The studio smelled strongly of plastic. The instructor was yelling out instructions like it was boot camp... very awkward.

I've practiced at a lot of studios all over Ohio and in Hawaii. It's really hard to compare one studio to another because each one has its own vibe, practice style, and goal for what it wishes to accomplish. So, instead of comparing Yoga Lounge to any other studio I'll just review this place on what I experienced.
First off, I live in Portage Lakes and would never just randomly choose to take a class at The Yoga Lounge because it is kind of far when compared to the other great selection of studios in my area. But I decided to apply for their teacher training program this fall and since I've never been there thought it would be a wise decision to test run the place, and teacher leading the program, to make sure that it would be a good fit for me.
Since I haven't been to Hudson in YEARS, I'm not at all familiar with the area and had some trouble finding it. It's located in the (BEAUTIFUL) square on the upper level of the parking deck. Since I was going in circles due to my gps telling me it was where it wasn't (it really was there, just on the other side of the building and on the top deck) I had to call the studio for help. The girl that answered the phone wasn't able to give me the best directions, because I couldn't even really say where I was, but she stayed on the phone with me until I finally was able to find the place. I really appreciated that.
When I walked in the studio I was struck with how beautiful the entire place was. Like, really REALLY well thought out and pretty. The front of The Yoga Lounge is a nice little boutique with clothes, mats and lots of other yoga related things. I didn't look around as much as I should of and didn't check out any prices, but they really seemed to have a nice selection of things. The bathrooms are beautiful ( I know, kind of a weird thing to admire) and there is even a shower in a separate room for you to use.
The actual studio itself was really nice. Big windows overlooking the square and just a really great peaceful feel to it. The best part (in my opinion) was the fact that there were markers on the floor for where to lay your mat. That way there's not fighting for space of rearranging your mat to squeeze someone else in. It's such a little silly thing but I was really excited about this.
I took Michelle's all level Vinyasa class. The room was heated to about 80 degrees and wasn't too hot and I definitely sweated more than in my usual practice. The class itself was pretty fantastic for an all levels class. there were enough modifications offered that I could really practice at a higher level and the people who were taking it as their first yoga class could still participate and not be uncomfortable with the poses. The instruction was great and and the teacher was hands on offering adjustments.
Overall, The Yoga Lounge was one of the best studios I have been to. Now that I've experienced it I would gladly drive all the way to Hudson for my regular practice.
Such a great place and I'm looking forward to trying other classes and teachers, as they all offer a lot of variety.
If you are looking for a new studio or have never taken yoga, this is a great place to start or make your new "home".Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Carrie P.Stow, OH4610Nov 14, 2016
This place is great. Some of the instructors are the best I've ever had. They match their voice and their breath to the instruction of the movements which I find motivating. They offer constant fine tuning and advanced steps even in the foundations class. So no matter what level you are they help you to customize your session. Some instructors really give the extra effort to weave a story into the class which I also appreciate. The yoga lounge elevates from just a yoga session to a yoga experience.
The space is beautiful and relaxing. The location is easy to get to just arrive early to park.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jessica M.Mayfield Heights, OH03Aug 5, 2017

I was back in Hudson for our 45th reunion and looking for a yoga studio. This was excellent. Great class at 1045-12p on Saturday. Room was really nice and they had mats to use. I wish I could have taken their Power Yoga class but didn't have time.

Linda Riddell is an amazing instructor. Not only does she provide hands on adjustment she also will grt into poses right alongside you. She has a great sense of humor that offers a lightness to her practice. Her Power Vinyasa class is excellent. Long holds on poses. I loved everything about this place--the Zen-like decor, high quality clothing for sale, and the studio space which was spacious and filled with natural light. Linda will no longer be at Yoga Lounge after today but rest assured I will drop in at her new location despite the fact it is a 35 minute drive for me!

Amy and her wonderful group of teachers have built a wonderful oasis here in Hudson. They do a terrific job of combining the mental, spiritual and physical aspects of yoga. If you want to get your sweat on there is ample opportunity, but you will also come away with a more peaceful approach to your day. Namaste

I used to come here during breaks from college and always loved the classes, now that I've moved back to the hudson area, I come to multiple classes a week and LOVE every second of it! Whether I'm in the mood for a hot n' sweaty power vinyasa or a relaxing restorative class, the teachers are always phenomenal and there are perks all over the place :) free yummy tea after class, two very very cute studio dogs, clean showers, location is great (right in the middle of First & Main) and a great little boutique (they sell lululemon)! The Yoga Lounge also just started offering barre classes which are really fun too! YL is my favorite studio and I'm always looking forward to going to class!

I am new to yoga and just came to ohio area 2 weeks ago. So this review is from the point of view of a beginner. I've taken 1 advanced and 2 beginner classes and the instructors are very helpful, encouraging and kind. Just an overall great vibe to the place, both the studio, which is clean, beautiful, fresh, and the staff, who have all been very positive. I am excited about this practice I have embarked upon and recommend the Yoga Lounge to anyone that wants to get started!
