YMOK Daycare Austin

My daughter has attended this day care for over a year . I have only great things to say about the daycare. they have taught my daughter many things she loves all the staff and has many friends they have been teaching my daughter to count , abcs , colors And even some Spanish phrases. Sadly we will be leaving because of a move out of town otherwise my daughter would stay here until pre K . i recommend this day care the director and staff are all very kind and respectful as well as understanding. my daughter is always happy and ready to go to day care she runs inside every morning . the activities they do for the children are also very creative and fun We will miss the daycare very much thank you for treating my child as your own

My 2 year old son & daughter of 4 months goes here. We love it! My son is learning Spanish & has a lot of friends there.
They also have a great location, 1 block south of Ben White on S 1st Ave.

My son went here pretty much as soon as he was two months old (unfortunately I had to go back to work a little sooner than the three months) until this pandemic had us worried. He is now three years old, and we know that the wonderful people at YMOK will treat him the best, will make sure he's safe and well provided for, and will love him almost as much as his father and I do. They treat us like family. They are amazing, and I know that we made the right choice for us by taking them there.

I will like to start, for thanking the director Cristina Romero, of the YMOK Daycare. She was and still is the must amazing teacher that I will ever know.

She received my son, when he was 9 months (it was my first time being apart from him) and she help me and him, with the transition. By making sure he was always in good hands. They were some days where I needed to hear how he was doing in the middle of the day and she was always attentive to my phone calls and to reassure that my baby was having an amazing time. When it was time, to pick him up from the daycare, he will be super happy and he never wanted to leave :)

All the teachers at the YMOK Daycare are very sweet, attentive, kind, patience with all the kids.
They ensured that children will play, learn and educate them at the same time. I have so much respect and I am very thankful to every single teacher.

I will never find the rights words to express, how grateful I am, to the team of amazing teachers of YMOK for giving my son lots of LOVE.

We spent there almost a year but unfortunately, my company was relocated to the Domain, and we had to move up north of Austin. But every day, I wish, that my son could be part of YMOK again.

We used this daycare briefly because we were looking for part time options. I appreciate the owner's flexibility on this. But that is it. My daughter was kept in baby room once she was walking and talking and was so bored. She wasn't allowed to go outside because babies didn't go outside. She was often forced to take morning nap once she had outgrown morning nap (age 12-13 months). I dropped off early and all the littles were sitting around a TV. Some days, there were 10 babies/toddlers or more with one staff member at drop off and I had to just arrive late to work till more workers came because I'm not taking those chances with my baby!!
All I can say is that my daughter survived. And while we paid cash, many were on CCMS and there are worse daycares that take CCMS.

Ymok staffs with leadership of Cristina are so professional, caring and loving. We took our daughter when she was only 3months, it was tough however with support and reassurance of Cristina ( daily pictures and videos it helps), it got easy .. now she is 3 yrs old, we're happy and she still enjoy going to daycare "school as she call it". We have company discounts for big name daycares but we choose Ymok because of the nurturing environment and we knew our daughter will not be treated as just a number..

Let start of by saying this daycare is truly amazing. This was the first daycare my daughter attend to and let me tell you, Im glad I called.I would highly recommend to any mom! My daughter was only two years old when she started YMOK and she was still in diapers and being a single mom with two jobs it was hard for me to even start potty training. My daughter was fully potty trained before she turned 3. I want to thank Christina for all the advice and support she has giving me for the past year. My daughter learned how to count, go to the restroom, good manners and distinguish sertant animals in books. I'm pretty sure they sing to the kids because my daughter loves to sing. When I pick her up, she never wants to leave. So hurry call and ask for Christina!!

I do not have enough nice things to say about YMOK, the owner Cristina, and the staff in the infant room. My son started there full-time at 7 weeks, and what could have been a rough transition for both of us was handled perfectly by everyone at YMOK. The infant room staff are fantastic, always keeping me updated on everything going on, and I have always genuinely felt that my son is in the best hands while he's there. Cristina is more than willing to go above and beyond for everyone and has been a tremendous help. My son is now 11 months old and he loves going to school and more than anything I feel extremely comfortable taking him there because I know everyone there truly cares about him. I am not a Spanish-speaker, and I really appreciate that my son has been exposed to Spanish at this young age. Plus, the location is great and prices are very reasonable, so there is nothing not to like. We are moving soon, and we will be very sad to leave YMOK!

Edited to add: Be sure to check DFPS inspections/violations on their website before making your daycare choice, especially in south Austin. I was very glad I did!

This review is long overdue, it has been nearly nine months since my son was at YMOK, but such was the impression they made on us. He was about 21 months when he started and had never been in anyone's care beside my own. It was difficult to decide on a childcare, but after speaking with Ms. Cristina over the phone I decided we would try it out. I was met with such compassion and patience by Ms. Cristina and the teachers, they really understood how hard a transition it was for us and they did all they could to make it an easy one. We came to think of YMOK as family and my son both enjoyed and thrived there, learning and socializing in an environment that felt like a home and family, which was what most mattered to me at his age. We eventually had to move on to a place closer to us when we moved, but will forever be grateful in our hearts for the lovely people of YMOK.
