I have been going to Burlington Vision Associates for years and have always been very satisfied with the care I've received but today I had an issue with my glasses (completely my fault) and even though I know the office is really busy right now with the holidays so close and everyone trying to be seen before the end of the year, the office staff went above and beyond to help me and get me glasses that work. I realized today just how valuable it is to have an eye doctor who takes the time to really care for patients and that is not just another franchise.

Losing my 20/20 vision due to age is not something I've embraced and I really have not spent any time getting to understand the different types of lens designs and what they are good for. In my most recent visit I requested progressive lenses, which as it turns out is a really bad idea when you're working in front of a computer for hours at a time. When I took my concerns back to Dr. Traveis his office fit me in the next day. He listened to my concerns, did an exam to be sure it was the lenses that were the issue, and that nothing had changed with my eyes, then worked with me to choose a more appropriate type of lens. This sort of service is why I go back.

I am, at times, astounded at how incompetent people can be. Visiting Burlington vision associates was one of those times. I called as a new patient and just needed a routine eye exam for prescription lenses. I told this to the clerk who booked me for "an rx check". I show up and they ask my name, don't look in the books, and act as surprised as a bartender serving that horse that just walked in to the bar. I tell them I'm here for a prescription check. They tell me that's not how it's done. I tell them I called and the person I spoke to Said it would be 15 minutes. She said no first we do a full exam that's 45 minutes, and which they can't do for another week, then we do a 15 minute prescriptions. I told him none of that was explained to me on the phone. They replied that there was some miscommunication. Obviously the miscommunication is on their part. If someone calls up and asked for an eye lens prescription at an eye doctor I think it's pretty straightforward. But no. For some reason they couldn't see me till next Tuesday. didn't bother to call me and let me know their policies on new patients. didn't bother to ask if I was a new patient. Complete waste of time. Avoid at all costs.
