Hand down the best grilled cheese Benedict I have ever had! Wait a min, that is totally like an original dish coming from our local gem! The review is late but the taste is still lingering on my tongue.
Kid pancakes are the biggest you can share with 2 small appetite having littles.
Beer and alcohol are served here in mason jars! Mimosa are here too! If you have family visiting and want to wow with a hearty breakfast that didn't come from your own kitchen, take them here!
Lovely treats like chocolate chip cookies with bacon are also available to take the deliciousness home. The breakfast burrito is my husband's favorite to order as well as eat some of my breakfast too. They have 2 locations now so stalk out your next brunch Bruhah and eat local and chain free. Be sure to pay your check on a special page in the book they leave on your table!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 31, 2022
My first time at bacon & butter. I've always heard great things! Finally got to check it out with my girl! We got a ton of food and split it. We had so much leftovers. We shared with coffee while we waited. Took about 45 minutes to get a table! Then we got Tito's bloody Mary's. Delish! The food was outstanding! I loved all the flavors in the kitchen sink and the cali burrito! Our server Katie was super nice! I feel so bad because you can tell they just need more staff.

Round of applause from my very happy belly for the most delightful and stomp-your-feet-good breakfast.
Sunny skies and oddly warm temperatures made the patio so inviting, and with it being super busy and no room inside we were so glad to have found a table in front. We were immediately welcomed by a bubbly server who brought us menus and took our orders.
Had my sights set on the Pear & Pecan French Toast before we arrived and it was better than I imagined. The challah bread was wonderful and crisp. The warm slices of roasted pear were delicious, together with the caramel sauce and whipped cream, each bite was bliss!
Phenomenal is how my friend described the Biscuit Sandwich with gravy that I didn't have room to taste. We shared a Manmosa which was good, but a bit strong for my taste, should have went with the Mimosa. Portions are large and service was a joy. Highly recommend.Helpful 41Thanks 0Love this 37Oh no 0 - Kirk G.Braux, France03Sep 11, 2022
Ordered their breakfast burrito, first time there wanted a great breakfast!
By far the worst breakfast burrito I've ever had! Dry, rolled in a doughy wrap that was horrible with what seemed like a canned innards. Still trying to figure out why I ate half of it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 29, 2019
Upon my first visit to Sacramento, I looked at some of the most popular brunch spots in the area. Bacon & Butter's first location popped up, but I noticed that their second location was closer to where I was staying. Therefore, I decided to give it a shot since their first location was doing well in Yelp standard.
Arriving there roughly around 9:30 AM on a Sunday, it was already pretty packed. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side. Because it was raining pretty hard outside, everybody was huddled inside and they were not utilizing their outside patio seating (hence even slower). After putting our name down we were told it would be about a 40 minute wait. After nearly waiting an hour, we were beginning to notice that parties who came after us were being called to be seated. We thought this was strange and asked the hostess about it. They looked at their waitlist and then with a shocked look on their face, apologized that they had accidentally skipped our name. It was pretty frustrating given that we had waited so long and they didn't realize that our name had not been crossed off. Alas, we were seated.
Although feeling a bit bitter, I was excited to see what they had to offer. I already had my eyes on their grilled cheese eggs benedict because that is one of their popular items and an unique one at that. I also was interested in trying their pear and pecan french toast.
Both these dishes are particularly on the heavier side, so a little goes a long way. We didn't finish all our food but certainly felt like we could not take another bite. The grilled cheese eggs benedict is exactly how it sounds. It is a grilled cheese sandwich made from a concoction of different cheese with two poached eggs drowning in hollandaise sauce. If you're a cheese lover, this will be up your alley. The cheese skirt was heavy, salty, but cheesy goodness in everywhere. The first bite was indulgent, and the later bites being even more so. This is certainly a must-try-at-least-once kind of item. It came with potatoes on the side which were pretty standard. Not crispy on the outside, but cooked well. Interestingly, I ended up appreciating the potatoes on the side because it was the only thing on the plate that wasn't so heavy.
