Austin Rocks

Long over due review, haha. Saw this shop when my friend and I were wandering around Downtown Austin, however, it wasn't open so we swung by the next day.

This store contains a bunch of cool stuff, from apparel to pillows. I bought a bunch of postcards and a guitar pick.

The staff were so nice, Anthony and Karina. They were really helpful with giving me more insight about Austin's art scene, since I wanted to view their awesome murals all over Downtown. Anthony and Karina gave me a lot of information about this cute little city itself. They also gave me this cute reusable tote from their sister store Toy Joy, which is on the next block. (Which you definitely have to visit as well.)

Next time you're in Austin, make sure you peep this boutique shop, you won't regret it.

What a cute store on 2nd street. If you're not familiar with 2nd street it's a two-way street with limited street pay meter. I believe it's free parking on Sundays only. I think it's $2.25 an hour. There is a parking garage near by, but I don't know the rate.
The store is cute inside, a lot of items neatly displayed. Anything from sage bundles to earrings. Lots of great Austin gift ideas. Some kids clothing, adult clothing and even something for pets! Austin Rocks has you covered.

Got gifted a t-shirt that was the wrong size by my niece. They refused to exchange it because the receipt is over 10 days old. You can get over priced souvenirs from lots a better places in Austin. Best to avoid.

Austin does rock and when you need trinkets from your weekend as proof of life you came well this is the place to come. I blew a few bucks here just to Keep Austin & Frank weird. You'll be able to choose from many local Austin items plus some you can get anywhere but of you weren't here you probably wouldn't purchase.

Well, that's my tourist shop story, so either take my word or stop in.

I have lived in Austin for all my adult like and I can't express how happy this places makes me.
All the great unique items and super Austin feeling staff.
I'm so happy they have be able to stay open to give a glimpse of what Austin feels like when things are running normally.
There Insta account is fire also. Gives me all the feels.

This is a great store in downtown Austin, selling fun gift items, apparel and non-cheesy Austin souvenirs. It's worth a gander if you're in the area and/or if you're shopping for souvenirs, but don't want to get another, cheaply-made shot glass for loved ones.

I visited Austin Rocks, as I was in the area and had some time to kill. I was unsure of what exactly what was in the store, but just knew that they had Austin gifts, as indicated from the name. If there's anything I hate more than another souvenir shop with cheesy graphic tees, shot glasses and mugs then it's receiving a gift from another souvenir shop with cheesy graphic tees, shot glasses and mugs. So, I was pleasantly surprised with Austin Rocks. Items here were quirky, eclectic, fun and unique. These are the kind of souvenir gifts that loved ones wouldn't mind getting.

Staff were happy to help, yet didn't pester you around the store. Items were organized and fully-stocked. And there's something for everyone here. Austin Rocks is a great store in downtown Austin with gifts for all, including yourself.

This is the perfect place to buy Austin themed souvenirs. They also sell cute gifts. They carry bags, vintage rock and roll shirts, cards, magnets, candles, mugs, just to name a few. We came here to browse before the Rebelution concert which was happening across the street at the Moody Center. I highly recommend stopping in.

I was torn between three or four stars. Love looking around and getting a few pieces here and there but definitely not a place to shop for clothes (at least not for me). I really enjoy their jewelry and novelties but their clothes are too overpriced in my opinion. I would recommend taking a peek though. Really cute store to look around in.

Great boutique with awesome products. Best in Austin for tourist to get unique Austin merch. They have a ton of amazing band Tee shirts, tanks & novelty tees. Cool books, candles, badass clothing, great jewelry with handmade pieces, sunnies, fanny packs, bags, weird gifts, great music, awesome decor & they are always getting new & unique things in!!! Love! (Prices are on point here.)

You'll find this place easily enough as you wander downtown: just watch for the flaming guitar pick proclaiming "Austin Rocks!" on the side of the building.

Inside you'll find clothes for men and women (including "western wear" -- gotta get them pearl snaps for proper street credit), jewelry, and a lot of musical accoutrements, so ogle away you amateur musicians! I don't know if this is the best place to buy an instrument (they erred on the side of flashy vs. functional), but I am not musically inclined so I couldn't verify that for you.

Everything leans toward $$$, which isn't a surprise since they cater at least somewhat to tourists with lots of souvenir stuff.

Anyway, if you want to fit in with the hipsters, check this place out. You rock!
