Wonderful theater! I simply can't believe I haven't reviewed the IMAX before now.
It is a huge theater, yet when you enter the lobby it has a small, welcome feel that is nice. The staff is always super friendly and the popcorn is always fresh! For our first 5 years here, my family and I had an annual pass. Such an amazing deal that was! You could get unlimited documentaries and 50% off newly released movies. Plus, you got coupons for free drinks and popcorn. In addition, each member received one free entry to the World Golf Hall of Fame Museum. And there used to be mini golf available that was unlimited as well. We've seen it change over the short time we've lived here and sadly, they don't get the patronage you'd think. From what I understand, from the start they were supposed to have an off ramp going directly to the area...but that changed and it didn't happen, and inadvertently hurt the area from the start. A lot of folks don't even realize there is an IMAX here or anything else. I suppose for most folks it is rather hidden back in the World Golf area. So sad really. The area has so much potential and the theater was one of the main things that was holding on. But they can't hold on anymore. That said, the time is coming very soon for them to close their doors for good.
If you haven't checked out the IMAX and want to...you better hurry up! The theater and museum were going to stay open until December, but are now both closing their doors 1 Sep. Check out their website for showtimes. Yes, yes...there is a ton of parking and it's easy to find and a nice walk from any parking lot in the area. If you aren't familiar with the area, then use your GPS. It is a pretty drive back in here as well. Once you get here, you may be pleasantly surprised...it is very pretty.
I'm sad Shell is closing this location, but I get it. I surely hope another theater group picks up where Shell is leaving off and reopens this theater again one day. It will certainly be missed!Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 8Oh no 0 - Sep 4, 2022
Great fun for a late Sunday afternoon! Last minute movie trip to see Jaws- sound was great and the quality on the large screen was great as well. Small snack counter with popcorn, sodas, and candy. Screens are large, sound is very good. Seats are comfy, but of course not as modern as new set up (lean back a bit and rock, but not all the way, not as wide, and less room between seats). Still theatre seating and did the trick. It was fun to enjoy this movie with the kids.

This is probably the best IMAX in area. One of the largest screens in the area. It also has the best sound systems for an IMAX. You feel like you are there with the sights and sounds only the missing is rush of the wind in your face.
Saw movie top gun maverick. Good movie and best venue to see this movie. Just make sure you get there early to get the best seats. The place fills up fast. Also make sure you buy the tickets online. Couldn't buy the tickets at the theater. Every seat was sold out.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 18, 2019
I have been here several times to see movies. Concession and ticket sales are on the main floor when you enter the theater. The staff are friendly and helpful. The place smells of delicious popcorn. It's a very clean and well kept theater.
The screen is enormous. The picture quality and surround sound make every movie a cinematic experience. It's worth the price of admission.
The chair are super comfy and have good head support and moveable arm rests. Every seat in the theater would have an unobstructed view of the screen.
They offer a movie club membership if you're thinking of becoming a regular movie goer. You get half off movies and free documentaries. You can also get free popcorn if you sign up for their newsletter
The walk to the parking lot is quite scenic. The grounds are really beautiful and well kept.
It's a great theater to see all the big hits.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jasmine P.FL, FL03Aug 6, 2023
Great movie theatre. Usually barely any people go to this theatre. Clean seats! Highly recommend!

Never again! We've been members for 4 years...even through the
Pandemic when they were closed.
Came back and they won't honor the membership we couldn't use. Said no to the free popcorn/drink coupons we had.
Bought a large popcorn and drink...sign said free refills (I would hope so for $15).
Went to get a popcorn refill for my kid and they said no. Fine print on sign they showed me said "drinks only".
Ya know because popcorn is so expensive...like 5 cents in food cost!
So many other choices locally WITH customer service.
Treating locals like crap and overcharging tourists is apparently the business model.
I guess while it's hard to get staff they've chosen to move ahead with a team of "no" employees as it wasn't just one employee we encountered.
From now on...Cinemark at Durban for us. Good service, heated recliners, more choices!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 28, 2018
The IMAX Theater is a real experience for movie goers! When it 1st opened they only showed educational films which I liked but more money can be made with new release Hollywood blockbusters so now they run such movies and many in 3D. Today we saw Aquaman which I thought was very entertaining and the special effects on such a big screen were very engrossing to the viewers. The cost is comparable to a regular movie at any theater without discounts. They have some type of yearly plan where you get the blockbuster movies discounted, educational films free, some popcorn/ soda free and preferred seating etc for about $50 each so one needs to decide would they use it?!?

Went to our first movie using our yearly pass. Did not go well. While watching Topgun after 15 minutes the video went out. Then I heard a drunk behind me singing pathetically. FINALLY the movie came back on but had to watch the 15 minutes that we already watched. Never going to get that back in our lives.

It was a enjoyable visit. First part is all Bob Hope related.
It's hard to say what to expect at a exhibit like this.
Entered at 3:00 pm the day after Christmas with only one other couple in the entire place.
With only 4 of us in the place is seems strange they have a Golf simulator to try out your swing only for employees
It looked like he was playing a 18 hole round.
So good for him. Show up to work put on your logo shirt and play 18 on the simulator.
If you like Golf you should go. Don't go for the simulator.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Derek M.FL, FL01Jun 18, 2022
I paid for my tickets online . Got to theater ... they over sold...., but didn't tell us family of 3.... That till after I came back to ticket desk .. they had people sitting on the floors... so dark you couldn't see them...guy at front desk offered a different day but still. Unfair unsafe conditions... lack of caring when they told me they couldn't stop people from sneaking in... 1 door in and out with 6 people working behind confessions.... Worst theater I have ever been to. Won't be back ,.. rude unprofessional staff... had to demand to get a refund...
