Zorbas is a Greek restaurant - you can find gyros and pita and hummus, all staples of Greek food. The service overall was really slow - we were probably there for an hour and a half (a group of four). Perhaps this is intentional for the ambiance, but it didn't work super well for us on a business lunch in the middle of the work day.
I ordered the Signature Gyro, which was seasoned pork and tzatziki, tomato and lettuce. The tzatziki was a bit thick for my taste, but the pork was very well flavored and I enjoyed it immensely!
All gyros come with fries, which were surprisingly the highlight of the meal. They were crispy and delicious. I'd order an entire side order of just fries if I'd ever come back here.
I'd probably try Greek food again and may even come back to Zorbas, but the timeliness of the service and the too heavy sauce earn this visit a 3 star rating.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alan H.Highspire, PA31Sep 9, 2017
Just ate dinner at Zorba's and the food was amazing! We had Heaven as our server and she was the absolute best!
We ordered the original gyro, and wanted to add lettuce and feta cheese, and they were more than happy to oblige. Very clean restaurant, amazing food at great prices, and amazing staff! You get a lot of food for your money, that's for sure! We will definitely be frequenting Zorba's again, and I'm definitely going to request Heaven as our server again. She went above and beyond to meet our food needs, and is bubbly and personable.
We were too stuffed to eat dessert there so we ordered baklava and baklava cheesecake to take home. The slices are HUGE! Mega awesome!
If you're looking for great Greek food in the Harrisburg area, you have to check them out! My wife is 1/4 Greek so she's picky about Greek food, and she approves! :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Deric L.Harrisburg, PA33211Nov 19, 2015
Stopped in for lunch with a friend and had the gyro. Tasty overall: The meat was delicious; the tzatziki had a milder flavor than expected and was applied a bit heavily. The fries were good, too.
Pleasant ambiance in the dining room; only one TV that you can face away from if desired. Great place for trainspotting. Took a quick peek in the bar area and it seemed decent.
Service was attentive. Bill for lunch for two, including drinks and tax, excluding tip, was $20. There were more expensive meal options available; they sounded enticing.
Would come again. Easy to get to from downtown Harrisburg and Interstate 81.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jay R.Etters, PA4412Feb 18, 2017
No complaints here! Back street location just outside the city with pretty good, authentic Greek food. Wife and I split the saganaki as an appetizer. Very well done, although after Theo's, we were a little disappointed it wasn't flambeed. My pastitio was superb; the bechamel was something special. My wife had a veggie gyro and raved. Not too expensive, if you worry over that.

Excellent from start to finish. Servers are attentive, friendly and helpful. The food is great! The Spicy Feta appetizer is out of this world. The Greek Food to the Subs and salads are some of the best in the area! Highly recommend!

Great food and I'm a harsh critic- the barkeeper was a very nice and engaging person, the clientele varied and all nice and the souvlaki kabobs were perfectly seasoned and cooked.

Finally got back to Zorba's to try the Greek menu. Very tasty. We had things off the daily special board. I had a eggplant "shoe", a half of tender eggplant filled with meat sauce and covered with béchamel sauce, a lighter version of moussaka. My husband had the chicken skewers, which were tender moist and well scorched on the outside. We also had a tiropita, a cheese filled phyllo pocket. They also had grilled octopus as a special but I find them a little too intelligent to eat.... The waitress kindly gave us a couple of samples of deserts since we were too full to order a whole order of their various phyllo pastries.
pity that someone has to call names when reviewing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 11, 2014Previous reviewZorba's is where Sisco's Pizzeria and Restaurant used to be. they still have Sisco's pizza and it's as good as ever, maybe even better with what seems to be a slightly different crust.
The same dough is used to make the fresh rolls for the subs.
They haven't opened the restaurant side of the building yet and the menu is limited to pizza, cold subs and gyros. They do have a good selection of beers on tap: when we were there, Leinenkugel shandy, Founders Brawler, Stella Artois, Heinken and (alas) Coors Light on tap. There was also a good selection in the coolers at the back of the bar.
The bar area is very nice, with ceiling fans and light colored walls. The bar itself seats about a dozen with a garland of vines and grapes above it. There are about 6 or so tables in it. Two large tv's flank the bar. They had the Science Channel on one which I appreciate being a nerd and having no interest in sports at all.
Prices are good. A pint glass of shandy was $4 as of 08/10/14. - John S.York, PA21361Jun 12, 2017
We really like Greek food (gyros, souvlaki, spanokopita, etc....), and have found there are not many options in York for good Greek food (Gyro's Express is the best option we have), so we are always looking for Greek restaurants taht are within 45-60 minutes of us. Stumbled across some reviews of Zorba's, and we gave it a try last Saturday evening for dinner. As has been noted in other reviews, it's off on it's own, on a quiet little street, and they have one door to go to the bar area, and a separate door to find the dining room. We were a little surprised to be the only customers in the dining room for dinner on a Saturday night, but we are adventurous so we grabbed a booth and ordered some beers. We ended up trying their gyros platter (gyros meat, pita bread, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, onions, fries and a side salad), along with a white pizza. The food was very good - everything tasted fresh & flavorful. The gyros meat appeared to be sliced from a gyros spit, which is how we prefer it. The pizza was very good, as well. Our server (Melissa) was very friendly & attentive to us. She was busily cleaning while we were there, and overall, the whole dining area seemed to be very well cleaned & maintained. It's definitely a place that we would frequent if we lived closer to it. But we are 45 minutes away, and the food was not so spectacular that we want to drive for an hour and a half just to get their food. But if you are in the area, and if we find ourselves in the area again looking for a place for dinner, this is definitely a good option.
