Wolfgang Puck Express

Nothing makes me happier than Wolfgang's butternut squash soup! Nothing can make me sadder than a Wolfgang Express that won't sell it until lunchtime. Happily, this one has a full menu all the time. YES! This soup is pure perfection. The minced onion gives just the right amount of texture. The chives and red pepper swirl are the icing on the cake. And it's pretty to boot.
Husband really enjoyed his turkey club, but gets a big kick out of how happy this soup makes me whenever we travel and find it.

Unfortunately, this airport has almost no good options for travelers who care about the food they put into their bodies. WP is no exception but at least they have hot food and a decent environment. Yes, we may be odd in the fact that we like to taste the lettuce on our salad or find a decent vegetarian option, I get it. I am from the Midwest. However, if anyone can step up to the challenge in this airport, I thought WP could. I was mistaken. If possible, pack your own food or grab a hot soup from here (the tortilla soup IS awesome!) and then some organic goodness from the French deli around the corner.

I was excited to try a WP restaurant for the first time. What a mistake! There was one woman there making the food, and taking the money. The lady in front of me was trying to pay for a packaged meal out of the case, and couldn't until this employee was done with the other customer.

Everyone, myself included, tried to order at the counter where the menu was, but you had to go around to the other end and pay for everything first. That is not clear. Neither is it clear that they offer full sit-down service in what appeared to be a bar otherwise.

They managed to forget to make one of two sandwiches, and then were rude to me and insisted on seeing my receipt. They hadn't charged me, but were insisting I pay before they started the long-overdue sandwich. I told them I shouldn't have to pay for the sandwich after such a long wait and their mistake. They were arguing with me about how I could expect to get food without paying first. They said there was no manager for me to speak to.

The place was dirty.

The food was OK, but who can enjoy anything after all the aggravation. I barely made my flight; they were doing last call when I got there.
