This is one of the best or actually even the best Indian restaurant in the metro Detroit area. The food is just so delicious and flavorful. The staff is nice and patient. I have attended parties with this restaurant catered food and also gotten takeout and it has never been a let down. Hands down my fav Indian restaurant.

Dream come true! I have been dreaming about this dosa for the longest. I finally got to order theMasala Dosa as an appetizer. Huge crepe that is great for sharing. I ordered the lamb biryani and unfortunately I didn't get to take a pic. It was so delicious and sorry that I didn't get to take a pic of it. Great service. Our water was very attentive to our needs. The restaurant was nice and clean and had authentic Indian decor. I highly recommend this place for those who want Indian food!!!

I went here on a Friday evening with friends, after regularly ordering doordash from them. We were seated right away but it took a while for us to get water and someone to take our order.
The food came rather quickly and was super delicious. I like spicier dishes and my girlfriend likes more mild dishes and they easily accommodated both of our desired flavors.
It was a nice, relaxing meal but it did take a while to get the check as well. Overall I'd come again but maybe not on a busy Friday evening.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Siddharth G.Southgate, MI10750448May 22, 2023
*UNSANITARY ALERT -SPIDERS IN THE FOOD*
Atrocious, Horrendous, and grotesque is an understatement. There are literally 2 spiders around the food. We ordered Puri and baby corn Manchurian. The puri arrived 1st and upon completing it, we received the 2nd order. I spotted 2 spiders crawling on my plate and called the manager to report it. He was oblivious and sloppy. He provided lame excuses concerning the pest issue and has the audacity to charge for food dispite admitting the issue. I don't know how they passed the Health department inspection. I don't recommend this restaurant unless you want to be charged with unsanitary and unsafe food.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 3 - Katherine G.Ann Arbor, MI28252Feb 15, 2024
We have been getting takeout from Aahar for the past year. Aahar is by far our favorite place to get Butter Chicken in the area. We also love their chicken 65, chili chicken, and lamb makhani- all so delicious and just the right amount of spice. We have only eaten in the restaurant once, so I can't say much about their in-restaurant service, but I can say that their takeout food is consistently ready on time and so good each and every time.

My boyfriend and I got Doordash delivery from here today and everything was very tasty, albeit a bit spicy for me - unfortunately there was nowhere on Doordash to specify spice amount, so I think everything was like a medium spice.
We ordered:
-Gobi 65: crunchy and very good, but spicy.
-Chicken Tikka masala: this was more like a mild+ spice, and very tender-tasting and delicious.
-Butter chicken: also tender but too spicy for me.
-Butter garlic naan: tasty (and not spicy, haha).
-Veggie samosas: also very good but did have a little bit of spice.
You can choose a variety of sides, from rice to butter naan, so my boyfriend got rice for his and I got butter naan and we split them. The butter garlic naan was nice and plump, too, if that makes sense.
I'd definitely order from here again but might do pickup next time so I could specify a mild spice level.
One negative thing: either the restaurant or the Dasher forgot my mango lassi. Would have been nice to balance out the spice! Oh well.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - 233276681May 28, 2022
Out of all the Indian restaurants we've tried, this is our favorite! Yes even dishes like butter chicken had a little spice to it but if you like Indian food I think you should be able to handle it lol. Very busy, restaurant inside and with takeout orders, that's a good sign!
We ordered
Vegetable samosa - can't go wrong
Vegetable korma
Butter chicken (favorite) yes, it's a got a little kick to it but it's soo good and won't kill you.
Andrha goat special - meat was very tender. This was pretty spicy so beware of this one.

This was the first time we've had Aahar in a LONG time and I'm kicking myself for us not going here more for our Indian cuisine fix! I ordered through Uber Eats, and everything was so fresh and hot. Everything is pretty on the spicy side-a lot of why I love it so much to begin with-so this wasn't a surprise, nor a downside.
The naan is so fluffy and delicious! I can't wait for the day when they have their buffet open again, but for now, this totally hit the spot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 21, 2019Previous reviewWhile I would not consider myself an experienced diner of Indian cuisine, this place is always a treat! They have their expansive lunch buffet daily, which is my favorite way to go as you can get a little taste of everything since the flavors are so strong. Every dish is super flavorful, and they have a variety of different meats, and vegetarian options. Their naan is outstanding as well. This place gets PACKED right at lunch time any time I've been here, so we always try to go either right when they open, or after 1 o'clock. The spice of the food is out of this world and so worth it! I've tried other Indian restaurants and have been disappointed as Aahar has raised the bar in my expectations for flavor.

I went in last evening for dinner with a friend.
We were seating quickly, I do not normally eat Indian cuisine often, and they guided me through the menu.
Everything was perfectly cooked and very tasteful.
I highly recommend going there.
Beautiful atmosphere too.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
