Applebee's Grill + Bar

Well, fool me once - your fault; fool me twice - my fault - go back a third time and that makes me an idiot!

We went here because it is so close to our home, mistake - again.

Every visit there is an issue with the food or service or both. I have seen management try and deescalate customers who are upset - why did I return?

The waitress - she kept looking at us like we had 3 noses and 8 eyes, I think this was her first customer service job. She was OK, but I wanted to go to the other section where the waiter clearly either liked his job or did a fine acting job.

The food we ordered:

Brew Pub Pretzels + Beer Cheese Dip: The cheese was already salty - why add so much more to the top of the cheese? Not really keen on the idea of suffering from a stroke. We asked her to take it back, and of course the looks we got.... When she brought it back, it was clear they just "tried" to scrape the excess salt mix off the top - well they took half the cheese with it.


Salsa Verde Beef Nachos: I asked for extra queso, which I did not get. Another waiter delivered our food and asked if I needed anything else so I mentioned I did not get the extra queso and he offered to bring me a side of it - awesome - until we were getting our check and he still never showed up with the side of queso. The nachos were ok.

Clubhouse Grille: Fortunately my husband had no real complaints with this dish - he did enjoy it.

Drinks:

Dollar margaritas! So first, when ordering a margarita, usually you are asked with or without salt. No such thing happened so we asked for salt to be sure to get it. When we got our second round - no salt! The spigots or machine the margarita mix is in clearly has not been cleaned in a very long time, tasted stale.


So yes, we learned our lesson - never going back!

It was great. We got Excellent service from a great server. The food was piping hot and the drinks were great.

I thought tonight was going to be a good night but I was wrong. No line, no wait and not loud inside.

The $1 margaritas...don't do it. I ordered the chicken macaroni dinner but I think I ordered a frozen dinner because my food came out ice cold. My waiter was will to fix it but I don't understand why would you want something like this to be presented to your customers. When asked by manager how my meal was, told him that I was disappointed by the cold meal. He said " I'm sorry to hear that" and walked off. No sympathy in that respond.

Thought I would give Applebee's another chance. Guess I was right...(shaking my head). No more....

So I'm waiting for my to-go order I see a young lady in the kitchen putting her hands into a bowl of fries (fresh off the grill) and eating them one at a time. She ever went as far as getting a ketchup packet and eating more! Luckily I didn't get fries! I can only imagine what else they're just eating off of.


My to-gone order was not hot, and waited an additional 10 min for it

Okay- I came 3 days in a row no one noticed me. I stood and waited to be seated. I'm left with a question. Do I exist? I'm not sure.
A great place to go if you want to be treated like you are invisible.

I want to start this of by saying if you're going to waste your time, Miami is an AMAZING server.
We showed up during late night, and yes, they were busy, but Miami ingredient took our drink order and put in our appetizers.
He was obviously left out to dry by this place and not only did he have to serve our drinks, but in order to get them out on time, he MADE the drinks, served them, then went into the kitchen then MADE OUR food because no one else would. He also cooked the steak PERFECTLY while also serving a lounge full of tables. Because he had no choice.
We took the manager outside and explained our problem. Know what he did? Took 15% off.
Viva la Miami. We won't be back but this server deserves better treatment.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We came here for my sister's graduation weekend just for a casual dinner one of the nights in Austin. First off, the bathrooms...absolutely disgusting and not maintained whatsoever. The toilet paper and paper towel holder were not screwed into the wall so it was slanted. There was trash all over the floor. There must be some sort of health regulation hazard because it was purely disgusting. Second, our waiter did not get any of orders correct. When we informed him of the incorrect orders he said "yeah I noticed that". So he knew the orders were incorrect and still gave it? Third, I feel like my party had to really work our waiter. I mean, he never refilled our waters, we asked for correct orders of our food, he was sitting on his phone when we needed assistance, talking to other coworkers and not attending to us, just so many issues. When he was taking our orders, he threw his hands up and asked us to hold on like he became overwhelmed. We were all ordering 1 by 1, not talking over each other. So I'm not sure where the disconnect came from.

The food itself could have been A LOT better. No one in our large party enjoyed their meal. Probably because everyone's orders were wrong. One person found an expiration sticker on their plate under their steak. Another person ordered a loaded baked potato and was only given a potato and then when asked, was then given sides to create their own loaded baked potato. Another person (who is diabetic) asked for unsweet tea and received sweet tea. I mean the list goes on and on.

It was all a bad experience - terrible service, lack of cleansiness, and distasteful food. I don't recommend this place whatsoever...not until some real chances are made.

There aren't words to describe the terrible experience I just had.

My friends got to the restaurant at 8pm and put their appetizer order and order for waters- which had old rotten lemons by the way. We got to the restaurant at 8:15. We didn't get greeted for 20 min and it wasn't until our friend asked for a server. In the 35 min they never saw their server again, we didn't get the appetizers they ordered, so at 8:45, we all just decided to leave because we hadn't received anything and no one ever came back.

I know Applebee's is pretty bad in general, but Jesus, we couldnt even spend the gift card we had.

Zero stars for literally zero service...

Applebees used to be our go to spot and the food and drinks aren't anything to die for but the price is what brings you back. We usually get the trio and split it with a couple of drinks. The attitude of the waiters could be better but the location is quite convenient.

This review is purely because my waiter, Lamar, was amazing.

The food at applebee's is not why people go to applebees. People go to applebee's because they are open til 2 am, and the drinks are cheap af. I went with a couple of coworkers last week to grab some drinks since our work days don't end until 11 pm at the earliest and we were at a loss to find a place open late on a monday night.

Lamar was so friendly and sweet! He made great drink recommendations and he did a wonderful job even though the restaurant was extremely short-staffed and he had a rough day. Please give this man a raise! He is hilarious and extremely good at serving. Thank you Lamar for entertaining us after a really long day! You're the best.
