Yoshida is a solid Izakaya restaurant located in the business area of Osaka near Yodoyabashi station on the Midosuji subway line and Keihan line.

We were lucky enough to reserve the private room. There are other tables but there's also bar seating.

Drink-wise, we started off with dai ginjo sake. The drink went down smoothly. The beer available is Premium Malts beer.

We started off with some hors d'oeuvres. These were already present on the table when we arrived. Included are small pieces of grilled fish and a small bowl with cheese with hints of pepper.

We then had a sashimi platter that featured a variety of fishes including tuna, ika, ebi, kanpachi and scallops. This included grounded wasabi and ginger. The plate was garnished with daikon and wakame. The fish was overall very fresh. The scallops were melt-in-your-mouth.

We then had a variety of salads including a Jyago salad with tofu, and a basic leafy green salad with mushrooms and pork shabu. The former was a bit sour but the latter tasted like typical Japanese sesame dressing. They were both a nice balance to the greasier offerings coming up next.

Next we had butter scallops. Tasted good. A bit heavy.

We then had the grilled and salted masago. This was followed up with grilled tuna. The skin of the tuna was crispy and the meat was really meaty and juicy. There's a wedge of lemon the squeeze on top.

Finally, we finished off with matsutake rice and some pickled vegetables. By this time, we were all really stuffed.

Service was attentive. The server came frequently to take away plates.

Overall, Yamada's is a great restaurant.

I don't know if an English menu is available so it might be best to bring a native speaker with you.
