I love love love cantina Laredo happy hour and boozy brunch! They even have happy hour on Saturdays from 11-5!!
I ordered a house margarita blended with salt on the rim. I also shared an order of queso Laredo with some friends. The margaritas are always delicious and STRONG. In addition, there is complimentary chips and salsa that are refilled almost immediately when empty. The queso Laredo had plentiful steak and pico de Gallo mixed into the cheese. Definitely a great starter.
And if you are visiting for brunch, I definitely recommend the Bloody Mary!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 12, 2018
We have enjoyed this restaurant quite a few times the last year as we do business in Omaha and stay in midtown at the Element hotel often. This is in a nice location and is always nice, clean and a fun atmosphere. The wait staff is always on top of their game and super friendly and helpful.
We always order the table side guacamole as it never disappoints and is always super good! We also order the house margaritas as they are considerably cheaper than the other margaritas. ($8 vs $13-14) We usually enjoy having 1-2 margaritas when we are out and having a cheaper option helps but would be nice if their prices were not so high across the board.
We have ordered many different items on the menu and have not been disappointed ever. However, we highly recommend $2 taco Tuesdays! What a great deal!
We will definitely be back as we like the food and drinks and friendly staff. The 4 stars is due to high prices and lack of free available parking. Luckily we were already staying at the hotel and had a place to park.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Amanda thanks for taking the time to review us! We are glad that you enjoy our food, service and atmosphere so much! Hopefully we will see you next time you are in town. Just in case you aren't staying at the Element just bring your parking ticket in and we will validate it to give you 3 hours of free parking!!

Surprisingly good.
We step into the restaurant at the high rent Midtown Crossing and I immediately notice the expensive interior finish. So I start thinking bland corporate food engineered not to offend anyone and portions driven by the accountants. I was wrong.
The food was flavorful and the portions were generous. The food was also nicely arranged on the plate.
Drinks were good. So was the service.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Jul 27, 2017
Upping their game. Amazing happy hour ($2 domestics, $3 imports, $5 tasty margs!), new menu items like Stacked Chicken Tinga Enchiladas, divine new apps, and an awesome level of energy to give excellent experiences to their customers. The management really cares deeply about what they are doing. Give them a chance!
And the flan .... Oooh the flan....Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

I was visiting my cousin in Omaha and she took me to Cantina Loredo for some appetizers and drinks.
We sat outside which was beautiful and quiet.
The server was young and super sweet. Very knowledgeable and accommodating.
The food was great and the drinks hit the spot.
Will definitely want to go back for dinner when I visit Omaha again!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We came in during happy hour and waited for about 15 min before someone asked if we've been helped. We were told that we could not bar happy hour food unless we sat at the bar, so we moved ourselves there. The service was still slow even though there were two workers there.
I ordered the pollo taqueria. Great presentation but the chicken was on the dryer side. We also ordered the ahi tuna tacos. They were excellent just like what the other yelpers had said. My daughter had the chicken tortilla soup. She didn't like it very much though. She did enjoy the free chips and salsa, however.
Overall, food was just ok. The service was not very good and it wasn't until this server, "Adam," walked in that the restaurant that things perked up. Adam's attitude alone gave this place an extra star.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Cantina Laredo is a pretty classy establishment. Their function and theme is based on creating made from scratch modern Mexican food. The closest thing to them in midtown might be Mula in the Blackstone District. Omaha has no lack of Mexican food; in fact there are so many places to eat at, it it's hard to find a bad meal! If you want street food and homey food you'll be perusing South Omaha mainly on 24th St. If you're looking for some cheesy refried bean tex-mex then you'll head out more to west Omaha. However, If you're looking for a complete house prepared meal and modern spin on Mexican food there are about two or three places in town that have that, and Cantina Laredo is one of them.
My first couple visits were sponsored events by Yelp and we had exceptional food, drinks and customer service. I returned a few more times to see how the service was when it wasn't a sponsored event and I was equally impressed. The staff here really takes care of you. The food I found to be pretty good, although I think stylewise I prefer street style Mexican food. The advantage here is knowing where your food came from and who prepared it. I also like the idea of things made in house, including salsas and hot sauce. I especially like that they sponsor creative events like their tequila tasting dinners and cocktails and creations[1].
With solid footing at Midtown Crossing I feel like it will be here for a long time, and hope to patronize them again soon.

