Noreen, the attorney, and her team have proven to be a reliable throughout my journey getting my fiancé's American Visa overseas. Noreen's experience has been incredibly valuable. Always friendly and supportive. She and her team always answered all the questions we had very patiently and in a very professional manner. Now we are already in the process of getting the Green Card and Noreen and her team again are helping us with every detail of the process as always very transparent, informative and professional.

This review is long overdue, I can't stress enough how amazing Noreen has been. She truly cares for her clients and goes above and beyond to help you. She's been there for me through the most difficult times of my life and I will forever be grateful to her. Thank you so much Noreen for all that you have done for me. Your kind demeanor and generosity doesn't go unnoticed. The impact that you make in people's lives is truly incredible. I feel honored to have met such an amazing human being.
If you are searching for an attorney, search no more, this is who you want representing you for your legal matters! I know how difficult it is to be lost wondering who to turn to for help, and I know I made the right decision by choosing her as my attorney. She has helped me with several cases now. Her office and assistant Alma and the rest of the girls are also very kind and warm. They make you feel like home. Thank you Alma for your kindness and help. Give them a call and schedule your consultation, you won't be disappointed. They are located in Pasadena, they have parking available inside or on the street, it's very accessible and appointments are easy to make. If you have any questions feel free to reach out, I'd be more than happy to answer and get more people to choose her as their attorney to make a difference in people's lives. Thank you soo much Noreen, you are a true inspiration and I truly admire you for all that you are.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE ATTORNEY's LENGTHY COMMENT BASICALLY BLAMING ME FOR HER ERROR: imagine being paid so that the responsibility falls on you as the paying customer. If I wanted to be responsible for my mothers application, I wouldn't have hired an attorney.
We went back and forth like 3 different times where we physically had to take time from work to drive to Barcena's office because missing signatures. One time I caught there was a missing signature and I asked you about it and you said no, it was fine. No signature needed there, and that's the signature why USCIS returned the package. Proactive would have been to make sure all signatures were there in the first place.
Also about the comment for my usual immigration attorney not wanting to take on the case, there's no such thing. I (and again, this was my mistake) decided to hire you because I wanted my mom's application to be submitted right away. Why did it take 2 months? On the initial consultation I stressed how important it was for me for her application to be submitted right away. You agreed to that and it wasn't what happened.
I understand that USCIS takes time to review and approve applications, hence why I wanted to turn in the application sooner rather than later.
Also, you made a comment about us not picking up my mom's work authorization card for 4 months, proactive would have been you offering to mail the card since your client was busy to pick it up.
-----------------
I ended up hiring Barcena Law firm due to my usual immigration attorney being on vacation and I wanted my mother's application to get underway sooner rather than later (My mistake. My mother's application ended up being turned in months after the initial consultation even after specifically requesting we send her application over AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, and having gathered all required documents right away).
Unfortunately, I didn't have the same experience as all the rest of the people who have left reviews here.
One of the main issues with me was communication, another was this office not being proactive with the application process. I really don't want to go into details as to everything that went wrong because it's really exhausting just thinking about it.
Immigration applications are already a very intimidating and frustrating process, and it's important to feel like the attorney you've hired is going through the process with you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

