Does 2nd phase serve food as well?

We do not have a kitchen on site but do have food vendors available during the weekend. We also work with the local restaurants such as our neighbors, Killer Poke, to provide some food delivery options. You are also welcomed to bring in your own… more

2nd Phase Brewing is one of my favorite spots in Bakersfield. As a transplant, it's some times hard to fit in when it seems like everyone knows everyone and they're so close-knit but 2nd Phase has a very welcoming vibe and I've always felt at home.

They don't have their own kitchen but allow outside food and even bring in guest food trucks to keep you warm and fed while you drink.

I've seen several live local music acts here and attended a couple birthdays and even trivia night. This brewery is really a community space.

The beer and beverage options are fantastic too. They have something for every taste. There's obviously beer, but also seltzer drinks, and slushy drinks even spicy drinks.

The staff is always friendly and attentive.

I really love this place in case you can't tell.

The only thing I'll say that is keeping me from giving them 5 stars is that the acoustics aren't the best. It can get too loud and be hard to have a conversation sometimes. It's also been hard to get the music sound just right when there's live performances. If they can figure out a way to improve the sound, this will be the perfect spot!

I stopped by here with the Missus last Saturday afternoon. We sat at the bar, and because it was busy, it took a few minutes for the bartender to serve us.

When she did, I ordered the Es-So Fancy, a golden Ale with mint, cucumber, salsa and a tahin rim. It was like a glass of menudo- very interesting!

Eventually our server went home for the day and we met Ashlie. She was very energetic and fun and served us a few of their more traditional beers which I found to be a bit more palatable.

The pub mix snacks were a nice addition and the vibe here was perfect for a lazy afternoon.

      We'll be back!

Checked this place out while I was in town for a night. I had the Rich Uncle Golden Ale and their Hazy Double IPA. Both were great beers. The Hazy double was obviously on the heavier side so it would be tough to drink more than one, but definitely worth getting. I could drink the Rich Uncle anytime. My only good complaint about their beer was that they were sold out of a couple different beers which I would have liked to try...guess I'll have to go back.

I was in on a Wednesday night and they had trivia starting at 7, as well as a pizza food truck named La Margherita (I believe) outside. The pizza was extremely good! Definitely added a lot of value to the brewery being able to grab a pizza and bring it in. Hope they are there next time I stop by.

I had not paid 2nd phase a visit in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have seltzers on their drink menu now. They make these really great concoctions with them that keep me wanting to come back every Friday! The cucumber and watermelon ones are my fav! They add vodka and agua frescas to the seltzer to make a delicious drink.

This place is a nice spot to just hang out at and relax. I love the feeling of just casually being able to hang out and have a good drink with no rush or care in the world. They also have food vendors that come out so it's nice, because I enjoy trying local food trucks.

What a cute space downtown! They had a great selection of beer and super friendly informative service. There focus here is beer which they do well! I enjoyed every beer in my flight and ended up having a spicy Michelada to enjoy with the local pizza we ordered.

The space is large open concept with a clean and welcoming feel. Loved the wood ceiling helped keep it from being sterile. Also loved they were family and pet friendly. Games to pick up and play!

Would defiantly be my favorite brewery in town if I lived here. (And I went to all of them)

If i could give this business 20 stars i definitely would! We came in Sunday afternoon. The place was pretty empty besides us and a small group. It was so cute in here! Way bigger than i had imagined it would be.
The main reason i would give this place a high rating is because the bartender, and only person working, was sooo amazing! I didn't get her name but she was super sweet and helpful. She told us about all the drinks and which she recommended. Every drink we tried was so good! I'm definitely coming back for more! They have a lot of board games to chose from too. Since it was a Sunday, the football game was playing on the screens which i loved also! If you're in downtown Bakersfield stop by for a drink, you won't regret it :)

Finally made it to this local gem! And wow! It's huge! You'd never know it until you walk in.

Tons of options for craft beers and hard seltzer's. I was here for a live band event and it was great! Good music, drinks and nice ambiance.

Food is available as well- different vendor out back.

Service was good and beer was delicious and affordable. I do wish they offered a small selection of wine. Definitely will be back.

The Agua Fresca Seltzers are delicious!! Ashley was so patient with me. She went over all the drinks they had. She sure knew her beers. Love the vibe. Sat outdoors and enjoyed the breeze. Drinks are very affordable, had 4 12 oz drinks and it was 30 bucks.

This place is ok; ambience and vibe are cool. But they had mostly seltzers and only a few beer choices. Not a seltzer fan and the beer choices they had were meh. Hopefully they get some more beer on tap soon.

As a patron, I felt as if I was invading a high school clique. Service was almost unfriendly and when I accidentally sat in a reserved chair,, I was told in a very unfriendly manner that I was doing so. Notice to service , You are not entitled to gratitude from my wallet unless earned.
