Wiltshire Pantry wins the prize for best boxed lunch. During COVID times my employer has taken to providing the occasional thank you lunch, and Wiltshire Pantry's individual boxed lunches are hands down my favorite.
Each lunch is securely packed in a clear plastic clamshell, with the sandwich, side, and dessert carefully separated so there is no cross contamination. One of the worst things I can think of is aioli seeping into my chocolate chip cookie. The vegetable and goat cheese sandwich on focaccia is THE BEST. Except so is the quinoa salad. And also the dense, fudgy brownie. Seriously, the best lunch. And I'm out.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Matt M.Chicago, IL012May 16, 2023
I find this place very overrated. Today I was disappointed again in my lunch. The sandwich was made with stale bread with very thick slices. The side sald was no more than 2 tablespoons and the chicken salad only had 4 small pieces of chicken on the bread.

Love Wiltshire pantry bakery and cafe! A staple in our household. They have really great breakfast and lunch options (and make a terrific latte). But my go-to option is to grab a box of pastries-- either for the family or for the coworkers on the way to work. Every single option is so good, and I love the new/rotating options. My favorite choices: ham and cheese croissant, almond croissant, any doughsant, and the pop tarts. But you really can't go wrong. An be a little pricey, but it's so worth it, and is a treat for all.
Look for them at at some local farmers markets (Douglass Loop) and their pastries are also sold at the local coffee shop Quill's (all locations, I believe).
Lastly, will give an extra shout out for their easy online/to go ordering during the Covid-19 pandemic-- easy to use and quick access!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 20, 2016
Phenomenal cookies & pastries, incredible breakfast dishes, and inventive lunch items. What's not to like about Wiltshire?
This handy spot en route from downtown to the heart of the Highlands is a great option for a meal on the go or for a sit down in the intimate, dining space. On this visit, I was hoping to pick up one of their breakfast sandwiches, but they had sold out. I went for a plain croissant and hit the road to my next meeting.
The breakfast sandwich of my dreams is under $5 and is a lovely egg with cheese on a flaky biscuit. This will make you forget anything you can get from a drive thru window. Wrapped up in foil, you can eat there or on the road.
The croissant was buttery and light. It was indulgent and delicious. Wiltshire also had a mini quiche and a frittata that looked fantastic. Their cookies are frisbee sized and filled with good things like chocolate or peanut butter.
Go and try whatever looks good. Everything here is magical!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mar 24, 2018
Kind of a hidden spot, really. They don't seem to advertise, they're in the Highlands but not on Baxter or Bardstown Road, and they're down quite a bit from the Nitty Gritty and the Fish House. You either found out about Wiltshire Pantry because you stumbled upon it or someone told you about it, in all likelihood.
It's pretty close to my house. On days when it's not raining, I can walk over to it. Have a coffee and a croissant. Cool little venue. The decor is nice, clean, and classy without being pretentious. The prices seem *a little* high but nothing insane. The baked goods are very tasty. The plain buttered croissant is so flaky, I love it.
I wouldn't take a group of 3 or more, hoping to find a place to sit. You're probably going to have a difficult time. The seating is cramped. You've been forewarned.
But go, and expect a really nice coffee and pastry.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mira S.Louisville, KY92469Jun 13, 2021
Really nice staff! I love the women who works here. They make a good dirty chai. They also have fresh bread daily and it is super good and reasonably priced. It's in the little basket by the window.

Food truck on Hite Avenue on Sunday evening was a particularly welcome sight! Goat cheese pizza was outstanding! Come back soon!

It is apparent that Louisville is as much a 'foodies' town as is Charleston. Feeling like a bakery breakfast, we went to Wiltshire Pantry. It is a nicely located, well-established café. It is warm, inviting, comfortable and friendly.
We ordered a Danish and a bagel, along with coffee. The coffee was first class. The food was fresh and very tasty. The service was friendly and efficient. It is the sort of place I would frequently visit if I lived in Louisville.
Indeed, it was so good we ordered a little more. The bean and bacon soup was exceptional.
What a good place this is.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
