In light of the upcoming spooky holiday I thought I'd take a "stab in the dark" and see if anyone has been visited by extra guests at any of the local McMenamins. My mom is an avid ghost enthusiast and we've been to many in search of the rumored haunts. We haven't stayed at any of the hotels but it's widely rumored on a national level that Edgefield, Kennedy School and White Eagle, among others, are densely haunted. It doesn't surprise me with their rich history's, but has anyone actually seen or heard anything???? If not, this might make for a great Halloween weekend getaway!

I think Edgefield is haunted - especially the golf course.

There is some sort of anti-gravitational-nebulous-vortex that sits around every hole...causing a par three to turn into, well, a par hell-of-a-lot-more-than-three.

oops - I've said too much...

The blue moon is often haunted by frat boys.

I missed this thread- the Kennedy School definitely felt a little creepy to me.

I love it- great place- had a blast, but I certainly can imagine the wispy forms of long-dead schoolchildren gliding thru the place long after the movies have stopped, and the bars are closed.

It could just be the architecture- and the fact that it is in fact, a former school- but the place definitely had a semi-creepy vibe.

If you're good, I'll tell you all my ghost story from Vegas sometime.

Keep in mind that McMenamins only buys (or is gifted by the City) those kind of dilapidated buildings that ALL have questionable history's.  The Grand Lodge was a nursing home and I think had a morgue in the basement. Edgefield was a poor farm and had numerous disease break outs and deaths.  Hotel Oregon has a history of UFO sitings and I think they have an annual celebration for it.

However, the only place where my hair stood up on my neck was the Olympic Club in Centralia, WA.  There is a VIBE in the air of those hallways that is from another world!

The Kennedy School at least has it's own bathrooms in the guest rooms, so you don't need to walk in the hallways at night to use the facilities.

Have enough beers and you can see anything!

I second the Oly Club in Centralia.  My room had a painting of some old-time regular back in its brothel/hotel days... his eyes were really creepy.  And since it's a bathroom-down-the-hall place, you can't always avoid those hallways at nighttime.
