Yama Sushi

We recently had dinner at Yama Sushi on Volvo Parkway in the heart of Chesapeake's Greenbrier area.

The service was prompt and the food was excellent. We really enjoyed our meal.

I didn't get a picture of the edamame but it was delicious as well. Check out Yama, if you love good sushi!

The place is a good size with ample seating. The servers are really nice and the sushi was good. I especially enjoyed the appetizers.

I'm a lover of this restaurant! I come on a daily basis, and the food and staff is always of the highest quality. They have a good vibe in all locations with cute decorations

Terrible Uber Eats delivery order. Rolls were hastily assembled and bland. I understand it's cold because it was delivered, but the roll was very chewy. Come to find out the shells of the crab were inside the roll. I'm normally fond of Yama, but I'm disappointed with this order. Giving 2 stars only because the food is probably better in restaurant.

This was my first time trying Yama Sushi. I dined in.

The veggie spring rolls were absolutely delicious & flavorful. I'd absolutely get them again. My avocado sushi roll was good... your basic sushi. The miso soup was good too. My husband loved his salmon sashimi, Christmas tree, and miso soup. In total we paid $60.61.

We received our food in a timely manner. The place was not busy for a Wednesday evening. The waitress/customer service was standard. Not exceptional but not bad.

Yama Sushi is a solid place to eat, they never ever disappoint! Staff says hello and greets with smiles when you walk in. Decor is still amazing and it's such a small yet cozy place. We ordered the sushi boat and all was delicious ! The tuna was so fresh! I love the presentation of the food, it makes the experience extra special. The earthquake roll was my ultimate favorite! They gave us a complimentary half roll called seaweed roll. They give you chocolate treats at the end of your meal, so nice . I love their herbal green tea too! Yamas rocks !

Drove all the way out to VB to get sushi on a Monday given most sushi spots are closed Mondays. I should've stayed home. Walked into the establishment and was met with a strong oder not sure what it was. The ambiance is ok with average amount of seating. I ordered a beer (never got it) because the waitress when on break and forgot. Got the miso soup (wasn't bad). Ordered the ichiban roll which was nothing spectacular. Got the eel roll,a roll I've had often from multiple locations but never tasted it like this before. The eel roll was weirdly wet with almost no eel sauce. The flavor on both rolls were not great. I would honestly give no stars but the miso was the highlight of the meal. Even the tap water was warm with ice added. I wouldn't recommend this place. Will absolutely not return to give them a second shot because it was already out my way.

Sushi is my favorite food, so I feel qualified to say that this is one of the best sushi restaurants in Hampton Roads! :) When people ask me for a good sushi restaurant, Yama Sushi is usually my recommendation.

They have a good diversity of rolls and the fish always tastes fresh. My favorites are the Hawaii and Dream rolls. Plus, they always go the extra mile with their food presentation. I never forget to take a picture of my food when I eat here because it looks so cool.

The staff is friendly, and we almost always get a complimentary roll and pieces of candy. I also love the interior decor of the restaurant, so bright and unique.

I've also had food delivered from here to my house, and the sushi tastes just as fresh as it does when you dine in the restaurant. I just love this place!

Found our favorite sushi place in Chesapeake! Yama Sushi is consistently fresh and delicious! Regular rolls are so good and the specialty rolls are unique and so tasty! Great Neck, Iron Man and Superman rolls were yummy! Inside is so inviting and everyone who works there is so kind and welcoming! We love Yama Sushi!
