Tavern On The Bay

Went to the Tavern last night. Had an awesome time with our family. The snapper, fish tacos , and grouper sandwich were hot and delicious. Service was a 10 - the staff almost runs to your table. Watched a March Madness game on their big screen which was better than being there in person!

The good news is the beer is cold.
I ordered a burger Med Rare. It came out like a dead hockey puck. Absolutely no taste.
I have had thousands of burgers in my life and this might have been the worst.
Completely ignored by the bar maid. Waited 1/2 hour to pay my check.

The weather was perfect on 2/17/24 when one of my sisters, her husband and my cousin from London met me there for my birthday (month). Of course I was late because I had to squeeze in some blood work at first available appt. They had chosen a wonderful table outside on the water and ordered draft beers, I believe. My cousin wasn't too hungry, so he got the chicken tenders or something. They looked OK. I ordered I believe the salmon sandwich and even though they had creamed spinach which is a fave of mine, I went with the fries and shared them. Everybody liked them. I didn't eat until I got back home. They were rushing back to FLL to hop on annual family cruise. It is a gorgeous spot, indoor/outdoor & we are going to be going back there also. It is right next door to EJ's breakfast place which looks awesome too! Servers were friendly! They also have a loyalty program.

The ambiance and staff is great ! The food not the best . I ordered pretzel bites and they brought out a HUGE plate of what looked to be an entire box of pretzel bites you would buy at Publix with spicy cheese. Not what I hoped for so sent those back . We also ordered sliders that came out very very dry . Definitely not worth their price . I guess with all the things going for them we wished their food didn't taste like it was microwaved and straight from a box. Maybe we will try something else but the last time we were there with friends visiting from out of town we ordered burgers and they were not good . So bad that our friends took a few bites and stopped eating .
Fun place to watch sports and have drinks , nice and friendly staff , but poor quality food .

Thought we'd try out happy hour. Enjoyed $2 off Drafts and 1/2 price pizzas. Happy Hour is 3-6 pm Wed-Fri. Draft beers were $3.50 while IPA's were $6 after the $2 discount. The sports bar was almost empty. There were two other customers at the bar and two tables with diners. The bartender was friendly, but not particularly interactive with her customers. I have to say that the beer was ice cold....very nice. On the downside, the bar area was buzzing with fruit flies. We did see plastic cups over the tops of bottles of alcohol behind the bar area. We had to keep our beers covered with napkins and swish away the fruit flies while eating.

We ordered the Margherita Pizza and the Scampi "shrimp" Pizza. Both were okay for the 1/2 price special of $7.50 & $8.00, but I wouldn't pay full price for these pizzas otherwise. They are oval in shape, six slices, with a very thin crust. The Margherita pizza was a bit greasy, and the scampi pizza was heavy on the cheese and skimpy on the "jumbo shrimp" which were cut up into small pieces atop the pizza.

There wasn't much of a vibe going on. However, unlike some other reviews expressed, we did receive our food promptly after ordering. The indoor dining area was on the cold side. I would go again for happy hour drinks, but probably plan to go somewhere else for dinner afterwards.

This is THE place to watch your favorite team play while in Naples! 20+ TVs with the game on the loudspeaker. We went to watch the NYE college football playoffs and the place was packed with supporters of the four teams

We got the boneless wings and bbq chips. The bbq chips were great. We got two different flavors of boneless wings, and the breading was inconsistent between the two.

The food was typical of your average bar food, but the environment to watch a game is unmatched!

I don't know if it's that I'm spoiled from miami but I just couldn't get past some of the flavors here.

The burger came out well done when we had asked for medium.

The pulled pork on the chips left us hoping for some more flavors.

But the fries were pretty fire!

We probably won't be back here for a while but there's potential here for some great dishes, they just need a little more love.

We love this place because within wali distance from our place. 2 of us ordered the prime rib with fries very satisfied. One ordered the se wrap enjoyable. One ordered grouper with tide an broccoli. Enjo d it

Service was great, waitress was kind and attentive throughout. space is clean, bathroom is clean.

Unfortunately you don't go out to eat for purely good service and clean spaces. It was my first in Naples and at this bar. I was in the mood for classic bar food. I saw some good reviews here claiming it had the best burger so I was intrigued. I also saw a mentioned of the BBQ chips with pulled pork and it's deliciousness.

I have to say pretty disappointing. I am a huge burger fan, and the burger was ok. Just that. Fries were great probably the star of the show.

The BBQ chips were just bad. The pulled pork almost tasted dull. It's dressed in a moonshine BBQ and another BBQ sauce and has blue cheese. What a strange combo. I gave it a few different bites. The pork on it own. With chips. Parts with all the sauce, parts with no sauces, and all together. Just not good. I had high hopes.

Now in a world where it was good, it's could feed 2-3 people, it's a big dish. And on this visit it pretty much looked the same as when it was dropped off. We were starving so we killed the burger and fries.

The waitress was kind enough to take it off our bill without us even asking or really expecting it. So that was awesome. She was willing to replace it but we didn't wanna take a chance on another dish.

Maybe my standards for Naples bar food is too high.

I've been coming to this place for years! They have plenty of TVs available to watch sports, etc. but what I really come for is the outdoor seating with the view of the bay and boats. There is a street in between the bay and the restaurant, but still beautiful views nonetheless. Each time I've been here the food is great! My favorite is their Cuban sandwich. I'm disappointed that they discontinued their potato wedges, but understand menu items changed during the pandemic. Great food and awesome atmosphere!
