Scoma's, located perfectly on the San Francisco Bay, is one of the most iconic restaurants in the city, having opened in 1965. Since then, the restaurant has provided the freshest, most sustainable and delicious local seafood to locals and visitors alike. Priding itself on its "Pier To Plate" menu, Scoma's owners, chefs and management pride themselves on their deep relationships with the local fishing community where they source most of their seafood. Guests can even watch the fishing boats pull up to the restaurant's own fish receiving station and get a glimpse of that day's catch before it is artfully served on their plate. Some classic favorites include the "Lazy Man's" Cioppino, Fresh Dungeness Crab, World Famous Clam Chowder, Prawns Annuzzi, and a wide variety of pastas and seasonal selections. Scoma's also offers a full bar with a fantastic craft cocktail program and an extensive local beer, award-winning wine list for those looking to relax and imbibe while watching the sun set over the water. Scoma's offers complimentary valet parking, just right in front of our restaurant. Please call us if you need any assistance with directions or anything else. We hope to see you at Scoma's soon!

Went to Scoma's for Restaurant Week 2024 and we were not disappointed! For people who don't know of Scoma's, its a classic San Francisco seafood restaurant on the pier. With the waiters still wearing white jackets and traditional wood panel walls, it encompasses everything you could recall from great restaurants from the past.
Dinner was great, we started with a Dungeness crab cocktail, followed by a perfect bowl of clam chowder. Our main course was a fresh steamed Dungeness crab covered in a yummy garlic butter. And for desert we had one of the best cannoli I have ever had! The whole prefix dinner was $90 and worth every dime.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 8, 2024
Today I was playing tourist near Fisherman's Wharf, and we were happy to try this gem. My family got a reservation in advance - the whole party should be present in order to be seated. We started the evening with shrimp cocktail and raw oysters! Perfect appetizers for the cozy boat-like ambiance.
A must try was the "Lazy Man's" Cioppino. Packed with fresh seafood! My favorites were the pieces of fish and scallops (these were huge)! The red sauce was light and flavorful, not too salty. I liked dipping the bread in there too. Quite satisfying.
The Wild Black Cod was really good! It was oddly cut, which made us skeptical... HOWEVER - Cooked perfectly with the crispy texture and tender in the middle. The vegetables and rice it came with was negligible though.
The Tiramisu was the perfect dessert to end the night! Fluffy and moist - not too strong on the coffee flavor. Very creamy and overall enjoyable.Helpful 19Thanks 5Love this 17Oh no 0 - Apr 5, 2024
We've been coming to Scoma's for years! A must every time we are in town.
The Clam Chowder is out of this world. The service is consistently excellent, first class every time. Sean was our server and he was fantastic! We love him. Our dessert was the caramel sea salt gelato.....absolutely divine! Get it! I paired that with an espresso martini, perfection.
Beautiful restaurant on the Marina with beautiful views. Wonderful at sunset.
Pricing is reasonable.
They offer Valet parking now which is a bonus.
Cheers!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 2, 2024
During my visit to San Francisco a while ago, I had the pleasure of dining at this renowned restaurant nestled in the iconic Fisherman's Wharf area. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a stunning view of the water.
Upon the recommendation of locals, we couldn't resist trying Scoma's famous clam chowder, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. Creamy, flavorful, and brimming with fresh clams, it was a delightful introduction for my husband, who had never tasted clam chowder before.
In addition to the clam chowder, we also indulged in Scoma's Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, and it exceeded our expectations. Packed with tender, thinly sliced beef and melted cheese, sandwiched between perfectly toasted bread, it was a comforting and satisfying choice.
The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and breathtaking scenery made our visit to Scoma's truly unforgettable.
Whether you're a local or a visitor to San Francisco, I highly recommend dining at Scoma's. With its delectable seafood offerings, cozy ambiance, and waterfront views, it's the perfect destination for a memorable meal in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 25, 2024
The best Seafood Restaurant in San Francisco! Tim was an amazing g server, been at Scoma for 50 years! Old school, unreal options to choose from. Started off with Dungeness Crab(best ever had) and calamari- perfectly lightly breaded cooked both with amazing cocktail sauce with some heat to it. Best Clam Chowder ever had- period... Main course was the best of the best- the one and only "Lazy Man's" Cioppino, a Fisherman's Wharf original: Dungeness crabmeat, scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, market fish, served in "Mama" Scoma's tomato broth. Great desert! Sheryl Scoma was the best host and such much history in a great atmosphere right at Fisherman's Wharf! A must for lunch or dinner when you come to SF! Thank you Mrs. Scoma! The best service and food n SF!

