A Shot In the Dark

Coming back from Hoh Rainforest, we were a bit tired and wanted to grab something to wake ourselves up. A Shot In The Dark was on the way to our lunch spot so we decided to stop by.

- PARKING -
Drive-thru only! There's a window on both sides of the small hut, so you simply follow the lines until you get to the order window.

- SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT -
The line can get long and extend out into the street, but when it gets busy, an employee comes out to each of the car windows to take orders as to move things along faster. They also bring some menus out to your car as it would delay ordering if you got to the window and still didn't know what you wanted, so that was nice of them to do!

- DRINKS -
Frozen Lemonade: Super refreshing and tart! Perfect for a post-hike treat.

A few of my friends got coffee drinks and they seemed to enjoy them.

- OVERALL -
Cute little pit stop if you're in need of a refreshing drink, or a pick-me-up!

After a long day of hiking, this was a refreshing drink to stop by and have.

The staff is friendly, and there's 2 drive thru windows to help with the line being too long.

I got a strawberry banana smoothie and it was nice and cold but unfortunately I couldn't taste any of the banana in the drink and it didn't taste like real fruit was used.

Overall this is good if you need a quick little pick me up.

Their breakfast bagels and croissant breakfast sandwiches are AMAZING! So tasty!!

For drinks, we had a Mexican Mocha, which is made with dark chocolate syrup. The drink is rich, but really good. Their white chocolate mocha was decent.

The service was kind and engaging.

We visited Forks WA on our road trip and this place came up when we search for ice cream. Shockingly, there is no ice cream shop open at late afternoon on a Saturday. We waited in line but there is also another window on the other side of the hut. It took awhile to get to the window and while we wait there are cars pull up from the other direction and got service before us. It's not a big deal just a little confusing.

We got peach smoothie and chocolate shake. Both are delicious. The peach smoothie has a strong and distinct peach flavor which i love. A lot of places you can barely taste the peach. I loved this drink. Husband loved his choco shake too. Great drinks.

One of the best breakfast croissant sandwiches I have ever had!!!

After a weekend of camping, we wanted some warm food and hot coffee so we stopped by this drive-thru. My boyfriend got the breakfast bagel and it was very large and filling. We also tried the Mocha latte and it was tasty - not too sweet like most are.

Later we drove by and there was a LONG line - so try to get there early!

This was one of the higher rated coffee spots in Forks so we stopped by for some pick-me-ups. It's drive-thru only with two lanes going in opposite directions. Since it was a little busy when we visited, one of the workers came out and handed our cars some menus, which helps streamline the whole process.

What's really cool about this place is the huge list of flavors and syrups. Our entire car each got their own coffee and everyone picked something different. They charge an extra quarter for iced drinks which I find odd because don't we already get less coffee with ice in the cup?

If coffee isn't your thing, they also serve smoothies and frozen drinks!

Definitely worth trying this drive through when you're on your way into the park or out of it! There's so many flavors to choose for your latte and coffee options, including options for plant-based smoothies, and also milkshakes and protein shakes. And the food menu has enough for everyone in the car, from savory bagels to sweet pancakes, waffles, or delicious coffee cake loafs from a local bakery. If needing a true pick-me-up the Shot in the Dark is a drip with extra shot of espresso, known elsewhere as a red eye. And the extreme caffeine option is actually their Red Bull spritzers. Friendly and fast service and parking available to pull over at the gas stations next door. Forks is a wonderful town with a great souvenir store across the street from this spot, expect gray weather but this drive-thru is definitely a signature vibe.

A shot in the dark is a little hit on the main road in forks. Open really early so you can get some caffeine and breakfast! I ordered an almond hazelnut latte and a croissant breakfast sandwich. My friend got the The worker was so nice and let us sub the ham for sausage instead. We also ordered the lemon frosting loaf cake which unfortunately was a packaged lemon loaf. I thought maybe it would've been homemade.

Nice cute little spot, love they had 2 drive thru lines to deal with the lines. They have great breakfast options and great coffee.
The presentation on the hot chocolate was amazing. The best looking hot chocolate so far.
The coffees are full to the rim, so be careful. The food taste great too.

Really nice quality breakfast sandwiches - we got the croissant and bagel sandwiches! The drinks were fine, not the best, I'd recommend a coffee based drink and not their smoothie or tea based ones. I originally had ordered a matcha but it was incredibly sweet despite not having added any sweetener (the sweetness completely overpowered the matcha) and my boyfriends peach smoothie was a glorified peach juice blended with some ice. The service was okay as well, when I had asked to replace my overly sweet matcha they said they'd have to charge for it despite having taken maybe two sips of it. I ended up purchasing an iced latte which was much better than the matcha. Overall a good spot for breakfast sandwiches and coffee
