First time I've been there in 30 years, fish was always a tradition on Friday and Saturday nights. Got there early, not a big crowd but only one server and he was running his a$$ off. Beer was cold, a gin and tonic was served in a pint glass with a soda straw (?). Anyway- the fish was a good as remembered- big chunks of fried cod. Fries were crispy and hot too. The dill sauce was good but seems like the recipe might have changed or memory remembered something "better". Would definitely recommend for the big food people, the all you can eat special is a bargain.

Great food, Sunday brunch is excellent. Daily specials that won't break the bank. Excellent service from all staff members. Family feel atmosphere, highly recommend.

The restaurant is only open during Sunday Brunch we were told. So it was eating in a bar. We sat for quite a while before someone finally asked if we had been taken care of.
We looked at the menu, and found the prices were more than a bit extreme. We both ordered Fried Pork Tenderloin sandwiches.
The tenderloins arrived tough and over-cooked.
The price for 2 tenderloins with water was $35.19.
Wanted to try the Fish Fry, but the prices for it were blacked-out on the menu.
Service was not great either. It appeared they were severely understaffed.
We won't be going back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - M H.Pekin, IL014Jul 14, 2023
Glad I went here while staying at the hotel. I stayed on a Wednesday night. The special was fried chicken. It was excellent and cooked perfectly. 4 pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw and corn... for only 12 bucks! Just can't beat the price and amount you get... I definitely get it again.

This restaurant has a great environment and friendly staff. Plenty of TVs and good music. The food quality was rather poor. The fish was dry And the relish tray was really simple as seen in the picture. I would recommend driving into town and finding a different restaurant.

My mom and I came to the bar for a night cap. The place was modern and there was plenty of space for seating. A few tv's were on showing golf , wrestling, and the Paralympics. Only a few people were having drink when we came down.
Lots of drink options listed on the menu, so everyone could pick something to enjoy (boozy or non alcoholic). Plus they have a good menu for food options too.
The bartender was very nice and gave us 1/2 price on a bottle of wine (which we could take back to the room if we were not finished). He also made the best grasshopper milk shake , which was so much better than McDonald's!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - James H.Nashua, NH16548248May 13, 2022
Great little hotel tavern/restaurant situation. Get the chicken fry special - it's like 3 meals worth of chicken. Huge and crispy. Tony is a great host & bartender.

I go to this bar in Davenport whenever I am there for business since I always stay at the Steeplegate Inn. It is a good bar with food from the restaurant next door and the food is always good. I usually get the Pork chops and lick the plate clean.
The waitresses are always so nice and because of this, the service is great.
I will be coming here to eat and grab a nightcap for as long as I travel to Davenport for business.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Keith H.Union, MO08Jan 16, 2020
Wow! What a gem and such a great dining experience! The staff was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious and even the background music was diverse and pleasant. Only wish I lived in the area to be able to come here more frequently. Fear not go in and enjoy! My wife and I sure did!

I was looking for good place to eat and stumbled upon this restaurant. I was a bit skeptical when I first pulled up and noticed it was at the comfort inn. I am glad I decided to go in. The food, drinks and service is amazing. I would highly recommend going here. I will certainly keep this on my list if I come back to Iowa.