Our group ended up here on a whim and am I glad we did! A beautiful meal and beautiful evening in a classic location was had.
This place has all the old school vibes you'd want from a spot like this. It's classic and cool in all the right ways. The type of restaurant where tasty food, history and good vibes combine.
Simply put, we found the food to be fantastic. The oysters were so fresh. The calamari was perfectly breaded. The sourdough and whipped butter hit the spot. And our pastas - every single one - were prepared to perfection. They don't skimp on the seafood here and everything is high quality. They even have locally made sodas which we couldn't stop sipping on.
I wish I remembered our servers name because he was amazing. We felt like royalty as he attended to our every need and went above and beyond throughout the entire meal. Such a pleasant experience.
If you're craving fantastic seafood in a classic space look no further. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the city.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Feb 27, 2024
Classic seafood place with a quaint interior right by the water! It's in a touristy area, but the food and service is excellent.
Every time I come here I get the clam chowder! This is actually the restaurant that made me realize that I like clam chowder. The sourdough bread they serve is classic SF sourdough and never misses. I also ordered a Bloody Mary with tequila and really enjoyed the Bloody Mary mix.
Truffle fries were delicious, perfect amount of truffle flavor and well cooked fries with yummy cheese.
Oysters were fresh! The warm brussel sprouts salad was so much better than I expected, delicious garlicky flavor with pancetta cooked in and the perfect amount of acidity to cut through the fat.
Finished the meal with a standard shot of espresso. Love this staple seafood spot and will be backHelpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 29, 2024
Tucked away in the heart of Fishermans Wharf I found a wonderful family restaurant named Scoma's. Walking into the bar / dining room, adorned in classic wood paneling and vintage furnishings that exude an air of sophistication, makes it clear this is a classy and timeless establishment.
The dapper bartenders and staff exude professionalism in everything they do, they definitely strive to make every guest feel like they are part of an exclusive club. Although I didn't eat, I thoroughly enjoyed the expertly crafted Old Fashioned's in the classic ambiance of the bar. Cheers!Helpful 10Thanks 1Love this 13Oh no 0 - Feb 8, 20241 check-in
I love seafood, but never get to cook it because my hubby hates the smell. Soooooo, when given the chance, I will find a seafood restaurant that will have something he will eat. Found it!!!!!!
The interior is classy for being on a working dock. It has a date night vibe that I appreciate. Not too loud, sophisticated and has a nice view.
I ordered the "Lazy Man's" Cioppino and it was delicious. It had scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, market fish, topped with Dungeness crabmeat in a tomato broth. Just yummm!
My hubby had their Papparadelle Bolognese and he used the bread to wipe his bowl clean. I picked the perfect restaurant for us!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 31, 2024
Truly a San Francisco staple. An absolute gem in the heart of fisherman's wharf, Scoma's has San Francisco history seeping from every board and nail of the weathered boardwalk leading up to this classic fish house on the pier.
To start, you have to arrive at least thirty minutes before any reservation (and you're crazy not to get a reservation) to enjoy at least one cocktail. Every concoction is mixed to perfection with just enough flourish to transport you back to the 70s. But when it comes to transition to dinner, do not fear - the wine list is pages long and will have a bottle that will suit any of your seafood-pairing needs.
As a native, there is no better spot for fresher, tastier seafood in the city. From the lazy-man's cioppino to the seafood platter to the crabcakes, nothing compared to the flavor combos that graced our plates. Given the old school layout of the restaurant, it was a little hard to hear our group of five; we were spread out in a wide booth and the acoustics were fairly noisy for no music. But that's part of the Scoma charm. Add the white jackets and impeccable service, I'd recommend this spot to any first timer to the city by the bay.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
