This review relates to the FIT Museum, and nothing else.
In a word, the museum is terrific! Admission is free, it is readily accessible by subway, and there is a charming red carpet leading directly to the exhibit space, which I thought was very clever. The designs themselves are lovely - I would have bought several of the dresses / pieces on display! And it's really fun to see what the designers of tomorrow are creating today.
This is a lovely way to spend an hour or so.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Allisea N.Brooklyn, NY0504Dec 31, 2023Updated review
Great school. My daughter graduated from FIT. My one peeve that still bother me is their logo. For a well known school of design, they have the most plain and boring logo. I saw the same logo in my workplace cafeteria. They really need to get a more distinctive logo. I can't even get a sweatshirt without people thinking it's for fitness vs the school. NO ONE can tell it apart.

The logo is like some fitness center/company. A shirt that say FIT (exact same font btw). Otherwise great school if you can get your schedule and timing of required courses lined up. Or else you consider your graduation delayed.

I've been to many exhibits at the school and around Manhattan. Excellent Educational Opportunity if you enjoy Fashion. My daughter has taken classes and makes some of her clothes.
This year Macy's is featuring their designs made of Flowers at the Flower Show. Beautiful to see. I'm glad I can enjoy the fruits of their labor all year long.Helpful 50Thanks 0Love this 48Oh no 0 - Gary G.San Diego, CA758776Jan 14, 2022

They have this free excibition and is amazing.
25 years anniversary of Disney.
The designs are amazing.
Plenty of current outfit with that soft milenial touch based in Disney movies.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Victor W.Philadelphia, PA5072662189Apr 14, 2019
The works of art in both the museum and front lobby of the school itself are divine
++Free
++Great exhibits and history
++Exhibitionism exhibit is phenomenal with historical, cultural, visual/textural amalgamations and permutations that are surely worth a visit
I think the pictures I uploaded say it all, but you must visit to see these beautifully inspired pieces in person!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brant S.New York, NY075Jan 22, 2020
Hi FIT,
This negative feedback is for the admission office because of all the complications I have been through in the past few months and now I can't be quiet anymore.
last November, I registered two credit courses and I was in and out the admission center several times because I was trying to figure the in-state tuition application and waiting for the approval from the staff but he VERY ignored my email but I kept my patient then finally I got the approval from him last week then I found out that I missed payment due date and my courses are not scheduled in my student account anymore.
I am mad and exhausted from all these troubles and feel this school is not welcome me at all.
ISN'T SCHOOL REGISTRATION SHOULD BE SIMPLE?Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 18, 2015
We took my younger daughter for portfolio day to present her artwork and to hopefully get a better idea of what major she would like to take. I was very impressed, the staff was organized and informative. When we first arrived they sat us in groups according the student's course of study. After that they started calling students by groups to be evaluated and giving them guidance on how to proceed to their next step in the admission process.
While counselors were speaking to the students, we the parents were given breakfast and there were advisors to answer any of our questions. They too were also very informative. It was a continental breakfast with bagels, muffins, fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee and tea. All was well prepared and then extended to the students.
They assisted my daughter with exactly what she needed to prepare for her next visit. One of the advisors actually spent quite a bit of time with us discussing all our options. I will be looking forward to our next visit. I always hear good things about FIT, there have been many successful people who have graduated from there.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - 761092338Dec 26, 2017
I love that FIT offers exhibits that are free and open to the public! The current exhibition shows how the dress form and the ideal of a women's shape has changed over time! From curvaceous to twiggy! Should be a lesson to women to be comfortable in their own skin at all sizes!
