YoonCy BBQ

Decided to order take out for dinner tonight and everyone in my family agreed to Korean .
Yoon Cy BBQ it is located in the same shopping center as Safeway Kapahuluu.

I ordered their cold noodles Kook soo it was ok comes with Teri beef, Bean sprouts, Choi sum , cabbage with and noodles on the bottom . My wife had their Kalbi plate good taste but lots of fat than beef . Comes with 3 sides of banchan for their regular plate .

Service was fast and friendly support local

Lot of solid take out Korean BBQ restaurant choices that feature almost identical menu items, the difference maker to me is the quality of their banchan and YoonCy has some of the best.

The Great: Food is solid, generous portions, but love the Banchan here. Our favorites are the Mumallaengi Muchim or dried daikon strips and their cucumber kimchi. I love a well marinated cucumber kimchi and am often disappointed when other places do a quick marinade that does not soak into the cucumber. Yooncy does it right and their other sides are great. If you forgo your rice you get an extra portion of banchan as well.

The Good: Main dishes are solid, Kalbi, Meat Jun, Fried mandoo never disappoints and they are generous with their portions as well. Decent prices, in line with other Korean takeout places. I haven't tried their soups yet but will try when the weather gets colder.

The Okay: Parking can hit or miss in the Safeway lot, drive around a bit as something will usually open up in 10 minutes or so but you can also find lots of parking spaces on the upper deck over Safeway.

Overall: YoonCy may be a little further away from our home but to me the banchan makes the extra time well worth it!

Reasonably priced (considering todays prices) korean bbq take out with really good banchan (mu marengi is good). Their Aloha mix is my go to with a mix of meat jun, bbq chicken and bulgogi. Parking is pretty bad but they can't really control that as that mall is always crowded.

Found this restaurant on Yelp and stopped by on 04-05-24. Very deserving of 5 stars; food was excellent with superb flavor and generous portions. We are visiting so won't have an opportunity to return this trip, but it will be a "must return" on our next visit!

Amazing bbq mix plates and loved the sides! The sweet potato and kimchi is my jam every time I come here. The service is always fast and the cashiers are always so sweet. Love this place for togo plates!

Was very disappointed on my last visit!
We went for dinner around 5:50 and basically no korean sides.
They only had, corn, mac salad, kim cheese, daicon and broccoli!
They said was end of day so none in kitchen
I thought they should of at least adjusted price
I was sooo disappointed
I will never return

I wanted something different from my normal rotation of restaurants that was close by for dinner so I chose YoonCy BBQ. My sister likes them a lot so I figured it was time to check them out. They are located in the same complex as Safeway on Kapahulu. The restaurant is primarily take out but they do have a table with a couple chairs right outside if you want to dine there. You also have the tables right outside of Safeway that you can use as well.

They offer a bunch of items so I had a hard time deciding. I ended up going with a combo plate with Meat Jun and Chicken Katsu. Normally I don't get Chicken Katsu but I figured it would pair best with this chili oil I've been wanting to try at home. They offer a bunch of sides and they all look tasty. My order came with 4 sides so I chose bean sprouts, choy sum, potatoes and cabbage. The kitchen didn't take too long to get my order out. It was heavy when they handed my order over to me. That's always a plus!

Aside from friendly customer service, the food here is pretty good! The Chicken Katsu wasn't over cooked and the Meat Jun was fried nicely. It was a nice surprise to get a piece of mandu with the order. They provided 3 sauces with the order (1 was Shoyu, 1 was a chili and vinegar type of sauce and the last was the kastu sauce). I ended up mainly using the chili oil I have at home. The plate was massive and I just barely finished it. It's good value for the amount of food they provide. I'll definitely have to come back to try their Kalbi one day.

The "four choice" KBBQ plate is one of Hawaii's many unique food contributions and YoonCy is my go to for local-style Korean. Pick your meat and select four choices from the bar of banchan sides.

BBQ chicken is usually really nicely marinated, the spicy pork is bomb, and they have modestly seasoned vegetables and banchan. +1 star for the ono garlic (fried) potato salad and my favorite dried daikon -- both not commonly found at takeout spots.

Tourists seem to need to be at Safeway at all hours of the day so parking can be a bit nuts. I usually spare myself the trauma and disappointment by heading directly to the upper deck, which is never more than half full.

Call in your order if you don't want to wait. Unlike a lot of spots, they never overestimate the amount of time needed to prepare your order. Be there when they tell you to be there and your food will be piping hot. Busy, overscheduled people like me appreciate this kind of thing!

Super reliable and I think it's the best local KBBQ option in the area.

Korean food just brings you the much needed spice in your life.

YoonCy BBQ is located in the Kapahulu Shopping Center that Safeway anchors. This tiny mom and pop places is the affordable option to some of the yummy cravings to spice thing up.

I did notice the slight price increase obviously from the higher cost in many products is understood and you also do see it the portion size as well though I'd rather have it cost less than eating a meal for two.

Today and it's my usual favorite is Yook Gae Jang, spicy no green onions which also comes with rice and four veggies!!! Their veggie choices here have all the classic finds along with local faves which I do love instead of some pre-chosen sides.

I was really hungry because I completely forgot to take some picture lol! Dove right into my cucumber kimchee omg yummy!! The soup was HOT and spicy which I loooooooved!! Filled with shredded beef, long rice and bean sprouts this soup is just comforting and checked all the boxes I had to fill which is all I really asked for.

Fast and friendly service and a few parking stalls dedicated to takeouts only parking is convenient but can still be a bit struggling at times but so worth it with the value you're able to get here.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TRY THIS PLACE IF YOU HAVEN'T YET.

I tried the Yooncy Special and the meat jun. Kalbi, bbq chicken, bbq meat and meat jun were all good. Usually I don't care for some other places bbq meat (bulgogi) but theirs is excellent. Nice and tender ... well-seasoned and no gamey taste. Meat jun was also tender and had just the right amount of egg coating.

Vegetables were good as well as the Mac salad.

Parking can get a bit busy so what I do is I park on the second level at the far end of the parking lot which is at the ocean or Waikiki side. Take the elevator down to the ground level and YoonCY is just to the right.