It's always great to hear from a guest that appreciates Modern Mexican. I have to tell you we
really enjoy the special events like the Hands-On Omaha Yelp event. Yelp draws a real foodie
crowd that gives us a creative challenge. Thanks to all of you for making it fun, Marcus - Darin F.Fayetteville, NC27180319Aug 12, 2018Updated review
A pleasent dining experience.
It's been a long time since I last visited Cantina Laredo. It wasn't because if the food, it was always the staff. The staff seemed to have a "don't care" attitude which lead to a negative experience and.not worth visiting or least paying to be ignored or feel that I was inconviencing them, recently I had to visit with friends, despite my objections the need for chips and salsa won out. I was extremely surprised at change in the staff.
We were greeted by a extemely pleasent hostess and a great waiter who handled our table as you would expect, and was happy to see as I dearly love quality Mexican food and now I can finally go back to Cantina Laredo.
The restaurant wasn't overly busy, but I hope others that had the unpleasant experiences can come back and try them again ..Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hey, thanks for checking us out and thanks for your review! Next time you're here, feel free to ask for me (Marcus, general manager). I always like to hear from our guests. Thanks again.
Jun 11, 2017Previous reviewTried this place before, but lately it seems they aren't trying to maintain a business. Walk in and there are open tables, no one waiting but yet a long wait.
Today went in and there were tables available and an empty patio, but still a 30 minute wait. The hostess just mentioned they only have 3 waiters. Needless to say will not be going here again. If they can't figure out how to actually seat customers, I can find places that canNov 13, 2015Previous reviewBeen wanting to try Cantina Laredo for awhile now, finally stopped in and was happy I did. The restaurant has a nice bar and a plenty of seating. Although given the openness of the restaurant the noise level made having a conversation a little difficult, to be fair it was happy hour.
I will agree with others the prices are a bit high, not horrible, but just a bit higher than wanting. The food is good, flavors are well developed and really cuts across the taste buds. Portions are good sized and lead to leftovers.
The service was fantastic. Very attentive, helpful of choosing a drink before dinner. Plates removed quickly and water glass filled attentively. - Feb 5, 2016
I have enjoyed Cantina Laredo on a couple occasions now. It is easy to get to in midtown and is a pretty large restaurant.
The ceviche is super good. Hands down just perfect. Table side quac is also a good way to go fresh tasty and made how you like it
the Camaron Pablano is my favorite. I always loved a stuffed pablano, here they stuff it with shrimp and cheese and then wrap a steak around it.
Service is friendly and spot on. I really enjoy coming hereHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Nice way to start the weekend. Thank you, and come back soon!

My wife and I went to CL this past weekend for the first time, (a gathering with employees that she works with), and it was a pleasant experience.
We sat down and looked over the menu. It's definitely a tad pricey, but it is supposed to be an upscale Mexican restaurant. The service throughout the night was top notch with the waiter checking in every 5 minutes or so.
I ordered the Tacos de Pascada, which was three little mahi mahi taco's, which were good but I'm not a fan of the 'authentic' corn tortilla. The spicy aioli was pretty dang good though, and it was a nice compliment to the fish. It came with rice and beans, which were good.
The highlight of the night were their margarita's. Holy crap they are good. I had two, the Cinco margarita and one of their mango house margarita's. The Cinco was probably the best marg that I've ever had. It was the house marg mix with five different types of tequilla. It was pricey at $11.50 but it was good to try.
Overall, the food was okay but the margs were so good. I would come back for a special occasion for the margs, but probably not the food because of normal quality and price. Nothing about the food blew me away.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