We are very sorry you feel this way. The initial packet was sent promptly - within a week of your final review and signing. Due to an oversight (missing signatures), the packet was returned to us and submitted 2 months after the final draft had been approved. It took 2 months because USCIS returned the packet a month later, and it took another month to bring us the money orders. As soon as we received them, we promptly sent the packet.
I apologized multiple times that the initial packet was not accepted due to your mother missing a signature. We had you both review the final draft for 30 minutes before we sent out the initial packet, and three drafts prior to it being sent out. I apologize that in trying to go above and beyond for you, I did not see your mother had failed to sign the application where I left a sticker. I should not have assumed that after you reviewed the packet for 30 minutes, and me leaving tabs for and pointing to where a signature should go that you had followed our directions.
You did not ask about signatures, and the three times were because your mother couldn't make it to the office initially, you were still collecting documents we initially requested and we agreed to piecemeal the process to accommodate your mother. I am always happy to make accommodations to do what is best for the client.
Again, I understand your frustration and am not blaming you. I have repeatedly apologized for missing that the signature was not there.
Normally, I review the packet one final time, but as you had wanted it mailed out, we promptly did that and because you were so meticulous, I assumed you ensured all the tabs had been signed. You are correct that I should have checked again. I have said this multiple times.
When we received the returned packet - we promptly sent it back and have kept you informed every step of the way.
For the initial confusion, I completely understand your frustration. After that, everything went smoothly and the time waiting was due to USCIS processing times.
As to your comment that we are not proactive with the application process - I gave you 4 drafts to review before we sent it out - you approved the final draft. The application process should have gone smoothly but for a missing signature. While I understand my mistake was not catching the missing signature - I left tabs and we pointed out where to sign. My mistake was assuming she had signed.
As to the comment about communication, we have communicated with you every step of the way. We uploaded the receipts when they came in. We communicated to your family when we received things. We informed your family when things were ready for pick up.
After we informed your family that the card was ready for pick up, it sat in our office for nearly four months. Had we not reached out and communicated, it may have been more. You were also welcome to request that it be mailed to you, but we do not like to mail such important documents in the case they get lost in the mail. We did not know your mother was "busy" until we had already agreed upon a pick up date 4 months later.
We have tried to keep you informed of every step of the way, even informing you of changes in interpretation of the law along the way.
We will continue to our best to keep you informed and if I did not respond to your last message it was because I had spoken to your mother about the questions. I didn’t realize you also wanted a response. I apologize for that, and we are sorry you felt frustrated with our office.
Immigration applications are very intimidating and frustrating, and we went through the process with you the best we could. Through, I now understand why the prior attorney had stated she was not able to assist in the case.
We are continuing to monitor the case and update your mother with USCIS processing times as she is still our client and the case is still being processed. Thank you for your review and we will make sure that in the future we do not make exceptions to the rules we set in place to avoid situations like this. I appreciate the feedback and see you changed your review to a 1 star after my response in trying to apologize for the way you feel, and indicating we will do better. All we can do is learn from this and do better. - Jackson P.Valencia, CA2205May 24, 2022
I needed a lawyer to help me draft a letter pertaining to my divorce. Ms. Barcena was so gracious and helpful. She has a great bedside manner and went above and beyond what I asked for. She also knows her stuff. I wouldn't have any hesitation going to Barcena Law for any legal matter she handles.
Oh, and her staff is incredibly kind and welcoming! All around 5-stars.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robert G.Walnut Valley, West Covina, CA05Oct 5, 2023

Noreen is an extremely helpful lawyer. I needed advice and she even referred me to her friend as it wasn't her area of expertise.
I needed her consultation for a different case and she was able to help even though it was a Saturday. I met her at her office and she patiently listened to me. She gave me legal advice after listening to my case. She is always prompt to respond.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I needed some advice with a family law case I am currently involved in. She was very straightforward and told me the truth about my situation and not just what I wanted to hear in order to save me money which I really appreciate. She did not want to take any of my money even though she spent almost an hour with me on the phone and also told me to feel free to call back anytime if I had any more questions. I would highly recommend her and I would personally hire her myself when the time comes that I need a lawyer!

Mucho agracedimiento muchas gracias.
Nothing but gratitude towards Lawyer Barcena.
She was nothing but professional with my difficult Immigration case. She was highly recommended by a family member. I visited her office and was the best decision I had ever made. She was willing to take my case regardless of the complexity.
Now, I have received my work permit. Ms Barcena, I would like to thank you so much for the hard work you put into my Immigration case. Thanks to you, my Immigration status is a reality.
Forever grateful.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alicia B.Upland, CA1071Jun 28, 2021
Attorney Barcena is the best! I had a $1,000 ticket from university parking and they fined me twice for the same offense in a single incident. It was absolutely obnoxious that they charged me that much for a parking ticket. I was not going to accept that, so I called Noreen. She was super attentive to my issue, and drove over an hour and a half to attend a hearing with me in order to dispute the ticket. In 30 minutes, she was able to get the ticket reduced to half! $500 vs. $1,000 really saved me from a financial crisis. I would highly recommend Attorney Barcena, even for something as small as an expensive ticket!