The pear and pecan french toast is also a heavy, indulgent, sweet dish. I hadn't had something sweet in a while so I was craving it; making it taste all the better. The whipped cream is homemade, but not something I wanted a huge dollop of. The bread is thick and eggy, and the pears are really delightful. It pairs with the caramel and pecan well, and adds just a bit of tartness to all the sweetness going on. A sweet contrast to the savory, saltiness of the eggs benedict, but also something that became harder and harder to ingest with each bite.
Albeit a heavy meal, I enjoyed the unique pairings and well cooked items. Service was bustling, but eventually everything was taken care of. I would recommend the place and coming early to beat the brunch crowd. Brunch items ranged around the $15-18 price point.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Oct 21, 2019
Bacon & butter is one of Sacramento's most popular brunch spots and for a good reason. Delicious offerings and fresh ingredients. We waited around 45 minutes on a Sunday, so be sure to get there early.
I ordered the grilled cheese egg Benedict. It sounded amazing and just had to try it. Taste wise it is as great as it sounds. If you're a fan of cheese you'll love this dish since the grilled cheese has a cheese skirt. The hollandaise sauce is very rich and creamy. The potatoes are also very good.
Left feeling STUFFED! The portion is pretty huge and the food is quite heavy. Definitely worth it but plan on taking a nap afterwards. Service here is great.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jul 22, 2019
Sacramento sure is fast becoming a great breakfast destination.
GRILLED CHEESE BENEDICT omg, an eggs Benedict that uses a buttery grilled cheese sandwich instead of an English muffin.
WAFFLE AND BERRIES was crunchy and airy and the berries were sweet but not too sweet.
CHICKEN AND WAFFLES is oh so good. The chicken was still juicy and tasted fantabulous! The waffle, as previously mentioned, is well-made here.
HOT CHOCOLATE is hot and rich.
It's not cheap. Portions are large. Street parking is available.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 50017371350Jul 3, 2019
What is there to be said about Bacon & Butter that hasn't already been said? This was my first time at this newer location and everything was as spectacular as the other location. Yes, it gets crowded and you have to wait, but when the food is as amazing as Bacon & Butter's is, it is worth the wait.
We showed up 15 minutes before they opened on a Saturday morning and there were already about 15 people waiting. But when the doors opened, we were seated inside and ordered our breakfast. I opted to try something new, the peaches French toast and my boyfriend ordered my favorite, the grilled cheese Benedict.
The French toast was out of this world. It was not overly sweet, like I thought it would be, and the peaches were fresh. I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs and bacon because I am the kind of person that cannot have all sweet for breakfast. I need some savory too.
The staff were friendly and they get the food out as quick as they can - but remember, the best things in life are worth the wait.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Apr 6, 2019
Bacon and Butter is a Sacramento staple! So glad that they finally opened up another location, which helps alleviate the long wait times at the original restaurant. I remember waiting 1-2 hours to eat there but it was always worth it. If the wait was shorter, I'd probably eat there everyday! This one seems about the same size but more available tables, as well as outdoor seating. Parking can be tough but we got pretty lucky somehow with an open spot right in front.
We came around 11:00 on a Saturday morning and I was preparing for the longest wait ever. She estimated 20-30 minutes and we got called in within 20! We ordered a breakfast burrito, avocado toast, and red velvet donut. The donut was super flavorful and the best part was the cream cheese frosting on top. My avocado toast was super yummy, but I don't think it's a $15 dish. The breakfast burrito was pretty plain but I liked the avocado cream sauce.
I was wondering why the new location had such a low rating but maybe the B&B hype has died down. I'll still be recommending it to others because of their yummy dishes but next time I'll have to stick with the classics like the grilled cheese benedict!Helpful 26Thanks 0Love this 26Oh no 0
