Great experience with this company. My agent was Max Atherton. He was extremely straight forward and accommodating, showing me properties within my price range and preferred area of town. Getting back into a place of my own was very important to me and Max made it happen. Highly recommend this guy and ACR. Thanks for all your help!

We worked with Elliot Stewart here to secure a property. Everything went great until it came time to sign the lease, when he informed us that we would now be working with University Realty - a completely separate realty company. There had been no mention of this, no warning or anything.
Now, there was a reason we were working with Austin City Realty - so that we WOULDN'T have to work with any other companies, which were all terribly rated. So it was an unpleasant surprise when we were suddenly shoved over to University Realty and made to wait for two weeks for any progress on the lease. In the end, we didn't sign the lease because the lease had ridiculous fees which no one had told us about, and we lost our deposit.
What I'm saying is that working with Elliot was great, but he did not tell us that the property we were interested in was under another company or anything at all that gave us the slightest idea that we would be shuffled on over to University Realty UNTIL it was time to sign the lease. If we were able to stay with Austin City Realty, we probably would have had a much better experience than we did, but it just seems as though they didn't really care very much.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - K K.Austin, TX08Jul 23, 2016
I thought going to this company was going to be a positive experience but the rep Max I've dealt with recently was absolutely horrendous.
We were set to show 3 places and the dude rolls up in a smart car late.. strike one. After we see the first place, he tells me he has other clients to take care of. I know I'm not the most important person in the world, but basically cold shouldering your customer is not a smart move. Strike two. Not the end of the world, but we set to meet sometime after 2. I get an email around 2:15 telling me he's too 'fried' and asks if we can reschedule for next week, not even a dignified phone call or apology - Strike three. If he can't make time for me now he isn't going to make time for me next week - that's a great expectation to set with your customer.
This company is awful. Hopefully you get a better rep than I did but I would definitely recommend going with another company.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ben G.Austin, TX03Dec 11, 2012
My Wife and I moved out to Austin from Los Angeles with no place to live and bouncing from hotel to hotel with a 17' foot moving truck and trailer.
Because of Realtor Chris Vickers, we were able to find the home of our dreams within our budget and close to work! The best part about it, Chris found us this place in 2 hours! and drove us around to two other options within that time frame.
CHRIS VICKERS is a life saver and anyone looking for a place in Austin should see him. I have already told co workers looking for a place to contact him.
Not sure about all the other reviews scenarios, but Chris did not present anything false. Go See CHRIS VICKERS.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Monica J.Austin, TX591Sep 27, 2014
Anyone looking for a new home, ask for Doug. My roommate and I were really impressed at how quick and efficiently he worked in this tricky business. He was able to recommend the best properties within our preferred location and price range. He works transparently so you know exactly the type of business you're working with, he pretty much treated us like we were family as if he truly wanted us (the tenants and our dogs) to be happy, and we are! Found a NICE apartment within our price range (the rates were significantly lower than advertised on the apartment's website).
If we voiced any concerns he addressed them immediately and adjusted his search. I will recommend Doug Goff to all my friends and family. Thank you!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Diana C.Austin, TX013Sep 24, 2014
From what other realtors have told me, most of these realty companies have access to each other's properties. With that being said, you should not limit yourself to a realty company just because they have a particular listing that you want.
I've lived around the university for 5 years now, living in 5 different places each year, found by a different realtor each time. Most of them have been, bad, really bad, and absolutely terrible, but Austin City Realty did a good job.
Our realtor was Jeremy, and we really liked him because he didn't make any assumptions as to what we would or wouldn't like, and he adjusted quickly to every new development in our needs. We started out looking for 3 bedrooms, and ended up with a 6-bedroom house. He showed us the most properties he could for each step up in bedrooms. The ideal house that we wanted was literally the house that he found for us, and for a 6-bedroom house near the university at a reasonable price, this is quite exceptional. On the outside, it looked like nothing we wanted, but he took us anyway, and I think that is what makes him a good person to work with.
Our house is managed by Fairway Properties, which I believe shares an office with Austin City Realty. Candace is great at her job, which doesn't sound like much, but being good at your job in property management is an EXTREMELY rare gem. She answered questions, replaced broken appliances, and kept in contact with us throughout the whole process with accurate time estimates. Again, I want to iterate HOW EXTREMELY RARE it is to find this in Austin, especially around campus.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tricia B.Missouri City, TX349May 19, 2016
Came to Austin looking for an apartment for my daughter transferring to UT. We were completely clueless about where to even start looking. Douglas was our agent and really don't know how we would have survived this process without him! He knew so much and made us feel completely at ease. Took us to many wonderful properties and provided us with a wealth of valuable info. He took into consideration her safety and comfort and really cared. Thank you so much Douglas!!! You were awesome and because of your hard work and patience with us we found the perfect place for our girl to live!!!! Would give 20 stars if I could!!!

I signed up for an account in May. I was then contacted and told I'd be assigned to Steven Biyeu. A week after receiving this assignment, Steven had still never called. Once he finally was pressured by the Office Manager (who accidentally called me to inform Steven that I was a new lead) I received an email letting me know I should wait another month to start searching for an apartment because rates would be better. I then had to contact Steven after that mid June date asking if he was still willing to help me. He then asked my availability, I responded, and he never contacted me again. Luckily I found an apartment without his help. So in short, don't use Steven Bilyeu.

Thank you for your feedback and our apologies for the lack of communication on behalf of one of the agents in our office. I am glad to hear you found a place to live. We have many great agents with great reviews (18 Great Reviews) on YELP that can be read in the "Filtered Section" of YELP. Unfortunately YELP has not displayed these reviews so our Rating does not look as good as it truly is.

I worked with Ken Swanson on finding an apartment in Austin, which was a treat. Before I found him, I was about 10 seconds from packing up and moving back home, but Ken was able to understand what I needed, what I could afford and helped me get into a great apartment on the first day we met! He was superb!

Zach Sunderland helped me find the PERFECT apartment! I am moving in from out of town and began to feel hopeless when I was shown places by four other agents and locators, all from different agencies, and nothing they showed me felt right. Zach was very up front and honest about what I would be getting within my budget and with the criteria I had, which is more than I can say for the rest of the agents I dealt with. I told him a general idea of what I was looking for and the place he brought me to was EXACTLY what I had pictured when I envisioned myself living in Austin. He was also extremely accommodating and provided excellent customer service! Once I decided that I wanted to rent the place, he drove me all around town to get the necessary things to secure the place that day. Of course he is working on commission, but he went above and beyond to ensure that everything was as easy as possible for me, which he didn't have to do. Also, he agreed to meet with me at the very end of the work day because I was leaving town that day and live in Houston. On top of all of this, even though there is no benefit to him, he has agreed to meet up with me this weekend on his own time to give me the keys to my new apartment because the leasing office will be closed when I come into town to move in. If you are looking to find an apartment in Austin, Zach should be your go to guy!!
