceptable.
